maybe this is why you shouldn't judge people on what they kill...... Every hunter has his own reasons for hunting and NOT EVERYONE is in the woods to kill big bucks. Some just like the experience................

congrats

way to continue the search and congrats on finding here...

oh sweet jesus that's a hog!!!!!!!!!! Well team that's the third 8 or bigger to fall for our team!!!We got a real shot at winning this thing if we can get everyone to at least get a tag on a doe now.... Seriously that thing makes mine looks like child's play....... -
To each his own right to make a educated decision on this election, but all you obama voters who failed to look at the facts about his past.......just wait....Your right we are in for a change my friends.......just not the change you thought you voted in...............
-
we just elected a former muslim with radical ties to a known terrorist group...Then there's getting rid of the secret ballot, taxing small business..... What ppl failed to realize is that this bs about taxing the rich business owners will bite us in the rear end b/c they are rich for a reason......They will just pass those increased taxes on to the consumer via increased price of goods sold.....
-
I think 4 will be all he gets..Just wait til he tries to get rid of the secret ballot and tax small businesses more...Not to mention his other socialist tendencies.... Does anyone realize we just elected a former muslim with terrorist group radical ties to the white house????????

IMO she's dead. It's just a matter of how far she went. A gut shot deer with a bow will stay alive considerably longer than one with a gun in most cases but either way it's lethal...She probably is gonna head for water as that makes them quite thirsty.....at 40 this evening she will be fine if you find her in the morning. Good luck.......

lol yep, but what I hate the worst is when your pouring it out and you get in on your glove or better yet your hand.....LOL I end up doing that every darn year...Then you already know what you end up doing and that's smelling it like 10 different times while your up in the stand, like your thinking it magically gonna go away.....

Well I have over 100 pics of this guy on the trail cams and I yesterday morning I got to pose in a pic with him!!!! This guy has been very visible on the trail cam on night pics and I knew I was in his core area. I saw him twice this year but not closer than 60 yards. I've had my climber hung for about three weeks on the same tree and only hunted it twice. Well the third time was the charm yesterday morning. Got up in there and about 7:35 I looked to my southwest and saw him at about 50 yards. I wasn't sure at first, then he turned his head and I knew immediately which buck he was. The "perfect 8" is what I named him. I never stood up. He came behind some trees at about 35 yards and I drew my bow sitting down. He stepped out and I gave him the maaaaaaa and he stopped. I let the FMJ's with a shuttle T-lock and tracer nock fly! That bad boy lit up and disappeared perfect behind the shoulder. He gave a big ole mule kick and ran about 45 yards and stopped and looked back. He had no clue what hit him. Then I see that tail flick and small bobble and he took off. As he was going away he ran into a small tree and I knew he was in trouble. He disappeared at about 80 yards away. It was funny I was shaking so bad that when I called my dad to tell him he girlfriend was standing like 5 feet away and she could hear my breathing in the phone! I gave him a 1:30 even though my arrow went straight through him and stuck in the log behind him and was covered literally in blood. We trailed him and 100 yards later he was mine.... It's been a goal of mine for the last 3 years to get a pope and young buck down with a bow. I've killed bigger with a gun, but not a bow. Well from they rough measurements that I've got he should gross a little over 130 inches and he is so symetrical I should have the job done!!! I don't think I've ever been so excited about a deer I've killed. I can't stop smiling. I know he isn't huge by any means, but when you work so hard for something it's such a great feeling to accomplish your goal. He field dressed at 174 lbs and they figure him to be either 3.5 or 4.5 years old. He is definitely on the way to the taxidermist later today when they get him caped out. We also are almost positive this is the deer that my dad and I both passed on last year on opening day of shotgun season. He looks identical except he added about 15 inches of total score this year.......Now it's time to work on a few more does... Pat

This morning was good to me. With that hour earlier wake up I wasn't sure when the alarm went off, but I managed to roll out and get in. Ver overcast and cold this morning. Nothing was moving until 7:30 when I turned to my southwest and saw movement. I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a rack and grabbed the bow. As he closed in to 40 yards he turned and I saw the spread and immediately knew he was the 8 that I have about 200 pics of. He went behind some trees and I drew without standing up. he came out the other side and stopped. At 30 yards I let the arrow fly. he did a monster mule kick and ran about 45 yards and looked back. He had no clue what hit him. Then his tail flicked and a little bobble and he ran off and run a tree down on the way. That's when I knew he was in trouble. At first I thought I hit him a little far back, so we gave him 1:30 hrs. When I recovered the arrow that blew straight through him and stuck in the log I knew we were golden. It was covered in bright lung blood. after trailing him for about 100 yards I had my prize... This is the biggest buck I've killed with a bow and my second biggest overall. It's been 4 years since I laid my hands on a buck like this and the wait was well worth it. I couldn't be happier. He will be on the way to the taxidermist very soon and be the 3rd one on the way...even though I know there are two bigger ones out there, this guys was one I just couldn't let walk. We figure he will dress at about 180 lbs and be 3.5 years old...GL everyone else, but this hunter is tagged out on bucks and now it time to slam a few more does.... Here he is.... -
Well I made my decision this morning and it was a easy one....I stuck him!!!!! I'll get some pics up soon!!!!

Well guys it all came together for me this morning! After hunting hard the past few weeks I was able to put a big eight on the ground! I have over 200 pics of this guy and it's a great feeling to put him down. If you all remember, I stated that my goal was a P&Y this year and I got it done. Pics and story will be soon to follow.... -

That's a nice buck!! Congrats -
That arrow could be lodged in the far shoulder and it could be real...but my first thought was a chop job, but then again we are all conditioned to think neagtively until proven otherwise with hunting pictures like this.......unfortunate but true

he's good. He's 160-170 and the 8 is prob 130 or so....
