  1. What bow are you shooting? that depends on what grip to use as well. As others have stated, don't grip it, simply wrap a finger or two with no pressure. also, hold your hand out tilted in a 45* angle. the center-line (on most bows) show run from where your pointer finger and thumb come together down through your palm. Have you paper tuned? that could also be causing your problems
  2. Beautiful family! looks like you guys are having a great time! I wish I had a playhouse like that when I was a kid!
  3. Hutchies, i'm not a religious man, but I do wish all of the best for you and your mother. Found out recently the my mother has two types of cancer. It's difficult to go through situation's such as these. Keep your head up and keep moving forward. never lose hope Girlfriend has that as well, not to steal the thread, but is there anything that will completely relieve the pain for her? She has her meds now, but her back is still giving her terrible fits. I want to do something for her bad
  4. Alpha Max Base IBO= 321fps Deduction for drawlength= 15 fps Arrow weight deduction= 26 fps Deduction for Draw Weight= 8 fps Ending Speed = 272fps ... I think your right about dead on considering string weight as well. this website is really useful too. http://www.backcountrybowhunting.com/articles/tools.php
  5. I've never had any problems with my scott's. Is there any burrs on the inside of the jaw? I agree with your decision to get away from the ultra-nock. have seen alot of problems with them, plus you'll pick up string speed
  6. I shoot them, will go to blazers next year. they are loud, expensive, and the accuracy that you gain is very minimal. Still a good vane, just not worth it to me
  7. Leaving the house in about 10 minutes for a little deer hunt. hopefully the cardiac can bust a little heart today!
  8. Haha don't worry about it man. I had a 97' F250 Powerstroke that was lifted on 38's with stacks and the whole works...sold it when I moved for a Honda Accord. Life sucks when you don't have a truck sometimes but i make out ok. just put a tarp in the trunk for the dead stuff:hammer1:
  9. we've had honkers all over lately, can't wait to get the PatternMaster out and fold some birds up
  10. Gorgeous! Your a truly skilled man!
  11. Looks like a sweet little head. flew straight?
  12. Sorry I wasn't meaning that anyone who shoots expandable's doesn't know how to tune a bow. Sorry if i offended anyone else I agree, my words were..demeaning lol. I was simply stating my experiences with customers from our shop.. I also have to admit that if i had to shoot an expandable I would shoot the rage. The two blade is a great head. I have seen some failures on the three blade though. However, I choose to shoot fixed heads for the reasons I stated in my earlier post. Again sorry, I did get carried away, and didn't want to offend anyone. Shoot Straight
  13. X2, I love watching Les on TV. I would eat deer poo just to have an ounce of the mans knowledge though lol
  14. congrats, free bottles for all on the forum?:hammer1:
  15. Are you originally from Missoula? I just moved here last year...

    I'm Baaack!

Glad you made it back ok, and jealous you were in Alaksa! lol
  18. 5 more here, then it's in the stand for a doe to open the season up
  19. Good Luck! I had a stand at 25ft last year. can get kinda hairy in wind lol
  20. Rage is a decent head...IMHO there unethical though. Why risk a blade not opening? shoot a fixed blade and there's no worry. And the whole accuracy thing is BS. A fixed blade will fly! my Magnus Stinger will hit exactly on my field tips at 60 yrds. If your shooting past that you shouldn't be hunting....Seems like most people shooting expandable's are only shooting them because their naive on how to tune there arrows or bows. I'm not pointing fingers with that statement, just a general observation of people who come into our shop. On the flip-side I have seen some HUGE holes from the rage... just not worth the worry to me
  21. 90% of peoples problems with broadhead flight is that they don't spin tune them. I'm not saying thats your problem. Two inches low is normal, adjust your sights and go hunt. the muzzy is a great head You can take virtually ANY head and make it shoot like a field tip. All you need to do is spin tune.
