Congrats on the moose, will be looking forward to the pics and the story. I have struck out on everything, I even through an app in on Montana Moose, didn't expect to draw as I only had one point. Have AZ deer & SD deer left, then I have to decide what to do if they are both unsuccessful.

WOW!!! Congrats William & Christina, that is awesome!!!

Anybody draw any tags for this season yet? My son drew a Unit 1 AZ late Elk tag, same one I had a few years ago. Looking forward to spending Thanksgiving in AZ this year. Hoping for a Colorado 3rd Season Deer hunt near Gunnison, depends on the creep should have enough at 13 points, still got a month and half till results on that. Kicking around applying for moose in Idaho again. Good luck to those of you applying.

Nice, Congrats!!!! Lotto mass

The 2019 application season has started. Wyoming regs are out Utah regs are out Arizona regs are out. Didn't post the links, but let me know if you want them and I will.

Congrats on getting one down!!! It is addicting, that is for sure.

Can't hardly believe it, but for the first time since 2008 I doesn't look like I will be going out of state to hunt. I have struck out on every application that I put in for my son & I. Hoytshooter09, did you do any good on your elk hunt?
-
Buy a preference point now in Wyoming and then next year use it to go hunting. Unless you are just looking for a B&C trophy, antelope hunting is very doable on your own. Find a unit with accessible public land and go hunting. It is a blast, no need to get up super early, hunt all day, don't have to climb any mountains. I don't make it in here every day, but if you have some questions just ask and you will get answers soon.

Good on you, Sir!!! And the youth hunts are awesome. I can't wait until I get the chance to do that again. Also you might want to check out the Texas Youth Hunting Program linked below. I took Jake on many of those, some are management type hunts, some are for some nice trophys http://www.tyhp.org/?print=true

2018 booklet is out there and the website is open for applications

I'm guilty. I applied for points for antelope and moose for my son and I, since there was practically no additional cost. I imagine it won't be too long 2 -3 years, that they will raise the cost of applying after getting people suckered in. There will definitely be more point creep.
-
Congrats Corey. Get you a big one.

I put in for 3rd season deer in Unit 67 with 12 points, didn't really think I would have a chance based on last years numbers. Turns out I did have a chance, at my point level there were 7 applications and 1 tag. I didn't get it, but at least I have almost caught up with the creep. So far, I have struck out on everything, only apps still out or pending are AZ deer, SD & TX. I tried moose in Idaho, but got rejected there also. Tried just about everything in NM and got rejected. Same for Nevada & Utah. May have to go back to Canada with Snapper.

That's surprising, I had heard good things about Matador. Getting close (a few months) to get to do it all over again.
-
Dawg, Any luck on your Matador hunt? Did you see any good bucks?

Already struck out for elk in Wyoming & AZ and antelope in AZ. Applications in for everything, just about in Utah. Will be applying in Texas, Nevada, Colorado, & AZ (deer & sheep). Haven't decided about NM yet, probably will just because it is cheap to do in the long run, although very poor odds. Will probably apply in SD for deer and bison. Now for actual draws, my best chances will be Colorado ( have plenty of points for both deer & elk) and AZ deer will have about a 30 - 40% chance of drawing. If nothing comes through then I will probably just go OTC elk in Colorado.
-
That's cool, we struck out on the draws they had yesterday. More to come...
-
you are right about someone has to get drawn. It happened to me last year on the Private Land Antelope hunt. 1 tag and over 1500 applicants and I got drawn. My son and I have gone on a few hunts. I think there are quite a few deer hunts that the odds aren't real bad, but the ones that are more trophy type are long odds. I have been applying since the late 90's for some of the hunts. Mule deer is my main attraction, also, but I'm looking more towards the west Texas hunts. Good luck to you.

I don't think it is going to happen. No interest. I have a whitetail tag ML tag in Kansas this year and then a cow elk in Wyoming. Tennessee is a pretty state, what part you planning on going to?

You would think these guys would realize they have to much to risk to do this type of thing. Hope all of their sponsors drop them. http://wyo4news.com/news/star-reality-tv-hunting-show-wildgame-nation-sentenced-poaching-lincoln-county/

Had my brother-in-law build me a new rifle... 28 Nosler.

Congrats on the draw. Good luck, get us some pictures. I got my points for both elk & deer. Got way too many elk points but not near enough, don't know what to do with them.

After applying, I continued to research and ended up chickening out due to the supposed winter kill in the area. I changed my application to points. Or at least I hope I did, they accepted the change but stated there was no guarantee that it was actual done. Anyways, I just applied yesterday in Kansas. Pretty much guaranteed the whitetail tag, but also put in for the mule deer upgrade in far NW Kansas, about a 20 -25% chance I get that. The Smokey's are awesome, vacationed there in 2001 in June and had a great time. Different than Colorado, but beautiful none the least.

This is a little late, but if you are wanting, you still have a few more hours. Deadline is at 11:00 pm Nevada time today. Here is a link. https://www.huntnevada.com/ If you are just wanting points you have an extra week.
