What kind of gun do you use? deer
Chrud replied to The_Kat's topic in Nick Beacham's Youth & Hunting Room
Re: What kind of gun do you use? deer A junk Savage 110 .30-06. I would like a T/C Encore. It's not cheap, but at $300 for additional barrels, thats fine with me. -

Re: lil blonde deer killer OMG! Hint hint. -
Re: Whats Your Reason? I thought the Pocono race was pretty boring. I'd like to see them be 400 mile races instead. Pretty interesting thing I noticed. I have TrackPass turned on during the race, to listen to driver radios. You know when TNT said "we just found out that Junior will be making the driver change." Well, that was about 7 minutes after they talked about it on the radio. I'm surprised TNT wasn't a little quicker to report it. The convo went something like "I can finish the race, but if we are going to switch drivers, now is the time to do it. My left leg is numb and I can't feel the breaks." Plus, his car was junk. When they talk about drivers screaming on the radio about loose cars, they don't lie.

Re: Whats Your Reason? Yep, but thats minor. He'll only be ahead by 5, if he can stay ahead.

Re: Whats Your Reason? And most of the time, it's an engine or some other mechanical failure.

lil blonde deer killer

Re: lil blonde deer killer I hear ya Nick. Actually, I seen her picture in an outdoor magazine a while back. That was a good accomplishment, considering her buck was bigger than my brother's. -
Re: Whats Your Reason? I like this post. It really shows how Junior fans truely outnumber Gordon fans. I've only counted 1 or 2 so far. Could have sworn there were more. I have to add Greg Biffle to my list too. He did drive a Chevy last year in Busch and probably will next year. He's a good guy and a heck of a driver, when not snake bitten.

Re: Whats Your Reason? Kinda like Gordon did twice to Rusty at Bristol?
-
Re: Whats Your Reason? Quick question, did you ever watch a Busch race in 1998 or 1999? If you didn't, then you missed a big thing. Junior's crowd reactions were just as big back then. I don't think that Senior's death caused Junior's popularity to go up either. People that like one are pretty much 100% going to like the other just as much. When Sr died, Junior's popularity didn't sky rocket because of that, but his role went through the roof. He had to become NASCAR's superstar to replace it's past superstar, Dale Sr.

Re: Whats Your Reason? Good lord, JG drives a Chevy! Man, I gotta get a NASCAR broadcasting job! I do like what you said DSGB. Junior knew that Dale's crash was bad, got out of his car and ran to his dad's.

Re: Whats Your Reason? TDH, I need to make a fact correction for you too, because it's the right thing to do. Reckless Robby Gordon got his first win at Loudon where he did a sweet bump and run on Jeff Gordon. Now, do you like his first win?! I could have sworn that there were more than one Jeff Gordon fan on these Forums. I figured there was a reason for bashing Dale Jr. I'm just curious yet MH. What do you consider to be a real racer? A real person driving a real car really good? Because, that describes every driver in NASCAR.

Re: Whats Your Reason? I have to comment because not all your facts are correct. Jimmie Johnson is in his 3rd year. I don't understand what you mean by "getting away with stuff". He got a $25,000 fine and a 25 point deduction for it. Tony Stewart got that plus another $25,000 for punching someone. I would definately say Junior didn't get away with that. Junior's wins: Daytona (2) Talladega (4) Texas (1) Lowe's (1 - Winston) Richmond (2) Atlanta (1) Phoenix (1) Dover (1) Thats 7-6 in favor of unrestricted tracks. At least one Gordon fans has made their case so far.

Re: Whats Your Reason? Probably should have added more to mine. My Favorites: Dale Sr/Jr - Already explained Jr. Sr was the greatest. He will always be the greatest. He was also a great sportsman and family man. Michael Waltrip - Teammate of Dale Jr. Very funny on camera. Doesn't get near the credit he should. Heck of a driver, not just on plate tracks. Kevin Harvick - Took over the greatest ride ever in NASCAR. He has a little "Intiminator" showing in him. Agressive, but doesn't wreck people let and right, like the 20 car. Martin Truex Jr - The next big thing, trust me. Drives for Dale Jr. Awesome driver in the Busch Series. He will be huge once in Nextel Cup in 2006. Elliott Sadler - Just a good guy. Big into hunting too. Does a lot of great things, especially for his niece. Other Dislikes: Kurt Busch - Whines too much. Doesn't think most wrecks are his fault. Wrecks his teammates too. Kyle Busch - Dweeb. The Kid isn't nearly as good as he could be. Needs a lot of growing and maturing. Rusty - I don't not like him that much, but I don't like him either. Whines and complains about every little thing NASCAR does. Puts a lot of blame on other drivers. You know TT, I was going to say that about JG, but I thought I'd be nice in this post. I'm just waiting for more Gordon fans to reply. It's almost likes its difficult to get a nice post from them.

