Even just doing that sounds like a blast. Just disconnect from this technological world and enjoy the wilderness. I really want to do it while hutning but finding a place on public property is rough not to mention the chance of your camp getting sacked or worse items stolen. Where do you do that sort of thing at? We have alot of people who get into that at fort number four and ticondaroga.

Is there a specific piece of equipment to spin test? I have noticed that since I quick fletched my arrows that a good number of em fly much better with the select few that just leave the bow odd.

Ive always wanted to got to one since i was younger just never got around to it. Looks like thats on the bucket list. How many of yall go on hunting trips where you camp out in the woods and only bring what you can carry on your back?

I numbered them yesterday. Thanks for the tip.

I just recently bought my first which is a 2012 razors edge set at 60. Shooting 4560 red head carbon fury with 100 grain muzzy phantom mx 4. Its a fun bow. Small and compact. Just put winners choice string and cables on it, trophey ridge quiver, limbsaver 4.5 stabilizer, norway string tamer, pro hunter single pin, new peep, and got most of my arrows quick fletched with blazer veins. For the price of the bow i couldnt go wrong and i didnt want to spend a ton on my first one. That went out the window. But with the size its light weight and easy to carry not to mention much smaller than other bows for a good brush bow. Id like to start shooting 3d targets but im limited to 20 yard paper for now. In time. Just bhoping everything goes right the first time i get one in range.

Looks like this thread is slowing down. Working on my rank. Can't blame a guy for trying.

When i get to where im buying a house and if the wife lets me have a man cave besides the garage im not sure im going to put a tv in there. If i do im likely to sleep in there everynight. Haha.

I have a ranger with a 4.0 in it and it isnt bad but not great on gas. Im guessing your somewhere in the south with the picture you got so two wheel drive wont be bad unless you get into the back woods. Im from the north and if you look at my pics youll notice one day its nice and dry the next ten inches of snow so a 4x4 is in demand. What equipment do you have? I just picked an api climber stand and am thankful i have an extended cab truck. I know some people hunt and use cars and theres absolutely nothing wrong with that but the benefits of a truck speak loudly. Besides a little blood in the bed of a truck vs in the trunk of a car is well much easier to clean. Lol

Its all good. The real pay off is when you get to spend the weekend with the family and the woods. What kind of car do you want?

Well lets break the tension. you say you buy all your own equipment? that's pretty good for a fifteen year old. i remember busting my butt on the farm for 12 or more hours a day just to make 5 bucks an hour. its hard but honest work and I'm damn proud of what i bought with my own money the same way i am today. Where do you hunt? what are you using?

I picked up some Muzzy MX4s and some rocky mountains. how does the mx3 fly?
-
Ok. I noticed your post about spines. You know alot about arrows? I got my bow and arrows from Bass Pro shops and they set me up with 4560 carbon furys. I dont know what that equates to but i would like to know for other brands.

I kind of figured it was something along those lines. Just wasnt sure what the person ment by saying they numbered them. If you read between the lines of posts theres a ton of ideas and great information. I bought my bow back in April and practice at twenty yards regularly so all the info i can gather before i head out to the woods in October is very helpful. Hoosier are you qouting 97? Im a bit confused since theres a question mark in his post. To me its not a game. I love the woods even though i havent been hunting for that long. Ive grown up camping, fishing, hiking and all outdoor topics, been around a ton of hunters so i learned alot about respecting it. Not trying to start anything just asking for information thats all.

I have seen a few post about people numbering there arrows and writing down information on that specific arrow. What info do you take down. Im thinking about trying it. Any insight?
-
Good luck. Im going for my first deer with a bow this year aswell. What broad heads are you using?
-
That's no good. Are you going back out or are you calling it since you drew blood?
-
Its a bit rough getting in squirrel and rabbit until later in the year sin,e it runs right through all the major seasons. So its a toss up. Have a blast with squirrel and rabbit or fill the freezer.
-
Congrats. Put up some pics when you find him
-
Does rabbit season take place during squirrel season for you like it does mine?

with the ranging of the deer from the elevation change do it really pay off to get a range finder with the angle technology? it seems like it would be but if anyone has any experience with them and could offer insight on them it would go a long way. also i have already figured out the best way to get good at it is just going out and practicing.

I"m not familiar at all with what you all are talking about with a stiffer spine and what not. Right now I pull back 60 LBS. and shoot 4560 red head carbon fury arrows. if any of you know what it is for spine strength or compares to could you all help me out and give me some advice about sticking with this size or upgrading to a different arrow? thanks
-
what are yall shooting squirrels with? I use my 12 gauge for almost everything. i know some choose a .22.
-
Ok. do you know if its a dramatic difference or about the same?
-
Practiced at 20 yards today. shot a paper plate. i was a bit rusty since its been about a month. Im more than comfortable out to that far but its hard pressed to find a spot to go out past twenty. There's one outdoor range that goes out to 40 but with the work schedule its hard to get to the safety class required to use it. Is there much of a difference when shooting from a stand compared to the ground? i know that line of sight might be further than it actually is but does the arrow fly any different?
