Re: I need some ideas. To be real honest with you - the first thing I'd like to see is a sales person! I've stopped going to Bass Pro because there's never enough people to help you and if you grab one of them numbers - plan on standing in line for quite some time. But to answer your question - tuning a bow would be nice to see and a seminar on all the gadgets that work and don't work. Thanks

Re: My pick for idiot of the month. Ok first - this guy was from West Virginia - that explains a lot to start with. What I can't get over is - if a dog is worthy of killing because of it's name - then what's the dumba** that named it worthy of?

Re: Homosexual elementary students???? You gotta love "zero tollerance" and the school system that's run by a bunch of idiots with "zero common sense".

Re: Minuteman project Some people have more respect for the criminal than the victims.....ie liberal democrats.

Re: Update - Minutemen in Action Ok lets look at this. Instead of gunning down Mexican’s – they took one that may have died and gave him water, food and medical attention. Yeah boy, these thugs are really going to make their mark in the wild-west! Mexican officals are threatening law suits if anyone acting in a illegal manner is harmed! Does the term KMA mean anything to these Mexican officials?

From the World Net Daily April 3, 2005 Just before its official commencement, the Minuteman Project has helped U.S. officials capture at least 18 suspected illegal aliens. Volunteers with the group of private citizens spotted the migrants yesterday as they were familiarizing themselves with the area near Naco, Ariz. When federal agents arrived at the scene, they took into custody 18 migrants, Border Patrol spokesman Andy Adame told the Associated Press. "You observe them, report them and get out of the way," said Mike McGarry, a spokesman for the project, told the wire service. Another illegal immigrant was taken into custody Friday after strolling into a camp of the Minutemen. "He inadvertently wandered into the hornets' nest," Minuteman spokesman Fred Elbel told Reuters. "But it turned out to be his lucky day," he added. "He was tired and dehydrated and we gave him medical attention, food and drink before handing him over to the Border Patrol." The Guatemalan man headed for a Bible college in Palominas, Ariz., not knowing it was a camp for the citizen patrollers. "It's not uncommon to have aliens that have had enough," Adame told AP. "They'll walk up to someone's house and ask them to call us. They're waiting on the porch when we arrive." The Minuteman Project has drawn hundreds of participants from across America, looking to help Border Patrol apprehend migrants who continue to stream across the border. The Arizona chapter of the ACLU wants to monitor the activities of those on patrol and officials with the Mexican government have also threatened civil lawsuits against any participant who harms a Mexican national during the month-long exercise.

Re: Colorado court rules that the bible..... [ QUOTE ] I always thought guilt was supposed to be based on the evidence the state had against you anyway, its the prosecutions job to prove your guilty, not the bibles, so I guesse I dont really see the problem with this.I actually dont even see how the bible could be used to prove guilt in the first place.Anyone want to clear this up for me, Im a little confused by this post I guesse [/ QUOTE ] FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT! Yes - you're suppose to be proven guilty but all this does is allow yet one more loophole to the appeal process and once again proves that our judicial system all but promotes criminal activity and allows escapre routes for anyone with a savvy lawyer. Again - you want to address crime, start with the courts and liberal judges and work your way down. As far as morals goes - there are no morals observed these days - don't even bring the subject up.

Re: Jesse Jackson on Schiavo case Yep – the sloganmaster/publicity pimp himself has come to the rescue and should come as no surprise that he’s on the scene of a national story. Why the good reverend has made his own medical observation of the situation and claimed that Terri Schiavo is not brain-dead, merely brain-impaired. Thank you for your contribution Dr. Jackson, MD. Terri Schiavo is going to pass on any day now and this story will. However, the washed-up race warlord Jesse Jackson will be waiting in the wings for the next big event, and you can bet he'll be right there, desperately looking for a camera lens.