Obviously there is a big dispute about who you guys like and don't like. So, whats your reason for not liking a driver? The two drivers I like the least are Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon, in that order. The 48 is way too cocky. Anytime he gets into an accident, its always someone elses fault. Rockingham for example. He and Kenny Schrader make contact sending the 48 into the wall. It wasn't a racing thing to JJ though, Kenny shouldn't have been out on the track. And at Dover. Michael and Dave Blaney make contact and Jimmie can't avoid it. But, aparantly, the 15 and 23 (at the time) were just being idiots. Hmm. So a 2 time Daytona 500 Champion is an idiot? And Jeff Gordon. I tell ya, I don't like the guy, be he can drive a car. He had that stretch of 30+ wins in a short amount of time. I was getting tired of him winning every week and I still don't like him. I don't like some of his actions either. Like jumping all over KS at Darlington. The guy got spun, he's not going to dive down through traffic just so the 24 can get by. So, there are my reasons for why I don't like those guys. Now, why I like Dale Jr. He's the son of the greatest driver of all time. He worked his way up through local racing, up to Busch and now Cup. He hasn't had everything givin to him like some think. He's a great driver and seems like a pretty cool dude, based on his DVD. Now, let's see if any Gordon fans can get through a post without saying 8 sucks.

Re: What do you do While on Stand Look for deer. If I'm not looking around, then I'll usually read a book or play a handheld game.

Re: how good of a shot? My bow 'n arra will kill an elk, with no problems to my shoulder, or damage to ears.
-
Re: how good of a shot? I believe ya too YB. If I shot at 400 yards so I knew where to hold, I think I might be able to do it, but I don't know. We have a good shooting bench design, and that gun is rock solid. That sure is a heck of a shot YB. I'll applaud you, rather than say you can't do it.
-
Re: how good of a shot? What kind of ammo are you shooting Kyle? I looked at my Federal Premium catalog at the Vital Shok .270 ammo. The least drop at 400 yards I found was 18.9". Either way, thats a great shot! I don't know if I could do that.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here. I think things will be better now. I'm going to 2nd shift, so I can only shoot Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. I can shoot by myself, but I'll try to get a buddy to go with me. My brother is always in a rush, so maybe if I can take my time, things will be better. At least I know what I did wrong, so I know what to do better next time.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Bowhunter's Unlimited Outdoor 3D League - Hunter's Class - Week 2 Week 2 of my 3D League wasn't good at all. I will give my brother credit, he got a 200. It was hot and humid, so that had me mad. I got home from work and decided to shoot a little. I did alright at home, but not like usual. The mosquitoes were terrible, I mean swarms around everyone and everything. I completely blew it on a couple shots, getting 5's, and forgot to judge the distance on the elk. I got a 5 on that too, but I was just getting more and more mad. Hot, humid, sweating, mosquitoes, it just didn't make for a good night. I ended up with a 171, 10 points off of last week.

Re: how good of a shot? Like I say in a lot of replies to Tony, it must be that Hoyt ProTec with the Cam & 1/2 Performance System and XT Somthingorother thousand limbs!

Re: how good of a shot? I make so much money, I'll pay for all kinds of gas for you two! I'm very, very good with a bow. I'm about a 1" to 1 1/2" group at 20 yards, 1 1/2" to about a 2" group at 30 yards, and not much more than a 2 1/2" group at 40 yards. I did whoop on my big brother last night in the first week of our bow league. Just think now Lil, you say Nick missed a deer at 9 yards. Michael Waddell missed a buck at 6 yards. So, I'd say it can happen to anyone.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Bowhunter's Unlimited Outdoor 3D League - Hunter's Class - Week 1 I shot a 181, my big brother had a 171. I had three 12's and several 10's and 8's. I had a 5 on the last target. It was pouring rain suddenly, so I just kind of took a quick shot. I'm happy with that. I made dumb mistakes, I should have been closer to 190. I'm thinking I can get 200 at least once this year.
