  1. From what ive heard, with out his kickers he would be pushing the new world record, and his gross typical score is 219, i should know more after tonight because it will probably be at the local scoring night
  2. I forgot to add it rough scored in the high 190's
  3. This buck was found somewhere in the interlake region, right around where i hunt, apparently it hadnt been shot it must of died of natural causes or somthing, either way it could possibly be the new record typical for manitoba.

    scoring?

I new id loose the inside spread and tip to tip, hes not very big, but im just curious if they will slap a score on him, i was thinking because they deduct side to side differences, the fact that there is an antler on one side, and nothing on the other might make it unscorable... i guess il wait and see on saturday

    scoring?

quick question, Can you score a one antlered buck? My local hunters Head night is coming up this weekend and im taking my little one horned guy cause if you enter a head your automatically enetred in a draw for a rifle, but im just curious if its possible to score him? thanks guys (ps. il post pics of some of the big guys somtime this weekend(

    Broken Antlers

All these bucks have been little guys, there is alot of alfalfa near my property and there is lots of bigger bucks running around so its most likely bigger bucks taking their tole on the little guys antllers

    Broken Antlers

yeah my buck was broken off right at the base of his left antler
  8. So far this season i can think of six people ive talked to that have shot one antlered bucks( me being one of them), and here in manitoba i cant really ever remember bucks break their antlers off, can this be attributed to the very unseasonably warm weather we have had so far this november? or is purley just fluke that they have been taken? i know ive seen videos where bucks in texas have broken antlers, but i figured that was because texas bucks dont have as much mass.. maybe it has somthing to do with warm weather? i dunno maybe its a stupid question, but i thought id ask
  9. 120's.. maybe a little lower, its kinda hard to tell with him hanging upside down, nice buck either way, congrats
  10. Congrats on a real nice buck

    success again

He sure is a nice deer, he will taste good, and its my second deer this rifle season, and the fourth buck ive shot off of my family's home property
  12. Missed this little one antlered guy from my tree stand, but i know the area i hunt rlly well, so i snuck down the feild edge, and caught him crossing a trail, smoked him the second time, he fills tag #2 of 3, now im looking for a good buck
  13. Ive always found that sheds dont sound right, and alot of the people i know dont use sheds for rattling, ive always used antlers that have been cut off, i know it seems like the same thing, but there is a noticable difference
  14. A good friend took this guy this morning, 15 yard heart shot, the pic doesnt show it very well, but his right antler has an 8 inch second main beam, very unique and big buck, thought you all would like to see this. (sorry the pic is so dark, it was obv taken at night)
  15. Went out this morning, its very unseasonably warm here in manitoba for the opening day of rifle season, i have some tags to fill and after only ten minutes i had this doe give me a 50 yard broad side shot, dropped her in her tracks, and now im goin after a big guy
  16. Awesome video, great shot, congrats on a nice buck
  17. Im hunting in a very similar spot, but i have another spot to hunt when the wind isnt right, but yes east winds are the best, so if the winds are any other way i hunt another spot, sucks that the wind isnt co-operting, but u cant shoot em of the couch, so i guess its not a bad idea going in
  18. I have called in a buck with a rattling bag three days in a row now, two days i called in the same buck, he just wouldnt come in bow range, but from what ive heard rattling is supposed to be a little more effective in the morning, although my experiences dont proove that, and ive been skeptical about rattling bags till this week, once the rut is on the bags seem to work just as good as horns, and are easier to take with you, but the fact that you got a buck to come in means you must of been doing somthing right
  19. Ive had birds land on my arrow, and bigger birds land on my bow while its in my hand, a coyote four feet away staring at me while i was on the ground one day, moose, elk, bears, saw a little spike on year beat the crap out of a decent 7 point, not sure how that worked, but he really let him have it and was the deffinate winner of that fight
  20. looked for six hours, grid searched, everything, no sign of him, il go back tomorrow, and if no luck i guess il have to let the ravens find him first
  21. yeah i went out to look this morning, got to where i got last night, he had bedded down and there was lots of blood, but i guess when we went in looking he got up, and there is only two very little drops of blood , still doesnt make sense how he seems to of dissapeared after such a promsing blood trail
  22. Chances are i did only clip one lung, it was a complete broadsie shot, 30 yards, but right behind where his liver is there was a tree.. so if i hit him far back.. i woulda hit the tree, the only thing my crew can think of is a single lung hit, or i hit him alittle low
  23. yeah the blood was pretty decent, but the way that it just stopped we figured it was best to pull out, thanks for the feedback though
  24. Theres the fletching, the top fletching on the right is suposed to be white, and when i found the arrow, you could not tell which one was the white one
  25. Went out tonight to a new spot, havent hunted it at all this year yet, wih only four days left in the manitoba bow season i was gonna shoot anything, so i grunted and rattled , nothing, i had rattled about 4 sequences when i finally saw some movement, but the deer came out from the wrong direction and winded me, so i figured 'what the heck, il try a snort wheeze", and he stopped in his tracks and started coming in, in comes a dadny 10 point, he was acting real aggresive and after a few grunts he cam in bow range, i had a 30 yard shot at his vitals after what felt like an eternity at full draw, i let him have it and the shot looked and sounded good. He ran off and i went back to my truck to call my dad. We waited close to an hour, but because the coyotes are bad around here, we went in looking, we found some blood and my arrow about 60 yards from where i shot at him, complete pass through, bubbles on it and everything. There was a blood trail about 8 inches wide, and two big beds full of blood. But after the second bed the blood seemed to just dissapear, after the huge blood trail with bubbles in it, we figured we'd find him... But now we have backed out, and we are gonna go back in the morning, any opinions on what happened? did we blow it by going in, think we will find him in the morning? Sorry about the long post, i just really want to find this guy. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated thanks.