Re: Minuteman project [ QUOTE ] I stand by my opinion, and the first time an unarmed mexican is shot in an unprovoked incident. I'll say I told you so. [/ QUOTE ] And I’ll say – Job well done – time to reload. You simply can’t rely sollely on your government (local, state or federal) to protect you completely, there has to be some responsibility taken by the citizens.
-
Re: society????? The problem is the left - bleeding heart liberals that clammer at the thought that the victium is always the one that committed the crime. They have infiltrated our judicial system to the point that it only makes sense to commit crimes. They have created a judicial system that rewards the criminal and prosecutes the victiums and until these spineless idiots can be culled from the herd we'll have to live with it. You want to adress crime? Start with the liberal judges and work your way down.

T. Schiavo, should the feeding tube be reinserted

Re: T. Schiavo, should the feeding tube be reinserted [ QUOTE ] She has no registerable IQ [/ QUOTE ] Hey - some on here have no registerable IQ either but you don't see everyone standing in line to un-plug them! Buckee - did you delete my other response????? -
Re: Minuteman project Guy - you're not seeing the irony in all this - I'm being synical ok of what someone said. Read the entire post and you'll see that. We have a member saying it's up to the government to protect us and not the citizens of this country. Are we not in agreement that it's up to the citizens to protect the country? Trust me - I don't rely on the police to do anything to protect my family or myself - they'll show up and take the report while the medical examiner is hauling off the slug that tried to break into my home - that's about all I'm counting on. And I'm not counting on the government to protect our borders and I think IT'S GREAT that citizens are finally taking things into their own hands and in fact would support putting AR-15's into those hands for some more added security and would support any action that they deem appropriate.
-
Re: Minuteman project [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Isn't it the responsibility for the police to protect you, your family and your home? [/ QUOTE ] How can they use that defence when its been determined in court that police are not there to protect, just enforce laws (clean-up)? You can not go after the cops if they fail to protect you. [/ QUOTE ] I'm sorry, all this time I thought the police officers motto was "To Protect and Serve". How stupid of me....
-
Re: Minuteman project [ QUOTE ] I understand their intentions, but it really isn't their place to do this. It is the job of the federal government to patrol our borders, whether they are doing so or not does not give an untrained civilian the right to tote a gun and patrol the border. I bet someone gets shot the first night out there, an unarmed, female, mexican looking for a better life in the USA, and then all **** will break loose. [/ QUOTE ] Do you own a gun for personal protection Sluggo? Isn't it the responsibility for the police to protect you, your family and your home? That's what some on government will lead you to believe - and before you say "it's not the same thing" is **** sure is the same **** thing - this is OUR home, everything within it's borders is our home and it's not only our right to protect it, it's our **** duty to protect it from envasion of outside sources. If Japan had thought for a minute that they would encounter the same attitude that you're express here then they would made Pearl Harbor a stop over point on their way to California.

Re: Minuteman project arm them with M-16's to combat the M-13's Look at it this way - the only people the Mexican's have to worry about is the citizens - the government isn't going to do anything. If they can scare us then they've got a wide-open door to the US - thus, arm yourself and shoot all you can. Call it "preventative-maintance"
-
Re: Illegal “Anchor” Babies: I hear there's a vigalante group going to start patroling the borders - arm them with AR-15's and you might start seeing the numbers go down.

