Well I've got guys on my roof today, tearing all the old tin off and replacing it with plywood and torch-on roofing. I was kinda hoping it wouldn't be like opening a can of worms like everything else I've done around here, but it's the story of my life. Some of my trusses are broken up bad and have to be rebuilt from the roof. Scary stuff. I'll tell ya. I'm waiting for one of the roofers to come falling into my kitchen as we speak. Here's what we have so far and it doesn't look good. Looks like the job is going to cost me a bit more than I figured. The back is just as bad as the front overhang. All rotten (can-O-worms) Pretty chincy trusses eh Take my advice you younger guys...If your thinking about buying a mobile home, make sure you get a newer model that was built a little more skookum. On a more positive note, I'm putting in a new shed where my Aviary used to be, (still have some of the aviary that has to come down.) [/ QUOTE ] They're just the regular pyramid blocks, with grooves for the wood to sit in. Gets it a bit closer to the ground that way. Soon I will be done with our house and I will show you what we started with and what we ended up with. Makes that project look like a cakewalk. That used to drive me crazy when I worked with dad. Never failed we would get a job working for some older people and they would get the lawnchairs out and watch us. I don't have the lawnchair out and I don't stick around up there for very long. I hate being watched paint too. I had a lady one time who sat in her dining room and watched me for 3 days straight, without saying a word, even when I tried to strike up a conversation. I know you probably don't want to hear this, but it might behoove you to put a little more pitch and overhang on that roof.
