  1. that is unfortunate. In wisconsin, all stands on public land must be taken down everynight. You can leave it locked on the ground at the bottom of the tree but can't have it in the tree. The benefits of resolving the situation don't out weigh the possible drawbacks. Notify dnr and find a different spot. Ga luck.
  2. Yes it is. They don't call the local racing event the red clay classic for nothing..haha.
  3. I got four 1/2 acre food plots. 1-whitetail institute clover 2-half winter wheat half rape 3- half oats half brassica mix from feed mill 4-half annual rye half oats and purple top turnips. Opinions on best nutritional value for summer(growing healthy deer and big racks) and what is the best seed for attracting deer during the season? I hunt in northern wisconsin and the ph is between 6.1 and 6.3. Ground is red clay but doesn't ever have standing water. Appreciate any opinions.
  4. You will have to stick to no plow options for seed. Carving plots out of the woods is tough but worth it. Unless your ground is sandy or black dirt a four wheeler won't be enough to chew up the ground. Talk to a local farmer if possible... any site that sells seed makes it seem like an afternoon project and that is not the case.
  5. I have four 1/2 acre plots in the woods and am in red clay. We have to plow and then disc... got both off of craigslist. 2 bottom plow $250 6' king cutter disc $300. Would like to get a tiller now that the virgin ground has been turned over the last two years.
  6. Plant a little every year. I like it more for being green right away in the spring to get the deer some nutrition, but have had moderate results for hunting too.
  7. WARNING! Thats how it starts. One small one and then boom, youre always working on making an old one bigger or a new one in a different spot. I started with clearing one three years ago and have four quality ones now with plans for two more next year. Its tough carving them out of the woods, but the blood sweat and tears are more than worth it. -Stick with a no plow blend for now-
  8. besides the whole flash thing, how do you like it. been looking at them and want to get one
  9. I was golfing looking for a ball in the woods and had a deja vu of tracking a blood trail...wished i was carrying my bow instead of my clubs
  10. I just switched to a single adjustable and was scared to. Shot it for three weeks and would never go back to multiple pins. I leave it set at 25 yards in the stand and am within three inches 10-40 yards in case I don't have time to adjust.
  11. Just bought my girl a razor edge and she loves it. Bought it new as a package with sights, rest, peep for $300. She pulls forty pounds and is extremely flat shooting out to 30 yards.
  12. Nice pics. I have a 68' oliver 550 and I wouldn't trade it for a new anything. There is something about them that makes ya feel alive everytime you fire them up and hook up the three point attachments.
  13. That skin is hanging off him. At least 5 but probs 6. I guess high but 165
  14. Somebody who shoots deer on tv isn't a hunter they are a reality tv star. I am not being biased, I don't like any of the american idol people either. Or is he more like ryan seacrest?
  15. He was borderline unlikable with bill jordan and that thing on his belt called blah blah blanton... now he officially enters the elite group of the other sell outs... say hi to jackie bushman for me Mikey.
  16. I have moultrie 4.0 with 6v and get about 450 pics before battery dies (summertime). Also have wildview that takes about 1200 before the battery goes... each only lasts about 10 days... what cam has best battery life regardless of trigger speed? anyone know anything about the bushnell waddell pimps on tv?
