Congratulations! I have two girls. Love them babies! -
Mainly hunting clothes. I have ran into many guys that just walk on and had to run them off. Occasionally they leave clothing behind as they exit.

No promises...

Surprising what can kill animals. A few years back we had cows dropping like crazy. There were piles of dead cows all over the fields. We sent one off to be tested. Come to find out, we had a bumper crop of acorns and too many can be toxic and kill cattle. The cows had been sitting under trees eating as many as they could and it killed them........

I am farther east than Todd in Oklahoma. I am just about 30 minutes from West Arkansas, just west of Siloam Springs. I hunt small water too. Fairly large ponds. I picked up a lease this year because it was open. Two large ponds. Lots of potential. Last year I picked up a good goose pond. My waterfowl hunting has grown leaps and bounds. Just picked up a new layout blind. They are on sale at BassPro for $115. It is the BP brand but I only have one field that I need a layout blind so it wont get used much. Even then, looks like a nice blind. I also bought a Winchester Super X pump this year. Got it used but it had only seen three hunts. My hunting partners.... The Lab is actually just a ranch dog that lives on our ranch. She has never been trained but is an incredible retreiver. I keep threatening to bring her home to work with her but she is not a pup so it would take a lot of work. She will go after ducks fast... The Golden was purchased to be a duck dog. She didnt work out at all. She trained easy enough but is really, really lazy. That was a let down. She is about 80lbs and beautiful but never wants to leave the house. You have to pick her up to put her in the truck. She turned 3 in July. Just a pet now... Anyone need a full blood golden?

That thing is beautiful Todd. I grew up with Fords and they have treated me well over the years. I still have a 2001 F150 that I bought back in 2002. Over the years I have ran it up to 115,000 miles. I have done nothing to the truck. Great trucks. Probably next year I am going to upgrade to a used F250 or F350. I have just outgrown the F150. Sure is a nice truck bud!

I have been trying to get my wife into hunting over the past 20 years. I started dating this beauty almost 21 years ago and took her deer hunting shortly after we started dating. I also tried squirrel, etc. To no avail. Over the past 16 years of our marriage I have begged for her to go hunting with me. She wasn't interested. She didn't give me too much grief over the years about hunting but she never wanted to be a part of it. I watched the woman cut deer up in the house, cook stuff I brought home, pack me for long hunts, etc. However, she never would hunt and found every excuse possible to keep from going. Years ago she took the hunter's education class with me so I kept up hope! Last year she bought a duck stamp with intent of at least going once, it never happened. This year I setup a big dove hunt and took 30 paid guns to the field with me. She decided she better go help entertain. She tried to hit clays with her Mossberg 20ga but the choke was too tight and she couldn't hit. She finally decided to try a Franchi, 12 ga, that was left to her. She hit 7 of 8 clays turning 5 into powder. Opening morning of dove, this past Sunday, shots started after daylight. A dove came in about 40 yards, right to left, and flying like a bullet....as doves do. She pulled up from behind a hay bale and absolutely smoked the dove. She looked at me with the same level of shock I had and then started jumping up and down, it was really cute. Several doves later she winged one and ran out to beat it with her shotgun barrel. Honestly at this point I was having way more fun watching my blue-eyed beauty than the doves. After a few hours we had 16 in the bucket and one big collective smile. We cleaned the doves and went home. The next morning (Monday) I went back with friends and I limited in the first couple of hours. I came home to clean doves with my girls. My wife came out to tell me, "Don't tell anyone..... but I cant wait for duck season!" I'm still smiling....We are now talking new camo, a lab, blinds, etc. She is 100 percent sold. She still hates game animals with a passion but if it has wings she is in.... It took almost 21 years but I have the prettiest hunting partner I could have ever hoped for.Hair has to look good for dove hunting. This was literally 4:15 a.m.Her Franci and new Realtree CamoThe Haul

Hope it went well. We went Sunday for the opener. I took 30 people with guns. Several limited. I had to play host, this was my thing. I shot 8. My wife on her first hunt ever shot 7. Back out yesterday. I limited at 15.

Yep, East side of Okieland is high too. Find something out in the sticks and its around $1500 an acre. Buy in an area that can be developed and it runs around $3000 - $4000 if youre looking at 10+ acres. That all changes at 100+ acres.

Im out too. Too busy the last few years. It has really limited my hunting...

Yep, another RCBS rock chucker here too.... My dad has the same press. He liked mine and got one for his birthday the following year. He does all handgun ammo (9mm, .45 ACP, .357, .32, .38, etc). He loads a lot. The man literally has thousands of round of .357. When you do that shooting is much, much cheaper. I handload rifle rounds, mainly .243 and .30-06. I have die sets for other rounds too but this is what I need the most. By far I do more .243. I loaded hundreds of rounds a few years ago and still have some left. However, I just cleaned off the bench. It is time to do more. Like mentioned above, its pretty easy to buld a high end round, something incredibly accurate, etc. for the price of cheaper bullets like Corelokt. Dont get me wrong, I actually love Remington Corelokt but you can shoot a match grade bullet or something like a Sierra Game King for the same price. The initial cost is the big thing but it really is fun to do so totally worth it to me.

Here is the update.... Sorry, ive been WAY too busy. I looked everywhere local for a choke but with no luck. Dove season is too close. She has a high end Franchi, 12ga that was left to her by another family member. I have hunted with it a little, she hasn’t. I took her out over the weekend and sent up 8 clays. She hit 7 of the 8. The only one she missed was a left to right shot. 5 of the 7 were dust after the shot. The other two were solid hits. Target acquisition was great too. Most of her shots were right after the clay hit the air... She actually loved the Franchi and even though it is an ultra light it didn’t kick too much different than a pump 20ga. All set. :cool2: Now I just have to make it to Sun-up Sunday morning!

So my wife has suddenly decided to hunt with me... Im SOOOO happy. This took years but she is in to some degree. Last year she hit the dove field with me and had a lot of fun. She is going with me again this year. The only problem I have is I bought her a Mossberg 500, 20ga for hunting. Great little shotguns, especially for the price. It currently has a modified choke. Last year she couldn’t hit squat with hit. We stepped it off and she shot again. The pattern was incredibly too tight for dove hunting. I’m picking up a new choke for it this week and then shooting some skeet to see how she does. I’m thinking of picking up a skeet choke. Is this too open? I don’t want to kill her effective range but she isn’t hitting anything with the modified. Improved was another option but as tight as that gun is shooting I’m afraid it won’t make enough of a difference.

Congratulations! Two is fun. I have two girls and love them to death. They are daddy's girls.

We just came out of 3 years of HARD, HARD drought. Hay last year was $85 - $100 for a 1000lb round bale. We have had incredibly cool temps and tons of rain this year. You wont hear me complaining... Oh, and Hay is down to $35 - $45 a bale.

Diversification is one of the best things you can do for yourself! Congratulations man… glad it’s working out.

Our resident goose starts September 14th. Im ready. I have a decent spot to hunt and im ready for it this year... Duck isnt far behind hat so im STOKED!

Yep.... you’ll only get more efficient too. The more you handle the monster and the more you learn the way you can mow now it gets even better.
-
I missed it too.. was in Branson with the family.... dang...
-
Yep, that will be a good mower. HUGE deck for a ZTR, at least for moderate to light mowing. Are you mowing acerage? We literally went from about 2 hours mowing our place to an hour. The fact you dont have to mow a pattern or turn off the blade to go in reverse is HUGE. Congratulations and let us know how it does....

Welcome aboard! We all want to work in the hunting industry.... Hopefully some of us get to do that.....
