fisherguy
Official Hockey Thread Just face it...Boston is generally really really bad this year and they need more than a change in one player for that to change.
VermontHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread [ QUOTE ] Ok you guys picked on THORTON and blamed him on all the loses. [/ QUOTE ] You guy's ??? I never blamed Thorton,, but I did criticise the goaltending from the get go.... ,, and I also said the Bruins D needed to be much stronger.... If I was going to trade someone it would have be Samsonov, he just hasn't played to his full potential for the last 2 seasons......

Are you crazy Luke He is leading the Bruins in points, much more than Thorton was doing. I never picked on Thorton except say he shouldn't be a captain. For the amount he was getting paid and the amount of service he was providing to the Bruins just didn't add up. How can you say Samsonov man Raycroft sucks IMO. He lost alot of games this year. Alot of it was definatley the "D" but alot of it was him too. Tovien is who they need to play. Send Raycroft back to the basics with the baby "B's" in Prov. Luke, please say that when you typed Samsonov, it was a typo
LETMGROW
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread I can't believe so many people have looked at this thread! Of all the so called sports being played hockey has got to be by and the largest farce of them all. Skate around the ice, Swing a 6 FT. hardwood stick at someone, And if you do put that little chunck of hard rubber in the net you get hugged by a bunch of overpaid, sweaty teammates. Oh, Wow! I was really happy when the hockey season was suspended, we all got a chance to watch " I love Lucy " reruns.
VermontHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Mike, Sammy just hasn't been the same since his injury a couple years ago,, I agree he leads the Bruins in points, but think he has more to offer and just won't give it up...if that makes sense.... Especially when there are several rookies playing this year that have out-scored Sammy big time,, He just seems to be leaving way too much on the plate for my liking.... Of course I have been known to be very wrong before, maybe this is just one of those times, but I think he could offer more thatn a little offence here and there...JMO of course

What happens in basketball when someone hits someone, they cry foul and then break out the bling bling Heck if their shorts get any lower that they play in, they will be wearing them around their ankles

Sure glad Im not a betting man,, atleast not a harsh better.... I keep hoping they will turn the tide for the better,, I guess you and I are the last of a dying breed,, we stick with our team to the bitter end.... superguide
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread TreeStand and Vermont-do you guys have the Don Cherry DVD's-if you like oldtime hockey you'll love these. The new one has the Stan Johnathon-Pierre Bouchard scrap on it definately one of the best hockey fights ever. As for enforcers I'm afraid to say superguide jr. can chuck knuckles pretty good-those are 13-14 year olds and we play against kids 6'3 200 lbs-it is unbelievable how much faster and stronger kids are at this age then they were 15-20 years ago. Ty is the same size I was when I graduated. My wifes brother is 6'5 and 230 and was a good hockey player hopefully he gets a bit of that size. If you ever get a chance go watch DJ King for Peoria in the AHL he's a local boy who can really scrap.
VermontHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Nope haven't got any of the Don Chery DVD's,,but I have heard they are a blast with some great footage... I'll have to keep my eye's open for more AHL games, unfortunately I don't get to see many. Don't you worry Ty, has a great teacher and by the sounds he has the skills, so everything will fall into place....

superguide
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread For TY to go much furthur in hockey I'd have to sell his hunting rifles-burn his bull rope lol. The next step up you give all that stuff up for a lot of years. I was talking to a buddy of mine-he's in his late 30's-played in the NHL for Leafs and Oilers-we were talking about hunting deer-he told me I shot my first buck when I was 13 then I didn't get another one till I was inmy 30's. He'd missed all those seasons cause of hockey-just one thing those guys give up. He gives it all every shift which even if he doesn't go the next step is all I ask. There's nothing more frustrating than coaching kids with talent but no desire. I'm sure you've heard of Jeff Friesen-when he left here to play a higher level there were two other boys as good or better but didn't have his will to succeeed. I played with guys like that too-the game was effortless to them but just didn't have what it takes inside to progress.
Muff
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Well not sure if I am real happy with Team Canada...I hope Spezza and Staal can play their way onto the team....and no Joseph was a bit of a surprise....oh well first off is the JR tourny and then we can start to worry about the big boys! VermontHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread OK Mike, we at the cross roads tonite and tommarrow night... We need these 4 points against Toronto... If it doesn't happen you will need to use your military skills, to snap some hockey sense into this team.... OH YEAH,,, did anyone by chance catch the Oilers and Canucks game last night,,, what a weird game... The Oilers and Canucks went goal-for-goal in a 7-6 shootout won by Edmonton, it was the craziest game I've seen yet this season....
drkillemquick
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread Mike I think you had better get "those military skills ready" as I think Bruin fans are going to be very unhappy at the end of tonight's game!!!! VermontHunter
Re: Official Boston Bruins thread I hear ya Mike,, I miss the old time hockey, when they dropped the gloves it was on ,,, not this tap dancing for 2 min, just to hug and hit the ice..... I actually watched one of the wierdest games last night between the oilers and canucks,, it just wasn't hockey in my opinion... Won't anybody drop em' and go for it anymore...
