  1. Thanks Shaun. He claims he put a new EGR valve on it, but it still failed. If I run some cleaner additives in the gas and oil, would that help any? What about premium gas at the pump? I figure those may help to clean out the catalitic converter? Tom
  2. I'm really sorry to hear this, Mike. My condolences go out to you and your whole family. Take care. Tom
  3. Hi folks. I Had to buy a used inexpensive car for the wife. Bought it in an emissions testing county. Didn't know it was suspended plates because it didn't pass the emissions test. The NOX level is high. Does anyone know what to do to bring that level down without having to take it to a mechanic? Thank you in advance for your help. Dawg
  4. That pic just resurfaced on a fishing site I go on. It is a European pike(they get huge), and the pic has been floating around for over a year now. Dawg
  5. I went to a jewelry auction several years ago. My wife paid $100 for a very nice tennis bracelet that had some diamonds in it, and saffires. The thing had a certificate that seemed almost bogus, but they guaranteed a return if not worth what you paid. She took it into a Kay's Jewelers and a man put it under a scope for her. It turned out that the stones, even though small, were flawless! They offered her $1000 trade value towards anything worth more than a grand. It must have been quite valuable to them. Any jeweler should scope it for you, and tell you if they are good stones. We bought a diamond engagement ring from Pennys, which was guaranteed genuine stones. Several years later (receipt was misplaced), a jeweler scoped the stones on it, and said they were fake. Without the receipt, Pennys just laughed at us, and said they must have been sold as zirconium. We Traded up for a gold band, but lost 50% on it. 3 years later I found the receipt, but it was too late. It was marked as genuine diamonds, and they would have given us 100% on an up trade, with that receipt. Pennys doesn't get much business from us anymore. So, be careful and get the stones scoped; and make sure he will give you a guaranty of satisfaction if they are not as marked. Dawg
  6. I was selling part time on ebay up until this past May. My mind got too jumbled to keep up with it after that. A couple of years ago, I made some good money selling. Too many people are selling multiples of everything, which drives the prices way down. Several years ago you could put stuff that you probably would have thrown away on there, and you usually could find a buyer. Now, you have to be flexible. Ebay stores are nice, but adding up all of the fees at the end of the year can turn into a nightmare if you do it as a business. Dawg
  7. That's ok Ken. I realize that alot of family issues arose with your people. Things happen. I waited along time before I contacted your organization, as I figured I would be able to heal enough to get back to work. By the time I realized I was worse than expected, your funds were low also. HHH came through for me, and I really appreciate that. Tom
  8. I want to take a moment to thank the Hunters Helping Hunters organization for helping me out from when I had my accident late last year. Mike Bell had been working with me. It took them awhile, but they came through with a donation. I'm not going to be working anymore, because of the accident. Buckee told me about them; and Ken made a post on here for me to contact them after I got hurt. They helped me out alot. Folks, if you find yourself with extra charitable money, please think about donating to HHH. It is a caring organization, and can use some help to keep on helping folks in need. Mike Bell told me tonight that he is in the process of making up a blog about many different charitable organizations. He should get it finished by weeks end. Thanks for reading this. Tom Repinski
  9. The ThirdI pretty much covered it for me. In the Corps when I was in, everybody swore all of the time. Most of the people I have ever hung around with did also. I do my best to control it, but sometimes it gets the best of me, even in strict company. I apologize to them, but it has been around me for 30 years now, and it almost gets to be like a second language at times. Dawg
  10. I pray he's ok. I pray for Hutchies and his wife too. My cousin's son had a pile of issues when his son was born. It's real hard on the parents. Dawg
  11. Mike, I'm prayin for a minor health issue for you. Hang in there, and I hope you have a quick recovery. Dawg
  12. I still can't get around good, so I will take what comes out, as long as it will dress out close to 100# or better. We have nubby's where I hunt that will dress out 90# plus. The freezer is empty, and I saw a total of 2 deer last year, because I can't get back in to the good stands. So, if it is decent sized, it's down. Dawg
  13. Right now, a series of tending grunts may bring in a big one that has already bred a doe, and wants to protect his territory for another hot doe. Dawg
  14. Thank you to all veterans. I salute you all. (Whether you work for a living, or not!!) Dawg
  15. OOHRAHHH!! Semper Fi to all of you old, or young Marines. Past & Present. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Happy birthday. Bulldawg
  16. Take care New. I wish you the best, but think you should consider sticking around. Dawg
  17. There are some good replys here. I also look on ridges that border big willow marshes. Dawg
  18. Praying that nothing comes up that is really bad. Hope you feel better soon. Dawg
  19. I'm totally against this too! If the school wants to pay the childs way through thier childhood years, then, and only then would they have the right to do this. A parent loses alot of control on certain issues, if this is done behind thier backs. It may cause a child to not take enough precautions against sexual diseases, and cause them to run around and not listen to the parents. Dawg
  20. That would depend on the area the photos were taken in. The southern CWD DEZ units are shown on page 30 in the regs. A warden once told me that a piebald deer has to have at least one visible dark spot on the hide to be legal to shoot it. Otherwise it is considered to be a white deer, and is protected. The albino and white deer are legal to kill in the CWD DEZ areas, as long as you get prior written permission from the DNR. The only time I'd be lucky enough to see one while hunting is if I didn't know it was there, and hence I wouldn't have the permission. Dawg
  21. It is legal to shoot piebald deer, but not albino's or white deer, unless it is taken in a CWD DEZ unit with prior written authorization from the DNR. It's on page 16 under possession. Dawg
  22. 1) What brand of scent control apparel are you familiar with? - ScentLok - X-Static - ScentBlocker 2) What is the brand of scent control garment that you have purchased within the last year? - ScentLok 3) What was the main reason for your selection of this brand? - Scent Control Performance 4) What type of odor control are you most interested in? - Antimicrobial - Adsorption I sweat alot, and odor control means alot to me. 23. I am a stander nowadays, but have participated in hundreds of drives. Safety is Very important. Knowing where to put the standers is critical for constant success. We drive areas according to wind direction, but sometimes the deer will try to cut between drivers if there is too much noise. It's not uncommon to have a deer walk right out to a stander, and look back to try to figure what to do next. Driving is an excellent way to put some meat on the pole. Dawg
  24. Around the 27th of October this year you should see some nice pre-rut activity, if it stays on the cool side. Around the first weekend in November should be the turning point from pre-rut into the chase phase, if the weather stays on the cool side. Full rut should start about a week after that. If it gets really warm as has happened in some years, they will just do thier main activities after dark when it cools down some. Dawg
  25. Don't sweat about it Gunny. I had mine done 17 years ago, and within 2 hours I went ice fishing for pike. Not much pain at all. My little girl was trying to jump on my lap later in the evening, but I managed to deflect her enough to clear the area. Dawg