T. Schiavo, should the feeding tube be reinserted
ParrotHead replied to fisherguy's topic in Politics
Re: T. Schiavo, should the feeding tube be reinserted [ QUOTE ] You know, this is why I can't get into this whole religion thing. That guy, rather he is a preacher or not, needed to be thrown in a slammer for life for neglecting his son. Why on earth would you not rescue your own son first. Can you (he) prove that he was saved??? Tell me please and don't use all that mumbo jumbo bull either. Tell me why he wouldn't save his own son first! Man, you just ruined my day man. I HATE when people neglect thier children. That's why I can't stand watching the news anymore, all you hear is how children were killed by their parents. And how I look at it, this is no different. It would be different if he tried to rescue his son FIRST and failed because we all know, poop happens but to neglect your own child because you THINK he is saved or you THINK you know he is saved is UNSAT. I wonder how this PREACHER lives with himself everyday! [/ QUOTE ] But what you’re not looking at is the “duty” of anyone that claims they are a man of Christ. Obviously being a preacher, this man knew his son more than anyone and if he believed that he was saved and he was sure in his faith then given the fact that only one child could be saved, he choose the right child. Look at the Bible for the answers here guys, it plainly states that you must put God before anything or anyone, that includes your family, friends, anyone. With that said, would I have as much faith as this man did? Simply put, No. I would be the one that went for my child first because I’m selfish…..you can’t put it anymore clear than that. I would rather enjoy the life of my child than to go through the pain of losing him and that will be something I have to deal with when I have judgement day with my maker. As for your comments on “killing”, I don’t believe that this man killed anyone. He saved the life of a child and now has become labeled as a “killer” in your eyes because you believe he didn’t make the correct choice in who he saved. Your analogy is troubling at best. Look at everyday life, a firefighter saves one life but fails to save another. Is he a killer? A police officer saves a life while another is lost, is he killer based solely on who he saved? A preacher saved a childs life while another perished and he’s a killer for it? Again, all I’m doing is offering yet one more side to a topic that already has multiple sides. Lets not turn this Terry Schivo debate into the preacher debate. -
T. Schiavo, should the feeding tube be reinserted
ParrotHead replied to fisherguy's topic in Politics
Re: T. Schiavo, should the feeding tube be reinserted I guess where I have the biggest question is, as Christians (and some of you are), what is the single most belief in a Christian? The promise of everlasting life isn't it. So as a Christian, why would I want to prolong her death if I believed she would be better off living the promise that our lord has spoke so passontly about and that's the promise of heaven. I recall a story I read somewhere about a Preacher that took his son and another kid fishing or somethign like that and both kids fell into the water. Without hessitation the preacher saved the other kids life before his tried to save his own sons life and as fate had it, his son drowned. When asked why he choose the other kid his response was that he knew his son had been saved and he knew that the other kid hadn't so he let his own son drown because he knew that he would be in a far better place beside the lord. So I guess my question to someone that claims to believe in God and his promise of everlasting life would be "why do you think it's necessary to prolong someone's death?" Just one more thing to ponder since this thread is getting such a workout. -
I saaw my first truck race (live that is) Friday night at AMS and let me tell ya this folks - truck racing will surpass the Busch Series in just a few more years. This is some of the best racing out there these days, sure you have your races like Sundays race "every once in a while" but these trucks are doing it on a weekly basis! It was great - I loved it.

Re: Question for my NASCAR fans Just my 2 cents here. Taking an illegal steriod is a little more serious than mounting an illegal restricker plate...guess it's all up to who defines it as "illegal"

