Re: Movie Quote Game I couldn't help myself, eh? The girl's got the tongue of a trout. Your mother had the tongue of a trout.

Re: Movie Quote Game [ QUOTE ] "I'm looking for Ray Finkle...and a clean pair of shorts" [/ QUOTE ] Ace Ventura "Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."

Re: It\'s time for some controversy What I'm hearing from Ant is the old tired axiom "if you're not part of MY solution, you're part of the problem." We all have good reasons for joining and supporting whatever organizations that we do. I think what really irritates many people is when someone like Ant tries to prioritize the causes we should support - like they know better than we do. And if we're not on the same page as they are, we better get there quick, because lord only knows, their way is the best, and most important, way. If a guy has a few bucks to send to DU or Pheasants Forever, or the MN Deer Hunters Association, or the NRA, great. Every dollar helps. But don't try to tell me where my priorities should be, it's none of your business to do so.

Re: Property Management Opinions Needed I agree with everyone else. Post it! But be careful that any sign you post has wording requiring permission. In many places if the sign simply says "No Hunting." Then that's exactly what it means, and the game warden is obligated to enforce it - even if it is your own land.

Re: larry the cable guy [ QUOTE ] IMHO, he is an idiot. [/ QUOTE ] He grossed $12 million last year. Chris Rock was the only other comedian who came close to him. His album "Right to Bare Arms, this week bowed at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, making it the highest-debuting comedy album ever and the only one to debut in the top 10. The title is also the first comedy record to hit the summit of the Top Country Albums chart. In addition, with a start of 92,000 units, it sets a record for first-week sales for a comedy album, according to Nielsen SoundScan. I don't think "Idiot" is the right word.

Re: Monday, MONDAY, MONDAY Be sure to empty his pockets before he goes through airport security. Since you are "kidnapping" him, he won't know to leave his pocket knife at home.

Re: How Many... What's more strange are all the people who registered but have never posted. Too bad there's not a feature that shows the date of a user's last post.

Re: How many of you are NRA members? And Why? Yep. They are the only credible organization with the kinds of numbers and muscle (both political and financial) to fight for all of our gun rights. I shudder to think what our gun-owning lives would be like if Sarah Brady, all six of the Million Moms, "Fast Eddie" Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Schumer and all the other anti's like them had their way. The NRA is not some evil organization. We are a large group of like minded (with a few minor differences of opinion among us) individuals concerned about the future of gun ownership in this country. The NRA has done far more for us than any of us as individuals could ever think of doing. "I am the NRA!"

Re: SMALL TOWN PEOPLE Not much farm land in the part of MN where I grew up. Except for the farm references, the list was about right on for my small town too. If you ever messed up, it would beat you home, and your Mom would be their waiting for you.

Re: Gill Nets ? Could it be native Americans exercising their treaty rights? Another possibility could be a DNR lake survey. They'll set a net every couple of years or so in roughly the same spot. They note the number, size, and species of fish caught in the nets to help determine how healthy that particular fishery is. A call to your local DNR field office should be able to tell you what the nets are there for.

Re: SMELT ON !!!!!!! Yep, a large shiner usually not much bigger than 6 or 7 inches long, not much different from alewifes or ciscos. Not only are they good for eating at the local VFW or Jaycee's annual Smelt Fry, but they also make excellent bait for northern pike. I'll freeze some uncleaned and shore fish with them from a couple of my "hot-spots", use a single large hook just behind the dorsal , cast it out and lay it on the bottom with a large bobber, and wait. I've landed some dandy pike with smelt.

Re: Is there anything................ Yeah, they're really cute when their munching down the tulips and other spring flowers in your wife's flower beds. What's the saying? "**** hath no fury like a woman scorned."

Re: Look at who i caught! [ QUOTE ] Blow up a picture of this a$$ and post it on a bright orange post in this area with a sign that says "smile ****6543, you're on candid camera....and the game wardens are after you. Get off my land". That should do the trick! New [/ QUOTE ] It will also enable him, or anyone else who stumbles upon the bright orange sign and photograph, to approximate where the trail cam is. Good idea, but I'd suggest relocating the trail camera.

Re: Look at who i caught! [ QUOTE ] HA! Now you got him. Turn his pic in to the police or game warden. And he's not even wearing a hunting liscense. [/ QUOTE ] Gobbler, Not every state requires hunters to wear licenses. Minnesota hasn't required it for well over twenty years.

Re: PIKE FISHING (HOW?) The classic red and white striped Eppinger's Daredevil is a pike slayer! I've also had great success with casting or trolling classic Rapala's in a variety of colors. Shaun pretty much addressed it for you.

Re: malards! They're green colored bands that offer a $100 reward. It's an incentive for hunters to turn in their data right away and to avoid the potential problem of the "wiseacre" who tosses a band in a sock drawer and doesn't report it until twenty years later.
