  1. Re: Admit it... Well when I watched it Hacksaw Jim Duggan (I think that was his name) was my fav. Carried a 2x4 and a flag. Of course that was about 15 - 20 years ago. Don't care a thing about it now. And usually won't let my son watch it either.
  2. Re: Spanking? That is a good one, have to add it to my arsenal!
  3. Re: Spanking? The one thing I noticed, and Tominator also, in this thread the two people who were more or less against spankings Jimt & Buckee, both have daughters. I have a daughter also, who does not live with me, and I can not remember ever spanking her. She just minds a lot better. Now my son, is a little different, he has a lot better manners than she does, but he also does not mind near as well. I do not consider a spanking beating or abuse, if done properly. If you use more than one or two swats on the back side, then you might be crossing the line, in my opinion. I guess what I am trying to say from my personal experience, both as a kid with a sister and as a parent with a son & daughter, and from friends experiences, the male gender seems to need a little more attention to correct the problem than the female gender. With my son grounding doesn't seem to bother him, if we take away his bike, he plays in the yard, if we take away baseball (which he loves) he will ride his bike or watch tv, take away the tv and he will play outside. I refuse to take everything away from him and make him just set in his room for a week or month or whatever. I strongly feel that he needs some type of outdoor activity available all the time. I do not want him to grow up doing nothing but sit in the house and watch tv, play on the computer or play nintendo games. For those of you who do spank your child, do you spank them in public, i.e. grocery store, mall, walmart, etc.? I do, I feel that if the spanking is deserved, then it should be done at the time of the crime. One of the main reasons I feel that way is because the "your gonna get it when we get home" usually does not happen, with me anyway, I get soft and let him off. Which in essence would have him thinking "he won't discipline me in public and then he doesn't when we get home, so I can go ahead and do whatever I want and basically won't get punished for it.". But there again, it has to be a spanking, not a beating, or the parent will have some questions to answer.

  5. Re: peta commercial on CMT It is all about the mighty $$$$$$$$$ Peta has it, CMT wants it. I doubt if the sales people care what is advertised as long as it is paid for and within the laws. [ 05-21-2003, 04:52 PM: Message edited by: texastrophies ]
  6. POST IT!!!!! You should be proud. Thank goodness she took after her mom. There is a saying that goes something like "It ain't bragging if you can do it" Well she did it, so it is a fact, not bragging. Congrats.
  7. Re: Heard part of this story Heck, some convicted murderers don't get that long.
  8. Re: Confused 2 year old Sounds to me like boys just being boys. 'Course Tominator could be on to something also.
  9. Heard about it, sounded like he was lucky to survive. Some people just don't know when to say when!
  10. Re: Easter is Cancelled.... I think this is one we could have done without.
  11. Re: 7 US soldiers found alive Saw an interview with the parents of the female that was rescued, don't remember her name, but that had to be the greatest feeling that her parents have ever had to get the news that their daughter had been rescued and was alive. Brought a tear to my eyes, just watching the interview.
  12. Re: Cannot take much more Nothing to be sorry about. You have a trying situtation there and sometimes it helps to get it off your chest. Anytime you need to let loose, just go ahead, we're all ear...eyes, here. Good luck.

    Murder?

Let's see, you intentionally kill somebody and you go to jail for 90 days.
  14. Re: best tasting animal on the planet. Where's the beef? You can't beat a good steak.
  15. Re: Scrubmasters theme song! GREAT LOL Out of retirement and your first one is a hit.
  16. Re: Will this be a lesson learned? Yea I think it will work, to add to what Buckee suggested, you might think about cutting them loose early on the last day if they work hard the rest of the week. This might help eliminate any hard feelings or wishes of payback they might have.
  17. Re: open mailboxes? Just heard on the radio that they have a suspect around the Amarillo Tx. area they are looking for. Apparently they found one near there. They gave his name, car description, L.P., where he was from and everything. Hope they catch (one way or another) the sicko doing this.
