  1. Facebook Logo Urine-Based Deer Lures Advisory The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife recommends the use of synthetic, non-urine-based scents or lures in deer hunting. The infectious prions which cause Chronic Wasting Disease can be spread through urine-based lures. Studies have shown the prions can survive for years in contaminated soils and the environment. Urine-based scents and lures are not treated to kill the prions as heating or chemical treatments would also reduce the desired scent characteristics. Hunters using urine-based scents should place them in areas out of contact with deer, the ground or vegetation. http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/cwd_urinelures.htm

  3. Some good videos on their web site and YouTube showing Swarvoski and Leupold BT's. If you are positive you will do long range hunting then go for it!
  4. Sorry folks, been out many days and no buck yet. I will keep trying
  5. Too deep the deer will stay put pretty much. They will eventually move about. Use snowshoes to get to your spot. If it gets crusty, get in early and hold tight. I like to hunt as the front comes in and just after as long it is not as heavy as you are getting. Good luck!
  6. I have that and just updated to the new HSS Elite vest.
  7. Nothing here expected as far out as Christmas:helpsmilie:It sure would help the hunting, it's been too warm too long.
  8. Be you and you will land it! Good luck!

  10. Wow, first post and it's spam?
  11. My deer apps indicate this weekend the 2nd rut will kick in. The October rut did not last long, maybe 2 days.
  12. Get some trail cams set up! Good luck!
  13. It us increasing. It is not lazy as stated above. You still have to know where and how to hunt, scent control, being accurate. Actual lay, it may be easier with a compound bow as you can get off a second shot a lot quicker than with a crosses bow . As long as it is legal so be it. Let's not be divisive witching the hunting community. We all need each other's support as the anti's wil look to divide and conquer if we are not firm and unified.

  16. A lot of what you will need will come with experience. Make sure to be afield as much as you can. Read up, watch videos, hook up with hunting buddies. In the end, it all comes down to experience and in hunting, a bit of luck. Enjoy the experience regardless of the outcome. Patience will also be a good thing to develop.
  17. Well, you used technology to start the discussion. Progress is good. I would rather hunt in Goretex insulated camo after using a nice body wash, to hunt with my modern bow or gun. The option would to go unwashed in a loin cloth. We need not separate the hunting community into rabid camps that fight any one's hunting preference. As long as it is legal, any method is fine with me :-)
  18. Those are mine, please return them! Just kidding. At least you tried to find the owner. I do not recall finding anything but I have lost stuff before (slate call, deer call) etc.
  19. The many deer I got with my Hoyt Lazer Tech never complained that I should have used another brand:rockon:
  20. That is why I said "if". They have yet to prove it. Could be an easy excuse for them

I picked a lot of beans today as the forecast is for FROST tonight. Leaves were changing ever so slightly but tonight will kick start the fall. Deer season soon (I'll be away for the opener unfortunately.
