I bought my wife an Abu Garcia 6000 baitcast reel, a Gerber Multi-tool, and a cordless Dremel tool for her taxidermy work....YES, it's for her, LOL. I already have the same reel and multi-tool, which is why she wanted her own....
  9. It's a neat little bow. Saw it, shot it, but Hoyt's Katera will be my choice for 2008.
  10. I go by gross score, but there's another way to look at this: How many times do you see discussions on the message boards asking the question, "if a massive nontypical and giant typical walked out at the same time, which one would you shoot??" A lot of hunters say the typical buck. Big, symmetrical typicals are very, very rare, because most of them grow trash and have uneven tines. If you find a deer that is that symmetrical, then I think they need to be rewarded somehow, since they're so rare. This is where the net scoring works good, to reward the deer that are more symmetrical than others. Just my .02...
  11. Thanks, guys! 165 2/8 gross is what the deer wound up scoring....
  12. Tim - congrats on a great buck!! -Jody Hadachek
  13. Gotta love long tines!! I agree, let's see a pic!
  14. Hey everyone, It's been awhile since I've been on - but things have slowed down a little bit. I wanted to share a couple pictures of my 2007 bow harvest. I shot this buck on the evening of October 28th. I called him to within 15 yards and shot him through both lungs with my Hoyt Vectrix. He ran 60 yards and fell over. 250 pounds. Congrats to all of your successes!! -Jody Hadachek
  15. Hunting season is coming to an end for some, and I'm sure there are stories of those big bucks that got away. What animal's sheds are you targeting this year, and what's your plan for going about finding those particular antlers?
  16. Congrats, those are some good pieces of bone! It's always nice to find them during the off-season!!
  17. Great shed!! 75 inches or so???
  18. Sweet, let's see some pics!!
  19. If I need to extend past that price range, I'll do it if necessary, those things are nice. How much for the echo??
  20. I'm in the market for a gas powered pole saw to trim branches/shooting lanes - I'd like to spend less than $200 on one if at all possible. Does anyone know where I could find one??
  21. Hey guys and gals, For those of you that know me, my name is Jody Hadachek and I go by the name 'KANSAN' on the Internet. For the last 14 years or so, whitetails have been my life - since I was a kid. Some of you might remember that I used to run a whitetail website featuring some big sheds, and I've done quite a few deer articles over the years for various magazines and for Realtree.com. I'm proud to say my wife (Alicia) and myself have teamed up with good friends Joey & Casi Rott to form Rut Junkie, a production company that features two younger husband and wife teams doing what we love to do more than anything - hunting whitetails!! You might remember Joey with his huge set of sheds that circulated around the Internet last year. This has been a dream of ours for a long, long time and it's finally happening. We're also very excited to say Realtree is working with us on this project!!! If you get a chance, please visit our website, at http://www.rutjunkie.com and see what you think. We've got some footage on there, a journal that shows some of what we've been up to, and a messageboard if you feel like hanging out. We hope to see you soon!!
  22. Okay guys and gals, I've played "air guitar" for years and have become an expert at it. But now, I'm wanting a new challenge - I want to learn to play the real thing. I'm going to buy a cheaper electric guitar and try and learn how to play. Obviously, I want to start really basic as I know little about playing. I'm going to try to find someone to give lessons, but I was also wondering what else to consider when learning to play. How about online lessons? Do any of them really work?? Any hints you can give me to keep up my confidence? I've tried picking around on a guitar, but it seems pretty overwhelming to me. Eventually I'd like to learn to tailor my style to 80's metal songs, but I understand I'm several years and thousands of hours away from learning to play real good. Any comments would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!!
  23. It's been out there a few years, but Alicia & I sure were happy to bring it home!!
