snapper
Re: JG - DNF #2 You know what I thought was humorous...the way Jeff sorta took a shot at Jr. when they were interviewing him after the crash. Saying how hard Jr. was bump drafting...then at the end of the race...Jeff's teamate takes out one of their own. LOL Maybe Jr. was bumping harder than other drivers...but I didn't see Jr. spinning anyone out. As far as Jeff's DNF...I don't really care for him...but this is a perfect example of why I don't like restrictor plate races. No driver should get a DNF because of someone else's stupid driving or Nascar's stupid rules. I know, being in the wrong place at the wrong time can happen on any track...but when they are racing 3/4 wide at 200 mph...one little slip and the whole field is punished for it. Third...only whining and crying I heard was Gordon about (in my best boo hoo voice) how hard JR bumped me...LOL OH BTW, I'm not a JR fan...he's not who I wanting to win the championship...but if I were to pick between him or Gordon...I would pick JR! Valkrie1357
Re: JG - DNF #2 If you look at how many laps he had. the wreck that Jeff was involved in was on Lap 138ish. Record the Replay Thursday Afternoon on Speed Channel & SEE for yourself (You'd have to open your eyes to see it though) NASCAR.com had him listed as "accident" the same as other Drivers who involved & were many Laps Down. Gator
Re: JG - DNF #2 Valkrie, chew on this for awhile, this was taken STRAIGHT from www.gordonline.com, which is Jeff Gordon Online. [ QUOTE ] Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On TALLADEGA, AL. (October 9)- - Jeff Gordon's road to a fifth championship is out of his hands. While Gordon could run up front for the balance of the season, he'll need no less than five drivers to have a bad race along the way to give him a chance at the title. At Talladega Superspeedway, Gordon was swept up in a wreck on lap 139 and finished 36th-- his 6th DNF of the season. [/ QUOTE ] There it is, in black and white, his 6th DNF this year And here are his stats for the last 5 races Richmond 31 Loudon 3 Dover 3 Kansas 39 Talladega

And, the OFFICIAL (the ONLY results/opinions that matter) Results are... http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2006/30/data/results_official.html I don't see it saying "Running" anywhere near Julie's name. So, that is an official DNF. The only running Julie was doing at the end of that race was home to his mother to complain about Junior's bumping. VermontHunter
Re: JG - DNF #2 Listen, folks if you want to dump on Gordon atleast use some class and facts when doing so..... Man you DEI fans are so radical you're scarey... The MEDIA couldn't wait for Jeffs car to come to a stop in the garage area, so they could ask him about all of the bump drafting that was going on, on the track....Sheesh, lets get real and not read more into Jeffs comment than what there actually was... He was asked for his opinion on the bump drafting particularly how Jr. was pushing him along, Jeff only commented that Jr. was getting a touch excessive to the point he was actually lifting his rear of the track.... and that was it..... So Jr. took offence as soon as NASCAR asked him to cool it,,,, and you DEI fans went one step farther and labeled him the whiner again.... totally nuts.... Plain and simple NASCAR says NO bump drafting and then lets it roll on.... What Jr. the only one racing today intitled to an opinion about whats happening on the track ??? Like Jeff said,, he doesn't know who was making the calls in the booth, but he will gladly add a passenger seat in the next race and they can ride along and judge for themselfs.... Do I personally think Jr. did anything wrong ?? NOPE not in the least,, but accordding to Heltons own drivers meeting statement,, YES (Jr) was breaking the rules so why wasn't there a BLACK FLAG for the infraction....????.... You all can call Jeff all of the names you want,,, but it still doesn't erase the fact that Jeff has more driving skills than Jr. and has the WINS, TITLES, and CHAMPIONSHIPS to prove that fact... And as for the MOMMY statements that one was Jr's,, so I guess he was having a complex issue.... And there is a big difference in BUMP DRAFTING and DRAFTING..... Look it up... Bowhntr
Re: JG - DNF #2 I think Jr. said it best in an interview Monday. If Gordon wants to whine about how Jr helped to push him out front...(and yes Jr. DID push Gordon to the front. Any race fan knows that restrictor plate races you need a push)...Anyway, Jr just said if Gordon wants to complain about the way he helped him then Jr. just wouldn't help him anymore. Sounds like a simple solution to me.
