Yup X2 Too bad, really. I don't know if there has ever been this much of an issue with the contest until this year. And, also the amount of fun taken out of it.:bang: Too bad that a few can ruin it for all.:hammer1: -

Nope. I'm not going to be able to get out anymore for late season either. -
A got those pictures in an email a while back. That is a huge buck!

He's baaaack! I'm surprised it took this long, but the old Brett and his ego have arrived in Minnesota. Since "Chilly" is actually trying to do his job, coach the team and keep that QB under control, I wonder if 'ol Brett will get upset and go to Detroit to stick it to Minnesota? It is amazing how Favre's personality does a complete 180 when the coach/team/organization doesn't bend over backwards and do 'ol Brett says. Heck, that is why he got so bent out of shape and made his own soap opera in Green Bay. Drama Queen.

Uh oh.

Congrats to the both of you!

Merry Christmas!

Excellent buck William! Congrats!

Colts vs. Eagles Colts win.

The game was in OT. The team played well enough to keep the game tied and give them a chance to win in OT. It wasn't until OT when FAVRE threw an INT that gave New York great field position and setup the game-winning field goal. It was the first posession of OT and only the first or second play of OT. Because of Favre's INT, NY took over already in field goal range and didn't give GB a chance to win. And Muggs is right (again). After last night, we finally found out who the real coach of Minnesota is... "Chilly...pick me up at the airport." "Chilly...go get me some Taco Bell." "Chilly...I'm staying in the game and I'm 'irked' at you." Minnesota, meet Brett Favre's ego. Funny how Vikings fans all saw it when he was with Green Bay, but now the same scenarios are playing out and Vikings fans don't even realize it. I just hope I didn't seem so out-of-touch when Favre was my QB.
-
Um...who threw the ball to a wide-open NY defender? Was that the first play of OT? I'm sick of people blaming everyone but 'ol Brett.
-
Not bitter at all. Again, Minnesota has only defeated 3 teams win winning records (at this point) this season. One of those teams is 7-6 right now. Two of those were against GB, who were 2-1 and 4-2 and giving up 5+ sacks a game at those times. It'll be interesting what happens when they play some tougher competition, like Arizona.
-
BOOM! Muggsy bringin' the thunder! I agree with Muggs, Favre will end up costing the team. Back in '07 he was having one of his best seasons. They get the NFC Championship at Lambeau and Favre throws an INT that costs them the game. The best thing Minnesota has going for them is that they won't be playing outside at all. I don't think Minnesota will be able to hang with New Orleans. Heck, I'd put Minnesota as #3 in the NFC behind NO and Philly. Something no one is really talking about...who has Minnesota beat besides Green Bay? And they got GB twice when the team was still pretty bad (I would put GB as #4 or #5 in the NFC). Cincinnati and that is about it. The only other "contender" they've played is Arizona and they got throttled by the Cards. With the schedule Minnesota has, along when the weather conditions they've played in, they should be 11-2. Brett has already accomplished what he wanted to (I really hope Vikings fans don't think Favre came to MN because he wanted to help that team). Vikings fans can be very happy they won't have to play in Philly, New York or Green Bay in the playoffs.:hammer1:

The Wall's set has been sold.

I have the same opinion, but mine is across the board. I think Danica will be a huge failure in stock cars. It makes sense that she drives for Earnhardt Jr though. Both have been put in the best equipment and still are mid-pack drivers at best. This deal will make Danica and Dale Jr both a TON of money, so it is a brilliant business decision by both.

I agree. In the last two seasons I've seen three really nice bucks in daylight, and was able to put an arrow through one of them. On our Cuddebacks this year, my brother and I have five or six ligament shooter bucks. In the past, one or two was something to get pretty pumped up about. Agreed. I agree, and I'm one that did shoot a small buck this year. With the hot temperatures for the first three weeks of November, plus the lack of does, it wasn't good. Because of the lack of does, I wasn't able to get one early in the archery season, and for the reasons I just said, I did shoot a small buck with my bow for meat. And since we were going to be "buck only" during gun season, I knew my chances at any deer in the next few weeks were going to be few and far between. My standards went out the window this year. Agreed, even though my buck would have broke that rule this year.

My brother and I hunt in Unit 43. There were zero antlerless tags available in that zone this year. Here is a copy of something I posted on another forum. This was in response to a member saying: My response: I do agree with that, even in our area. While 20% to 40% below the goal seems like a lot, I certainly would not call it catastrophic. My brother and I hunt about 155 acres, and the best bedding areas are on the neighboring properties. That said, on our trail cameras this year we had at least 12 to 15 different bucks, including 5 or 6 that were shooters. Of those bucks, I managed to see 4 of them in daylight. As far as the does, we have only seen about 2 or 3 adult does this year, on camera or while hunting. So I can understand why the DNR didn't have any available antlerless tags in our zone this year. My next statement was in response to: My response: I disagree with you on that. Reason being our zone has never been an EAB zone. I've been hunting 43 since 2004 and it might have been an "EAB Watch" zone one year and that has been it. There has never been an abundance of shooting in our area during gun season, and I don't think any of the neighbors bow hunt. We had quite a few does last year, so I'm not sure why this year there is such a sudden drop in the doe population. Well, I do have an opinion, but the DNR wouldn't listen to it. Now for the rest of my observations for Unit 43... The early archery season was fine. Both my brother and I saw quite a few deer, about the same or maybe more than last year. The daylight activity really shut down and the rut seemed pretty non-existent this year, and I think a lot of that has to do with the 50 and 60 degree temperatures we had from the first of November all the way into the gun season. I'm sure most of the rutting activity was at night. I think the lack of does also had a huge factor in it. If I were to guess, I would say the buck-to-doe ratio in our area this year was probably 3-1 in favor of the bucks. Not a good sign. The gun season was very slow. I did see a total of 7 deer, while hunting 4 1/2 days. Of those deer, 3 were the first night while walking out and the other 4 were while I hunting my food plot later in the week. All were does, so they were all off limits. My brother hunted a lot, every day I think. He only saw 3 deer, all of them while walking out. I wouldn't be surprised if 43 is "buck only" during the gun season again next year.

Nice buck! Hopefully my points will be added soon. TT sent me a PM saying he couldn't see the picture of my deer. I could, but I did change the host for the pic edited the post. -
Glad you had a good time, William. I guess Randy is an OK fella. :clown: It's too bad the weather wasn't better. I've never seen a "hot" stretch in November like this. I've seen a couple 60 and 70 degree days, but it has been well above 50 for over a week now.:hammer1:

Nice buck, Joe! Congrats!
-
In my experience, unseasonably warm weather has a negative impact on whitetail activity. This should be prime time in Wisconsin right now, but with temperatures in the 60's the last couple days the daylight deer activity has been very slow.
-
This weather is terrible for bow hunting. The deer haven't been moving much around here either.

I shot a spike buck this morning. Temps are in the 60's, time before gun season is running short and I'm hungry for tenderloin! That is my excuse for throwing my standards out the window. :hammer1: Also, here is a link to a blog I have on Hunting Resource. It has the story of this hunt and an entry for every hunt of mine this year. http://forums.huntingresource.com/index.php?app=blog&module=display§ion=blog&blogid=5&
