Nice looking bow, Randy. I really like the black limbs. I'm seriously considering black limbs on my next bow. If you want something really cool to go with that Hoyt, ask Luke what I sent him with his pint of syrup. Trust me, it would make your setup complete.

Yes it is. Good point. Last year my Switchback's setup was able to shoot right at 290 FPS. I don't know if I'd ever go any faster than that. Once you get up towards 300 FPS, flaws in your form are really magnified. Plus, broadhead tuning can become a problem. For what it's worth, I went with a slightly heavier arrow this year and brought my speed back down to the 280 range. Because the string will likely fail long before any other part of the bow will. A few years ago a buddy of mine dry fired his bow (older Hoyt, back in the single cam days). The whole thing blew up, the cam was bent and both limbs were damaged. The string failed first, and that is why the limbs failed. The cam bent from the string also. When a company claims they can dry fire a bow x amount of times, I'd like to know how many string they went through. I highly doubt any bow would fail from a dry fire, especially with how well today's bows are built. However, I would bet a string would not last for more than two dry fires.

I don't like comparing the Reezen to the AM. It is like apples to oranges. The Reezen is definitely a speed bow, which will cost you in the form of a little extra noise and vibration. The AM is more of a hunting bow. To have a very similar comparasion of a Mathews to the AM, I think you are better off to look at the DXT, Drenalin or S2. All three will be a bit smoother draw and shot compared to the Reezen. None of the three will be quite as fast as the Reezen (the DXT is probably about 8 to 10 FPS slower than the 7.0, which isn't really that much). I've shot the Reezen 6.5, 7.0, AM 32 and 35. Of the bunch, my favorite was the Reezen 7.0. The extra speed is nice, but my Switchback is smoother from the start of the draw cycle all the way through the shot. So, I didn't "upgrade" to the Reezen. The Reezens are very nice bows, but they are a speed bow. You are going to lose some of the smoothness and have more vibration because of the extra speed and the agressive cam (of course a stabilizer and some other damping accessories fix that, as would a heavy arrow). Some folks forget that, especially when comparing them to a bow that is 20 to 25 FPS slower. If you are looking for speed, the Reezen is a great choice. If you are looking for the total hunting package, I would really consider the DXT or Drenalin. Even though the DXT is a 2008 bow and the Drenalin is a 2007 bow, I liked them more than the 2009 AM 32 and 35.

They should adopt the same points system IMCA uses. The winner gets x amount of points (say 100 for simplicity), 2nd gets 99, 3rd gets 98 and so on. Get rid of the "leading a lap" bonus and give the driver who leads the most laps 5 additional points (although there are no bonus points in IMCA). It would be much more difficult to points race with that format. It would keep the points closer too (ie more excitement). They NEED to have double-file restarts also. Stop with the separate pit sequence for lap-down cars. Let them all pit together and let them line up where the come off pit road. That will eliminate the lucky dog rule. If you get a couple laps down, with the double file restarts you can make up those laps in no time if you've got a fast car.

That was the best 1 1/2 mile racing I've seen in a long, long time. The reason, of course, was the short races. I've been saying it for a couple years now...multiple races that are shorter will lead to more exciting and competitive racing. Plus, it would help the team budgets a bit too.

Happy Birthday! Hope it was a good one!

I've had a similar experience with Pandora. My main station was a search result for Avenged Sevenfold. It was fine for about a week. Then a bunch of random clowns started showing up, considered "similar" to A7X. I'm pretty sure Gnarls Barkley and the Beach Boys are not similar to A7X, at all. I even tried putting in a song rather than a band and that wasn't much better. While you'd then get a similar sound, you'd get a bunch of unknown bands.

His main goal is to stick the screws to ya, bud...just sayin'. I have to agree with Muggs. If Favre wants to come back and play again, fine. But is he going to "retire" every year so he can get a release from the team he was on so he can pick and choose where he wants to go to next? I would say his main goal in going to Minnesota is to put the screws to Green Bay's management. My problem is that he wants to come back for the wrong reasons. That beind said, sounds like he'll stay retired. At least for today anyway. -
Happy Birthday Casey! Have a good one!

I hope Favre does sign with Minnesota. That would all but lock-up the division for Green Bay this year. It would be an interesting game at Lambeau. There would be cheers and boos. Not sure which there would be more of, but I can guarantee that stadium would be as loud as ever when he would be introduced. I don't miss him one bit. We have a 1st year starter that threw for over 4000 yards, had 32 combined TD's, is mobile and averaged less than 1 INT per game. I think we'll do fine with the QB we've got. We don't need a 40 year old hack. -
I would definitely go with a metal roof.

Seeing 1/2 the field get taken out on lap 6 is a joke. You can't tell me you can really enjoy the race when you can hardly see the backstretch. And I for one hate plate racing. It completely takes the drivers abilities out of the picture.

You guys quit picking on Ted.

Do you honestly believe California, Michigan, Chicago, Kansas, etc. are better races than Richmond or Bristol?
-
Today's mess just helps hammer home my theory that no oval racing should be allowed on tracks over 1 mile. Rockingham was the best track they ever raced on. The safest answer to Talladega/Daytona would be to get rid of the banking, take off the plates and let them race (restrictor plate "racing" is not racing). But, then you'd have you typical cookie-cutter snoozer like California and Michigan.

At 220 MPH, there is a very good chance the 99 would have gone through or over the catch fence. It is not a matter of what parts might fail, it is a matter of whether or not a driver will walk away. Is there more damage/debris when a car cuts a tire and hits a wall at 170 MPH or 140 MPH? Add 30 MPH to Carl's wreck today and I can all but guarantee you that the wreck, as far as fan and driver safety, would have been much worse. When we had our bad wreck in 2007, the wreck was about 1/3 to 1/2 way down the back stretch, so the cars were going about 85 MPH or so. When our car landed, it was driver side down with the roof facing traffic. Another car plowed into our roof, collapsing the rollcage. Luckily, our driver wasn't hurt. Another 2" lower, or another 20 MPH faster, and I don't think he'd be racing today.

Yes. Congrats to Brad for getting his first win! It is awesome to see an underdog get to victory lane. Carl's wreck brought back some bad memories. When a car gets in the air and into the catch fence, it is very, very scare. Especially when you are just feet from the fence. A couple years ago the car I pit for had a similar incident, getting in the air and into the catch fence, and we were about 50' from the wreck. Scary for sure.

I think GB did very well on Day 1. Their offense is in good shape. The only questions is right tackle. Their biggest problem was defense, mostly injuries. Raji will be good, he could play some DE in the 3-4. I think Matthews was a good move too. I am not sold on Kampman being an OLB, especially coverage. He'll do fine rushing the QB, but Matthews will give some good depth at the OLB. Crabtree would have been an OK move, but I think they are set for WR's. Driver has a few more years left. Martin is very under-rated IMO. He'll make an excellent #3 and Jones will be a solid #4. Jordy Nelson will be a top receiver when he gets a chance to be a starter. It would have been cool to go with Crabtree, but the best way to help this team is to sure up the defense.

That is cool! Ah, the "Mighty Woof." Yes, that is how we say it 'round these parts.

Michael Schumacher is probably one of the best race car drivers of all time. I always liked open-wheel racing. But, I gained a whole new respect for it after I started pitting for an open-wheel modified. You have to be a lot more careful and much more precise with open-wheel cars.
-
I go for the knock-off Oakleys. They are usually only about $20 or so. The pair I have now I've had for almost six years.

Open-wheel racing is my favorite. If an IRL race is on at the same time as NASCAR, I watch the IRL. Same goes for F1 and NASCAR.
