heading back down to wetzel co wv on a rifle hunt for whitetail on thanksgiving weekend. i go with my best friend every year. not alot of big bucks but a lot of fun. besides that chasing them around home.

unreal! is your deer population that low?

25 yards is the farthest his shot would be. ohio doesn't allow rifles and he is too small for the a 20g. I'm apprehensive myself thats why I'm trying to find the best round possible.

i understand the fact a rifle can shoot farther but like hoosier hunter said most accidents happen under fifty yards. i was wondering if anyone knew of any hard facts that changing to shotgun only significantly reduced hunting accidents? has any states done research after changing?

seeing what is on the property with my trail cam is what drives me. qdm is not. the parcels of land are very small. the section i am aloud to hunt is only 17 acres.(it was double that until last week when i found out the neighbors were divorcing and she forbids hunting now).the surrounding area is heavily hunted and by people using the its brown its down mentality. the one buck limit and knowing the big boy is in the area keeps me patient.

what is your opinion on whether or not shotgun only actually reduces hunting accidents. i have read a few articles and personally have found no evidence that it does.

i will be hunting mostly here in ohio. 99 days till the bow opener. i personally wont hunt myself until my 9yr old justin scores his first deer.(hopefully early bow season lol). the only other place i go is on a rifle hunt in wetzel co wv the weekend of thanksgiving. good luck to everyone.
