that was actually a cool question b/c I never thought about that if your hunting is a really swampy area and a blood trail......
-
I'm sure they will change this just like they changed the letoff rule from 65%. With technology moving forward they also have to adapt with the changes. If they are so concerned about it helping hunters why don't they just raise the inch limit higher???? Anyway yes I killed my first buck for P&Y this year and plan on entering him, but I don't plan on entering again unless I make B&C status for the next one.....

Well men the whitetail season is over for me, but I'm leaving this weekend for Missouri to bowhunt Russian Boars for a TV show. It should be pretty cool. I've never hunted hogs before and I'm ready to make some bacon!!! I'll post some pics when I get back. -
good looking deer

but you never know that sign might be there b/c you haven't put any scent into the woods.........

Shockwaves are bone crushing...

Here's the entry hole on the doe I shot this morning. I have noticed the blood trail not being as good as a shotgun, but then again your shooting a smaller bullet. My exit wounds have both been smaller than the entry holes as well...This girl was shot at approx 130 yards and she made it about 80. It entered in that shoulder, took off half the heart, lungs and a piece of liver before exiting about half way back on far side... -
not sure, but I was embarassed for him. That was classless in my opinion and someone should have yanked him off the stage and he shouldn't be invited back.....

Those big old does are just as hard to kill as a mature buck. Congrats!

nice deer, but if your gonna show him off with your first post at least tell us a little bit about him before not visiting again:rolleyes:

Need a lil help from Non-Wisconsin Deer hunters...

Indiana went to a one buck rule in 2002 I believe and at first I was upset about that, but after seeing the results first hand I'm completely behind this decision. Where I hunt this has allowed several deer to grow a little bit b/c we have several hunters that would take 2 bucks per year. Usually shooting the first average buck that came by and then not wanting to eat a gun tag killing another one. I've be far seen a big increase in the size and number of mature bucks in my area. I actually wish Indiana would impliment a earn-a-buck, or a 4 on one side restriction as well..... -
Nice deer.........

Well I think I wrapped up my season this morning. I killed my 4th deer of the year. This was with the muzzleloader and kinda fun. She entered the woods at the same place where I walked in at and smelled me then picked me off when I turned. She flagged and started to run but for some reason she stopped to look at me again somewhere around 130-150 yards out and that was a fatal mistake for her. I slammed her right in the front shoulder and it was over for her. Took half her heart straight off, not split, just gone! She was a nice one at that going 130 lbs on our home scale dressed....I'm shooting a Traditions Pursuit XLT with 250 grain TC shockwaves. This is th second deer I have killed with this gun and load and the load specifically is brutal in terms of devestation. If you haven't tried these bullets, you might want to.... -
below P&Y but just barely...Unfortunately I think he's a buck I would kill in the woods and experience ground shrinkage on.....
-
same for me as I killed my buck on Nov 2nd and was basically done, but I still hunted a little during shotgun and I didn't see a single buck running a doe this season...Same for deer from the roads. I spend a great deal of time driving during the day and saw nothing this year.... I thought I was just crazy until I read this post and see other guys seeing the same thing I did....You never know this second rut might be the place this season.......

This is what we voted in office...Now we all gotta stand up to stop this.... The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacturer in a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo). They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun! This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington. To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

I try to trick my mind going into the woods and while hunting. Even if I know I want to kill a doe I will tell myself before the hunt and when I see the doe that I'm not going to shoot. I try to not think about shooting until the deer is well within range. That helps me calm my nerves. I've had the same problem you have had before. On my first buck I didn't get the bow pulled back till the 3rd time trying!!! Now I also just try to tell myself no biggie, it's just a deer...It doesn't always work, but sometimes it does......

I'd believe it.......

That's awesome!

I killed two deer this season with Easton's Tracer nocks. One was a doe at 33 yards at last light and she didn't see it coming. The other was a 3.5 year old buck at 35 yards and he didn't even know what hit him. He ran away and stood at 60 yards looking back....
-
that's a nice deer for sure.....
-
nice buck but I thinke he's just 2.5 old....Be a great one next year