Florida Judge Sentences Innocent Person to Death
ParrotHead replied to Texan_Til_I_Die's topic in Politics
Re: Florida Judge Sentences Innocent Person to Death First things first – this is something that happens every single day across America and tough decisions are made every day that allow for either someone living or dying. More than often it means ventilators are turned off and in other cases feeding tubes are removed so either way you cut it, someone starves to death or suffocates. The only reason we’re having this conversation today is because the media has decided to single out Terri Schiavo in this case and make some sort of heart-felt case on her behalf without once considering the family or the husband. As for myself and my opinion, my every sympathy goes out to the parents but reality tells me that they’re living in a dream world if they think she’s ever going to live even an ounce of similarity to what life she had. There’s nothing left of their daughter except a body that’s wasting away. I guess you have to ask yourself if this truly is “life” as you want it to be known. Myself, the answer is clear and this case has brought up conversations in my household that it is my wish that in a vegetative state you do whatever possible to end what useless life I have left and let me take my chances with the good lord himself. As for Congress, Terri Schiavo has given them one more case to go after the “pro-life” groups. This isn't about Terri Schiavo, it's about abortion. The anti-abortion movement saw an opportunity to take Terri's tragedy and turn it into a spectacular pageant in support of life. Quality of life means nothing to these people ... only the fact that some sort of life is present. Please make sure these people are not around when the time comes to pull the plug on myself! The true tragedy here is your right and what the federal government thinks your rights should be. From this day on your right to die, your right to instruct your loved ones to not take extraordinary measures to keep you alive if disaster strikes, is a federal matter, not a state one. Congress and the President have decided that for you as of this weekend and I’m ashamed of them. As for the sticker shock some of you are getting right now, don’t read into this that I’m turning coat here. Yes I’m a Republican, yes I voted for Bush both times and would do it again but you can **** well bet that my Republican Congressman has already received a scathing email from this citizen in his inbox this morning. The last thing we need is more federal interventions in our lives … and in this case, in our death. -
Have you ever wondered why our government which seems to be so concerned about the health and well-being of it citizens always take the “look the other way” attitude when it comes to things that involve money? Take for instance this oil thing. Do you realize that in some states like California, the combined state and federal excise tax is more than 50 cents? According to the API (American Petroleum Institute), the average state and federal excise tax on gasoline is 42 cents. Consider the amount of usage per day and you start to see a lot of money being pumped not only into your tank, but into your government. Consider for a moment that Detroit did indeed come up with alternative fuel options or the government enacted a “over 50 MPG” rule what would happen to some governments, they would collapse from within. Which in most cases wouldn’t be a bad thing. In a time when your government seems to be so concerned over your health you would think that this would be one of the first things on the list to get rid of however the economic impact to the government itself is cause enough to turn the blind eye. Cigarettes are another thing however I believe the tobacco industry is on a downhill swing and only when the government started noticing this did they step in and start issuing warning along with raising taxes. You’ve got milk that cow until it’s dry and that’s what they’re doing and creating a smoke screen to the public in the name of better health. How many people are killed per year in booze related deaths verses the amount killed in purely “accidental” automobile wrecks? I’m not sure of the exact number but my guess is it’s pretty high so why not bring back the 18th Amendment? I’ll tell you why, because the government realized they were missing out on some major bucks. You know us Americans, we’ve got to have our cocktails and if we get it from legalized distribution then we’ll pay a heafty tax for it, otherwise it’s back to the moon-shiners. According to the IRS, $8.3 billion dollars in taxes were generated in federal excise taxes, now that’s a lot of money isn’t it. Make booze illegal and you’ve got to give up $8.3 billion….doesn’t take long to see that we’ll be seeing Jack Daniels on the shelf for quite some time to come. Check out your states budget, it’s published right on the web for you. Georgia for the most part hasn’t come to a conclusion for 2005 but the 2004 budget was $16.4 billion dollars and that didn’t include the $400 million shortfall! 561 people out of every 10,000 are state employees and solely rely on taxpayers to pay them. If you start taking away even the slightest amount of taxes on alcohol, cigarettes or gasoline and unemployment rates go out the roof. So the next time you hear a politian talk about how he’s so concerned about the health and well-being of us and our children (especially now with the Senate steroid talks) fire back with facts about all these other things that could make our country so much better but don’t expect to get much of an answer because all politians know that without oil, cigarette and booze taxes, they don’t have a job.

Re: YOU MAKE UP THE LAWS [ QUOTE ] Don't have alot of time right now, but I did read one that makes me think of one....Any teacher who calls a parent and asks them to sit down with their kids and teach them things at home...will have to do do that parents job for 1 month.... if we have to do their job for them... it's only fair that they do ours... [/ QUOTE ] AMEN TO THAT. I asked my wife the othernight - right after doing homework for an hour - when I could expect my teachers paycheck to come! I like this exercise and will put some real thought to it.....my first law I believe will be a hunting season on politians
