  1. Thank you very much RT! The contest is always a highlight year in and year out!
  2. Thank you very much to Realtree for the gift certificate! Also congrats to all the winners and thanks again William for running the contest. It's definitely a main reason that I stick around every year as it's always an enjoyable activity!
  3. I believe there are several deer very close deer to each other. I would give the nod to the bow kills but that's as far as I'm going to go.
  4. Rhino's story was awesome of the recovery for his buddies deer.
  5. I'm still grinding it out here in Indiana. It's been brutal cold recently forcing deer to the feed. Maybe something new will show up.
  6. Yep I have 45 days of season left. Highly doubtful I shoot another buck though.
  7. 60 degrees this weekend so deer hunting is out. Looks like I might try to knock a few ducks down instead.
  8. Some yearlings will trickle in and unbred does are cycling a second time now.
  9. Another slow weekend. Unfortunately I saw one of my good young 8's with an arrow still stuck in his rear end. I would have put him down but it was too dark to shoot. This is another year where too many good young deer are dying. It's not looking too promising for the future.
  10. NY & TG- make sure to get those deer entered in the contest.
  11. Hey Casey, I'm up in Northeast Indiana.
  12. Casey Corn is very hard to grow like a farm field. The ears usually don't produce as well unless you are a farmer and really know what your doing. Is recommend standing beans. In an area like this you will need 3 acres. I know that seems like a lot but my two 1 acre plots within /00 yards of each other got browsed to the ground this year.
  13. Atta boy!!!! We have the ball rolling downhill now!!!!!!
  14. Same for me with an upgrade. I have until 1/31 to hunt but unless I new deer shows up I won't shoot one with more scorable points.
  15. Casey, I would recommend 1/2 acre of clover and 1 acre of brassicas as a minimum.
  16. Poor bullet expansion will let a deer go a long way. I watched a buddy double lung a broadside doe at 50 yards with a powerbelt. 3 hours later and several hundred yards we found her. Upon starting to field dress her she immediately started bleeding, I.E. She was technically still alive with a heart beat. Both lungs had holes through them but they were still inflated. One of the craziest things I've seen while hunting. I would have never believed it if I wasn't there to see it first hand.
