  1. I don't want to use the dovetail system that is machined into my receiver, but a traditional base/ring system. I prefer a dovetail front and windage adustable rear, Leupold or Redfield type system. What base fits the Mark XXII ? Caliber is .17 HMR, but I don't think that makes a difference
  2. Fiedler - Yep, 53 channel cats that day, but he did have some help catching those!
  3. My best buddy will be eleven in June. He is a STRAIGHT-A student, and recently won a Presidential Award for Academic excellence. He is also a great baseball player, and has made the All Star team in his age group in our town several years in a row. He decided to let his hair grow long, so he can donate it to "Locks of Love", who make and donate wigs to cancer patients who lost their hair due to chemotherapy. An all-around excellent boy, learning and demonstrating that he will (too soon) be a good man!
  4. Neat thread in the Photography and Video Forum http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73072
  5. I was looking through my photo files this morning, and realized that I had chronicled my son's growth and maturing, by taking pictures of him with fish that he caught. I thought it was prety neat, hope you do, too! 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 - A very good year! South Dakota Montana Wyoming Alabama 2007 - Another one 2008 - A Good Start!
  6. Neat thread in the Photography and Video Forum. Lots of fish pics.
  7. The lower velocity means the bullet stays in the barrel longer, giving more time for the muzzle to rise in recoil before the bullet leaves the muzzle. It HAS to go high. Completely normal in that situation. You have to adjust your sights, or modify your aiming point, to hit with that load. Or, you must increase the velocity to hit where your sights are currently set.
  8. Yes, it is. But I wouldn't advise it !!!! Famed gunsmith, ballistician and wildcatter P.O. Ackley performed several experiments with barrels rechambered for larger-diameter bullets but not rebored. As your friend stated in his case, the rifles DID fire, and the projectiles DID exit the barrels. I can't begin to imagine the pressure it takes to squeeze a .308 bullet down a .264 barrel, but here is a quote and a link -- http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0BQY/is_5_50/ai_114283920 Like they say on T.V., DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!! And tell your co-worker to tell his friend to STOP IT, IMMEDIATELY!!!
  9. I am a designated organ donor and have that fact imprinted on my driver's license. In addition, I carry a copy of this, laminated in thick plastic so it doesn't fade or run, in my wallet at all times. I hope that my family will honor my wishes when my time comes. I made very slight changes to the original version. I think you will know where, and I believe Mr. Test would forgive me for it. To Remember Me By Robert Noel Test (1926-1994) The day will come when my body will lie upon a white sheet neatly tucked under four corners of a mattress located in a hospital busily occupied with the living and the dying. At a certain moment a doctor will determine that my brain has ceased to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my life has stopped. When that happens, do not attempt to instill artificial life into my body by the use of a machine. And don't call this my deathbed. Let it be called the Bed of Life, and let my body be taken from it to help others lead fuller lives. Give my sight to a man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby's face or love in the eyes of a woman. Give my heart to a person whose own heart has caused her pain. Give my blood to the teen-ager who was pulled from the wreckage of his car, so that he might live to see his grandchildren play. Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist from week to week. Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body and find a way to make a crippled child walk. Explore every corner of my brain. Take my cells, if necessary, and let them grow so that, someday, a speechless boy will shout at the crack of a bat and a deaf girl will hear the sound of rain against her windows. Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the winds in the Rocky Mountains, to help the grass grow for the elk and deer. If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses and all my prejudice against my fellow man. If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do all I have asked, I will live forever.

A repeat of the Natalee Holloway case?? http://letacordes.com/?page_id=5 Leta Lynn Cordes, 49, has been missing from the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten / Saint Martin since Friday, January 11, 2008. 18. We loved our trip to your part of the country in June & July of 2006. Camping, fishing, hiking, riding horses. Saw lots of game, and the most beautiful land in the world, the Rocky Mountains, from Jackson, Wyoming to Glacier National Park!!! We'll be glad to arrange another trip to Wyoming next fall !! Antelope and Mulies?
  19. Three changes of jobs this summer, and uncertain income prospects, made me afraid to spend the money to join a hunting club. Now I am again in the career that chose me, and the money is steady. But good clubs don't take on new members this time of year. My 10-year-old son, Adam, has hunted with me since he was four, and is eager to continue. I don't want him to lose his enthusiasm. Adam is a young hunter in the early stages of learning, and I want to take him to places where he can learn the RIGHT way to hunt: respect for the land, the landowner, the game and his fellow hunters, without the hassles of hunters drinking alcohol, illegal activities, etc. We live in Baldwin County, Alabama, and would like to find a place within 100 or so miles, if possible, but would travel farther if we need to. If you know or hear of a place where we can hunt, legally and ethically, with others who hunt the same way, please let me know ASAP. And please share my search with your family, friends and neighbors, too.
  20. Have any of you Fredheads taken a real look at Mike Huckabee and/or Duncan Hunter? Fred has some serious problems with his stance on the blatantly unconstitutional McCain-Feingold act (campaign finance and the blackout of advertising before an election by issue-oriented groups.) The act was passed specifically to stop the NRA (and other similar narrowly focused groups) from using it's clout to get ISSUES before the public, so they would ask questions and get the candidates' TRUE opinions and records on important issues.
  21. If you look closely, you can see the point of bullet impact, near the bottom of the hill in the background to the right. It looks to be 300-400 yards from shooter to target !!!!
  22. It is designerd to be used after all mowing is completed. I have used a sweeper, and at other times, a bagger which bags while mowing. I'll NEVER have a bagger on my mower again. Using a sweeper is SO much easier, and even though you use it after mowing, it is actually FASTER than using a bagger while mowing. You get all your mowing done at once, rathewr than having to stop every few minutes to dump a full hopper or bagger. Then you pull the sweeper around, anf pick up the grass. A sweeper usually holds MUCH more than a bagger, and dumps a LOT quicker and cleaner, and without having to shut off the mower and climb off, and then back on and restart.
