Finally got it done and on public land to boot. Not my biggest, but one I'm the most proud of. For the contest, he's just a 7 point, although I count him as an 8. I'll check him in for the contest later this week.

Worst year of my entire bowhunting career. Loggers decided to thin 4 sections and clearcut 2 sections of woods that basically ruined every single hunting spot I have. We're talking my personal land, leased land and public land that I hunt. I still managed to see some decent bucks but have passed up the young ones hoping a shooter would walk out. But this logging has really affected their movement. I've got until January 15th to put something on the ground. Starting this week, does are on the hitlist. AND I'm getting less picky on the size of the buck. If a 110 incher walkes out, he may be in trouble. LOL

Had a good weekend as far as deer sightings went...but a bad weekend as far as deer killing. LOL Hunted all four sits and saw deer every time. Passed on several doe and young bucks. Did manage to see one good shooter but he was sitting at 75 yards, broadside, checking out does. I go on two weeks vacation Monday. So hopefully, I'll get us some points on the board.

Blackpowder opens up this weekend but I'll be bowhunting. We've got our first freeze of the year coming up tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully, the temps and the extra activity in the woods gets those big bucks up on their feet during the daylight. I'll be hunting solo 9 hours both days. Taking my came video camera so hopefully I'll get something on camera at least.

Sorry I haven't checked in lately. Between two jobs and hunting, I've been pretty busy. I've shot two hogs so far and that's it. Passed up plenty of does but only one shooter buck that wouldn't give me a shot.

Overnight low for Saturday is 56 degrees. Can't wait for Sunday morning! I'll be in my stand with a bow in my hand when daylight comes a calling!

Checking in! Season starts a week from this Sunday. Chomping at the bit! I didn't harvest a buck last year so I'm due! I hunt from October 1st through January 15th. Bow only. Normally harvest 4 does and one buck. Looking forward to winning this year guys!

I'm still at it down here in Oklahoma. Its looking like this will be the first year since I started bowhunting 17 years ago that I willl go buck-less. I've got until January 15th, but the bucks don't move much this time of year. I'll be in my stand every weekend up until then, though.

Sorry I haven't been checking in but we didn't have good cell signal or wifi in Kansas. I saw a lot of deer on my 6 day hunt, but never saw a buck over 100 inches. A guy in our group killed a nice 140's buck but between the weather and the fact that we were hunting a farm that was new to the guides, we didn't get on the deer like we did last year. I've still got a week of vacation left, but plan on taking it once the weather cools down.

Spent the weekend trying to get my kids a shot at some deer. But Oklahoma's youth rifle weekend was uneventful. Next weekend is our muzzleloader opener. Will still have my bow in my hands but will be hunting hard.

Other than a small 6 point, I was skunked on three morning sits this extended weekend. Not the kind of start I was hoping for!

Hunted Saturday morning and evening and Sunday morning. Saw 7 total from stand. Passed 45 yard shots on 3 doe because I was expecting them to come in closer, but they didn't. The only buck I spotted was a young 6 point.

I'll be in the stand Saturday morning for our bow opener. First doe that walks by will be leaving with two extra holes in her!

I've got one more weekend and then I'm done for the year. Hunted three sits last weekend but only spotted three deer(two spikes and a yearling). Not expecting much in the way of success this weekend, so I'm pretty sure I'm done for the year. Enjoyed it guys!
