colescott1
I shot for about 10 years using fingers before just switching to a release this summer (along with adding a peep). My accuracy has improved dramatically. Haven't spent a hunting season yet with the release...that starts in 2 weeks....but so far, for strickly shooting, I can say I am way more accurate with a release. HuntingInMaine
Re: Fingers or release? I only used a release twice and didn't like it so I always shoot fingers now....maybe my accuracy would have been better with the release if I used it more, but the fingers work great so I am sticking with it. elkhntnfool
Re: Fingers or release? I shot fingers for quite awhile before shooting with a release. Shoot the release is much smoother and more accurate I'll never go back.

hunter336
Re: Fingers or release? I used to shoot with fingers years ago. The best thing I did was start using a release. After switching my groups really tightened up.

Guest KSNimrod
Re: Fingers or release? I shoot fingers. Have always liked the feel of it. With practice I'm able to keep good groups and I don't have to worry about one more possible failure while hunting.

Orion_70
Re: Fingers or release? Fingers Fingers Fingers... I like traditional archery too much to give up the feel of the string. I tried a release with a compound before, it wasn't pretty. Besides I know I'll never have problems with my fingers
archerjg
Re: Fingers or release? I shoot fingers. I shot a release once and did not like it and never did find the arrow. Archerjg
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: Fingers or release? Fingers first...... then the realease I use only a release now the fingers in the begining really helped me make sure my anchor point was the same every time now it comes even more natural with the release. Tony
Re: Fingers or release? i started out with shooting fingers and then went to a release about 15 years ago.. my shooting accuracy improved so much i just couldnt go back.. so i shoot a Carter One Shot caliper release for hunting with my compound now . however i have gone back to shooting a traditional bow and im shooting fingers again.. its really working out well and i will be hunting with the recurve for my second year .. i say what ever way you feel most comfortable is the way you should shoot. but if you want to switch to a release you should do it during the summer so that you have a lot of time to get used ot it.. Shoot Strong Tony
