  1. All I can say, is was the lease ever hunted before ?!?!? Wow.......incredible deer that have been showing up already......it's looking to be a good season for you guys !!!!
  2. I'm gonna try and pass on him....it's just to bad that the nieghboring properties get absolutely hammered during rifle season..........this buck (and others) don't stand much of a chance of ever seeing their potential.......and this buck has a ton of it..........sadly, he probably won't live to see another year, just for the fact that he is so good for such a young deer.
  3. That's actually what I've been thinking.....135-140ish......hardest thing to judge on him is the mass.......I figure his G1s are 4", G2s are 9", G3s are 11", G4s are 4" (average between them) and his mains are 20" range, and a 16" inside spread.......throw in 30" of mass and I come up with 142" gross Sure some of those numbers are gonna be a little different, but I like to keep things simple, and it's normally not far off............I've just never been one of those guys that like a narrow rack, and if this buck was another 2-3 inches wider, he would be a "look no further" kinda buck.........No doubt he would make a great bowkill, but I would of course like to hold out for something a little wider and a little bigger, LOL........it's kinda hard not to after last year Keep the opinions and scores a coming................
  4. No Nets....nets are for fish, LOL......wanna here Gross scores
  5. I'm never one to be very good at judging bucks in velvet, so I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on this buck. He's got great G3s, and good G2s and 4s, but his brows suck, and he is narrow, but his main beams nearly touch................I'm gonna include pics from many angles, and see what you can come up with. He's the best buck to show up so far, and even though i know there are bigger bucks in the area, I haven't seen them yet..........so for now I'm gonna focus on this deer a bit........
  6. That frist deer definitely looks heavier......I say they are different deer....
  7. Use this thread to post your tuning tips and tricks.....from bows to sites, to arrows and broadheads.....if you've got some useful information, let's here them so that everyone can benifit
  8. WTN, and that's exactly what I think leaves so many deer wounded and loaded into a truck.....it's not a bow that is slightly out of tuned.....or not "micro-tuned"......it's archers who don't pick up or draw there bows until season is nearly upon them, or even already open. This thread has about run it's useful course, because it is like arguing over carbons or aluminums.....fixed blades or mechanicals....yadda-yadda-yadda.......and MB_SQ2, Chevy's are better LOL I started an informational thread, on bowtuning, where tips and tricks can be shared, I made it a sticky for all users to view and share info from here on out......it is for useful info only, not debates or arguments....and no further bashing will be tolerated, whether it be towards a Mod, or a Member.......or their choice of how they do things. Remember, it's hunters helping hunters....not hunters criticizing eachother......
  9. Wow...those are cool looking pics.....like waves on the ocean but upside down....
  10. That's exactly what I was gonna say.... Great bucks, some definite no-brainers in that bunch of pics....
  11. That is interesting, because I ran into this for the first time yesterday......I retrieved my cards yesterday, and plugged them into my tower to see what I had for pics......one card had several JPG files, that the computer would not recognize, along with 28 saved images.......another had one unrecognizeable jpg file and no images recorded even though there had been over 90 triggers. Makes sense that it may be time to update to new cards, they've seen a ton of use......kinda sucks, I forgot to mark which ones they were, LOL
  12. Check out all of the trail cam pics in the Photography Room......some huge bucks being posted in there !!!
  13. My experience has been: (1) Digital trail cams = little to no spooking (2) Film cameras = alot of spooking I think on the 35mm cams, it is the sound of the actual camera, film advance, etc...that spooks them
  14. I'm still amazed the guy wasn't killed.....EGAD !!!
  15. The trail cam pics I posted in the Photo Room, are from a sunflower field....now granted I used a supplement site to take pics over, but they've been hitting the flowers hard......and along the field edge where the travel, the first couple of rows are nibbled down to about a foot to 2 foot high....... With the big push for ethanol and more and more farmers planting corn, you're also gonna see guys that normally don't plant flowers, are going to....I think possibly to cash in on a price spike due to demand........I know in this area, all you see now is mostly corn and flowers......some grains, but mostly row crops....never been like that before....
  16. No not yet....I'm gonna wait to see what pops up in the next couple of weeks, but if nothing better shows up, I think I will try to slip an arrow into that old buck i have posted up above....I rteally like those mainbeams even though he won't score all that well........but I'm not locking myself into one yet
  17. Thanks for the kind words everyone.....the old wrist is pretty sore right now, looks like it will be a multi-ibuprofin night, LOL.......but thankfully it isn't any worse, glory to God for that....
  18. Boy did I just luck out........I've been busting my hump for the past two weeks getting my Archery business and indoor range going in hopes of opening in a week. Well this morning that involved loading up all of my scrap wood and lumber on to a trailer and hauling it out to the burn pile at the dumpground..... Well since my leg injury two years ago, I've been extra careful on not getting hurt or doing stupid things that could get me hurt...........until today.......as I was throwing all of the junk wood off of the trailer, and of course it had to be the last piece, which was a section of old wooden lockers.......I flipped them off end over end, but the wind grabbed them and blew them back my direction....as I tried to catch the top of it to push it back over, an unseen nail (pointed end) drove right into my right wrist, cutting about 3/4 of an inch and driving probably another 3/4-1" under the skin....crossways where the veins and arteries are....... It left a pretty good gaping nhole, but missed anything major......I came home and doctored myself up....showed the kids cause they of course had to see, and then I proceeded to hop online to let you all know how God watched over me today.........I think it scared me more than hurt, although it is throbbing pretty good right now........I'm good on my tetanus shot due to my leg two years ago, LOL....and I cleaned it up good and squirted some Triple Antibiotic on it with a good bandage to go....... God had my back, and I was one lucky individual this morning......now I gotta get back to work, gonna be a little more careful to boot.......Clay
  19. I know, I know....normally I have posted a whole bunch of trail cam pics by now, but I didn't have any cams this year until just recently.....I put them out last week, and this is what showed up in the first 5 days.... This is the first time I have ever gotten a drop-tine buck on film....he is only a youngin', but I can't wait to keep tabs on him over the enxt couple years.... Another pic of "Drop-Tine"...... Here is a big old buck that I think I had pics of last year....looks like he may be on his way down, but talk about awesome main beam length..... And here's a couple more nice younger bucks, both have great tine length, but could use a little more width and mass.........hopefully they can make it another year......... Just ignore the date stamp on some of those pics....apparently I forgot to set it in my rush to get them hung up.....I've got a habit of that through the year, LOL
  20. That buck is better than 160....my guess is closer to 180 gross......and to have that many pics of him is unheard of....kinda brings ol "Leroy" back to mind.....
  21. Is that left browtine bladed, or is it split ?? Awesome deer !!!
  22. I'm waiting to hear back from KTMMike, to see what he thinks.....I'll keep you posted......Clay

  24. A customer I recently sold a LR digital cam to, has a problem with the cam, and wondering if any of you had possibly had a similar problem......out of the 30-40 LR cams I have had through the years, this is the only one I have had any problems with....I can't help thinking it is simple...........here's what he says: Do you guys think you may have any ideas, or may have run into this before ??? Clay
