  1. I personally like to stay off Public Land. There are way too many hunters on some places for me to be comfortable with.
  2. There may be some more info on it on the Quality Deer Management website
  3. Theres a licking branch right underneath my stand and they have scraped underneath of it, I had a doe decoy set up by it and I had a good buck come in and check it out in early November.
  4. Only 2 months til season starts, he just loves modeling thosee antlers doesn't he?
  5. wow those are some nice bucks, I wish i had big ones with lots of stickers like that around here.
  6. i looked at the reviews on the cabelas website, and a lot of people seemed to have problems with them leaking and stuff.
  7. I have a friend who is just getting into bowhunting this year, he borrowed a bow from a guy and I had enough stuff i dont use laying around so I set it up for him, truglow sights instead of the oldie he had on it, stabilizer, rest, silencers, release. now hes getting pretty good at it. its a Bear Whitetail 2 which is an oldie and its shooting pretty good now that i have souped it up lol, so no you dont have to have a new bow to shoot well.
  8. Theres still a half hour left I think for the cash for clunkers. Should count it down like the New Year, happy i wont have to hear any more about it lol.
  9. You could slip if you just put a piece of lumber across it and it rains, just a thought.
  10. Shooting my bow today i was pulling back when the string slipped through my release and i punched myself in the face. Upon inspection I noticed that my release had worn through the serving. So how much does it cost to have it re served by a bowsmith? its not the black plastic serving it's like a heavy black string serving. On my Martin Tracer if that would help.
  11. I might have to look into one, been looking for a new bow and from the reviews ive read on them they sound pretty sweet.
  12. Moultrie game spy 4.0. costs 100$ but for the price theyre great
  13. I use a couple Moultries and i think they cost around 150$ each and for the price they cant be beaten. the only thing i dont like about them is the slooooooowwwwwww trigger speed. but they work good enough for me.
  14. Someone who my dad hired to check crops and such was on his 4 wheeler and got right up next to a big buck before it took off in June. Its amazing how close you can get to deer in the offseason. Im one of the lucky ones on the forum, im under 16 so i can participate in Iowas youth season and be in the woods on Sept. 19!
  15. Doe bleat call, thats how i brought in my first achery buck.
  16. after laying the poles across put boards on them, thats what we did at a neighboring property with telephone poles. worked good too.
  17. I'm mostly interested in the buck in the 4th picture down, hes got a tine hangin off the back of his right antler. I saw this buck putting up the cams and I think he looks a little smaller in the pic than real life. They're all good though and thanks for the comments everyone!
  18. More bucks, my last post was "Score These Bucks!".
