I have already started, I look for them in late archery season. I don't get serious until a month or so before the April season. I check and make sure their still in the area and holding. I hunt several private properties and the birds are always changing.
Wow, thats aweful bad! Serious stuff right there! Is there a chance of it becoming an air born dust from drying on the shore? I dont wanna any of that stuff here in Indiana, good luck out there!!
Yeah, I'd have to rewire the house, I wouldn't be able to sleep there at all until I knew for sure things were OK! Glad, you and your family are safe, no one got hurt.
Anyone have one on their bow's? I put one on mine and I'm still up in the air about it, it shoots alright and seems to be alright so far. I was just wondering. It seems to be a pretty fail proof set-up and that was the reason I put one on my bow. Anyone ever run into any problems?
I got my turkey season out of the way so now Im crappie fishing, Indiana's season wont come in until Oct 1st and Im already lookin forward to it. I'll be shootin the bow a few times a week all summer.
I got this guy last thursday at 3:30, I was standing in my dining room and something caught my eye. It was him just walkin around in half strut not 50yrds from my back door LOL. I waited until he walked behind my garage and I grabbed my shotgun and ran out to the corner of the garage and waited, he walked right into the scope LOL. He weighed 24lbs with a 10in beard and had a 28mm and 31mm spur. Not really the normal style of hunting but a birds a bird and he'll make a fine wall rug anyhow.
I hear ya!!! The Indiana season doesnt start til the 27th. I've packed my vest twice, been hitten the calls and pacin the floor. I've seen and heard the birds behind the house and its driven me bout half nuts LOL. I can't wait. I'll be on vacation for the first 2 weeks of season and I'll be ready for that too. Good Luck Crappiepro
I got my 2010 bird back from the Taxidermist. Here's a pic from my cell phone as it hangs in my den. Its half strut gobblin on a limb. Pictures not the best LOL. I was very happy with the mounting job and the freeze dried heads are the best with all the detail's captured. Its a ole 27# Indiana bird.
Here are my 2 turkey slayers. 1st is a Mossberg 535 ATS Tactical Turkey with a Kicks Gobblin Thunder .665 choke and a Simmon scope. The other is a Remington 870 Express Mag with a Simmons Red-Dot.
Turkeygirl heres what ya do, Go the tree or area where this tom roost and put two brite colored shirts or clothes in a triangle and make yourself the third corner of the triangle. This will spook the birds and put them in the woods to escape out of the triangle to you the third corner. This sounds crazy but hey Ive done it, but choked the shot a few years back!! The bird I was chasing would play me the fool and I got one chance and blew it. Keep the clothes in a distance you can still see them. Try it let us know how its works! Crappiepro
