  1. Re: Set up question Why 125 grain tips? I would think 75 or 100 grains would be better for that short draw length and low weight. But I could be wrong. I would say stick within 30 yards. You'll probably be losing a lot of energy by the time you get much past 30 yards. But, you should be fine from that distance and in.
  2. Re: This is why Junior got fined. Complaint filed. I'll put my Sociology knowledge (or lack or) to work here. I can almost guarantee that the people that are most outraged is rich people. Rich people often extend the childhood of their children long after it should be over. More than likely, the angered people are rich with probably 16 year-old kids, thinking that their world is coming to an end. Ugh! I don't know how NASCAR can consider themselves a "family sport?" They got their beginning hauling shine around! All I know is those folks better never go to a race.

    The Flu Shot?!?!

Re: The Flu Shot?!?! Never had one, but it wouldn't hurt if I did. I usually get the flu for a week each spring. I went about 4 years without but then I did again this past spring. Actually, when the Pack lost to Philly (4th & 26) was the second day I had it.
  4. Re: When you get deer... The two deer I've shot have been in opposite extremes. My first doe with a gun was on a cold, really windy and snowy day. My bow doe was on a warm, calm, sunny day. My best bowhunting days are probably when temperatures are in the 30-50 degree range with no to light wind. The cloud cover doesn't really seem to make a lot of difference.
  5. Re: Biggest Trophy..!? Doe, October 25, 2001. Savage 110 .30-06 during the early Wisconsin T-Zone. It was bigger than my bow kill because it was a lot later in the year.
  6. Re: what would you do....Tony et al.... I heard there is a new 2005 ProTec, with the Triax Pocket Stabilization System. Sounds like a great new "revamped" bow. I know if I went with a target/3D bow, now I'd have a heck of a time deciding between an UltraTec and ProTec. Thought I heard Hoyt dropped the RazorTec, SuperTec and DynaTec. I guess they have something similar to the XTEC called the VTEC, I believe. Can't wait to see them on their site!
  7. Re: This is why Junior got fined. Complaint filed. Think it's just a matter of time before beer is outlawed as a sponsor? Like no one has every heard the "s" word before.

    questions

Re: questions Yep. I find that if we bait, they start hitting it at night, but after a week or two, then they'll use it during the day also.
  9. Re: Appeals Committee upheld penalty Amen to the bowtie! I don't remember back to 1990. Somone like RTF might remember though.
  10. Re: What happened to the Detriot Lions today?? [ QUOTE ] All of you that were calling for Coach Sherman's heads....where are you now? [/ QUOTE ] Yes sir! I was wondering where all the Sherman haters went also. You know what Sherman said to the Packers? He repeated it on ESPN. He said "Our backs are so far up against the wall we have splinters in our a**."

    bows

Re: bows The best thing to do is go to a proshop and shoot it. You can just look at a bow and get an idea of it. I had my heart set on a RazorTec, but when I went to the shop for the first time, even though I didn't shoot anything, I changed my mind to the XTEC. I would say that you should go to a proshop first and see what they offer. They'll help you out. If you are just a beginner, or a youth, I wouldn't spend a lot, because chances are that you'll out-grow the bow within a year or two. I bought my first bow in 2002. By this spring, I had already out-grown it. Just something to think about. I know I wouldn't want to get a $1000 rig just to use it for a couple years and out-grow it.

    bow suggestions

Re: bow suggestions Well, if you don't have a lot to spend, then I'd suggest something like the Hoyt UltraMag. It is made with a different material so it is a lot lower in price, but from what I hear, it shoots great. Also, maybe check out some of the Reflex bows, which are owned by Hoyt. They are basically a re-vamped version of older Hoyt bows. I like carbon arrows myself. They are a lot more durable than aluminum, because they can't bend. I love Muzzy broadheads. The trocor tip is certainly bad to the bone. And, get a release. It does two things. It makes you draw with your forearm, which allows you to draw higher weights. Plus, it gives you the same release everytime. With fingers, you could roll your fingers off the string different every time.

    JimT=Choker

Re: JimT=Choker Were they laughin' at you? That's why it's hunting and not killing. Who knows, your bow could have been bumped somewhere or some other mechaincal problem.

    Fred Bear TRX

Re: Fred Bear TRX LOL Mark! Yeah, I've been pondering that for almost 3 years.
  17. Re: Purdue Yes they'll be in a bowl game. But, if they can get by NW, I think they'll be alright. But, if they bobble, this will be the game.
  18. Re: What happened to the Detriot Lions today?? I wouldn't get too excited. I don't think they'll win more than 6 or 7 this year (GB).
  19. Re: Appeals Committee upheld penalty Yep, I saw that too. It'll be a shame if he loses the championship because of it. But, like he said on his ESPN interview, if that happens, there will be an * by that person.

    found scrapes

Re: found scrapes We've found several scrapes along the edge of a soy bean field. A bunch of rubs too. Just a couple more weeks I think!
  23. Re: New HOYT UltraTec trade for a Bowtech or MathewsLX To be honest, that is really a dream target/3D bow for me. It would fit me PERFECTLY. I would be able to offer you a good amount of money, but I can't right now. Sorry.
  24. Re: NASCAR Die-Casts No, here is the real reason. You see that the DEI cars have switched to a short "E-Stripe" this year. I already have both of those cars, but with the long stripes of last year. I emailed a company that had pictures of them with a short stripe. They told me they DID have them with the short stripe. Guess what, they were long stripes. And, they don't accept returns. I'm using them in a bucket raffle for a good cause. A few people on here know what it is, but I don't really want everyone to know just yet.
