looks like a great time and good hunting! were you guys in southern iowa for all of it?
-
I've always wondered how good they were too since it would be nice to have a few more cams out in the woods and these are at a very affordable price. By the sounds of it they are a good deal for the price and i might be picking a couple up in the future
-
i know what you mean with the temps! here in MN we were greeted with mid-upper 50's our rifle season opener but the deer were moving just fine surprisingly. hope your kid feels better!
-
I watched like 33 episodes on the Realtree Podcast and now they aren't on my ipod anymore. Is that how it works? that after you watch them they're gone? cuz i'd like to have quite a few of them back for future reference
-
that is a great story! where is she from (or where were you hunting)? We hunt in Thief River Falls, MN. Were we anywhere close?
-
i see. thanks for clearing that up
-
were you in my stand this weekend?! i had a deer very similar to this one doing the exact same thing, just grunting up a storm! he came from behind me and i got all excited thinking he was gonna be a monster by how much he was grunting

sorry to see you lost a good friend he looked like a wonderful dog and i'm sure he cared about you as much as you cared about him. You'll see him again someday and he'll come running to you with his tail waggin' like everyone else has said i'll remember him in my prayers

I've watched shows that talk about it and have read stuff about it, but i can't remember exactly why we should do it. Doesn;t it have something to do with increasing competition for bucks in order to make sure only the dominant bucks breed with the does? Can someone enlighten me please cuz i think it needs to be done on our farm
-
Wow! Nice Deer! Seems like your farm is stacked.
-
Up here in MN its great too! Again, highs in the 40's. But this weekend the rifle season starts and its supposed to get up towards 50  i dont know if that'll help deer movement
-
I'm from duluth but i'll check out that website right now.
-
thanks! i'll make sure i bring it in once a year and i'll for sure get some nice gloves, jacket, helmet, etc.
-
Yup! I'm excited. We live on a lake that is a HUGE crossroads of trails. Plus people go cruising on our lake and lots of them stop at the bar thats on the lake to eat. I always joke that we're the only people in our whole area that don't have a sled.
-
I don't think so. up here in MN we've had a few systems come through and powder the ground but its never lasted more than a day
-
that video definately got me going! i'd probably be better off with the xc then cuz we have trails all over but i'd like some versatility with my sled. did the front end of the xc look short to you? its not a big deal to me but just wondering if it was my eyes or it looked short to you too

that video was of the Arctic cat 600 that your buddy owns?
-
ya a buddy of mine rode a ZR500 and said he loved the way it rode. said the suspension was great. but i'm not sure if i like the lime green lol I do like the 600 that the polaris offers but i'll have to go look at it one of these weekends (when deer season is over). I think i'm gonna go look at the yamaha and the arctic cat tomorrow but i won't be able to actually buy one for a few weeks. thanks for the tips!

I'm looking at buying a sled before winter hits and have narrowed it down to a few that i like. I have friends who snowmobile a lot and know what they're talking about but i thought i'd post the question on here for anyone to give me their opinion. Tell me what you think of these three sleds: 2003 Polaris XC Edge 600 http://www.snowmobiletraderonline.com/find/listing/2003-POLARIS-XC-Edge-600-95025327 1998 Arctic Cat ZR 500 http://www.rjsportandcycle.com/showcaseproductdetail.htm?ID=76050&Used=1&sort=model&type=text&order=ascending 2000 Yamaha SXR 500 http://www.rjsportandcycle.com/showcaseproductdetail.htm?ID=76570&Used=1&sort=model&type=text&order=ascending&searchType=basic&container1$ctl00$usedEquipmentFilterForm$cmbUsedSearchType=1507&container1$ctl00$usedEquipmentFilterForm$cmbUsedSearchProductOwner If you can't get to the website just let me know. Which one do you guys like? Or if you have any other advice for buying a sled let me know. I'm not looking to spend any more than about $2500.

I have a question that will give you guys a break from all the success threads. I brought six new beman arrows to the pro shop a while ago and had them cut. After it was all done the archery pro said that he put the epoxy in and to wait at least a couple hours before shooting them even though the company says to wait 24 hours. So i waited with the patience that a 6 year old kid has on Christmas Eve for the couple hours to go by. When i put the target tips in it was a little sticky so i slowly worked them in but made sure not to move the insert very much or push it deeper into the arrow (which i think might have happened on some of them). But with three of them, after shooting the arrow, the insert was sliding out when i'd pull the arrow from the target. i pushed the tip and the insert back in and at that point decided to wait till the next day to shoot them again. Now when i put the broadheads and their practice tips in, they won't screw in the whole way. Instead, they stick out about 1/4" to 1/2" from the base of the arrow. This problem only occurs on three of the arrows which i assume is the three that i had to fix while shooting. Is this a problem with the position of the inserts? If so, is there any way that the pro could remove the inserts and replace them?

exactly my thoughts. i'm glad you summed it up that way! but again, for the poster of this thread, great shot on this doe! glad the rage did its job for you!!
