Re: REM. 300 SAUM AMMO. Took my new Remington 300 SAUM stainless with syn stock to the range today and was pleased with this guns preformance. Using the 150 grain bullets I was able to get my best group of 3/4" at 100 yards. I was expecting a kicker but was pleasantly surprised at the lack of recoil and minimal muzzel jump. I could have stayed there all day and shot the gun. I'm glad I bought it, can't wait to hunt with it. I'll be trying some Remington factory 180 and 165 loads and see how they shoot. A friend of mine also bought one at the same time and he plans on handloading some stuff. It should be fun.

Finally picked up my new Omega today..but now?

Re: Finally picked up my new Omega today..but now? Congrats on the new Omega. I have the Encore as well as 3 of my hunting buddies. One fella has the Omega as well and all except 1 of us including the Omega shoot 120 gr. T7 and 250 Barnes Expanders. While all guns are different and 1 Encore in our group did not like this reciept you could expect to shoot 1"- 1 1/2"maximum or better at 100 yards as we are doing. -
Re: REM. 300 SAUM AMMO. Thanks AJ, Happy New Year. Jim.

I'm having trouble finding ammo for this caliber and only have the Remington 150 gr. so far. I can't seem to find other bullet weights or mfrg's.

Re: Opinions please on TC Omega Hoyt03, I have the Encore but have held the Omega several times and if I were to get one I would prefer the thumbhole stock. Additionally, in Pa. you can use an inline muzzeloader in any of the firearms seasons , just not the late traditional muzzeloader season. I use mine in S.E. Pa during the gun season inlieu of my shotgun since centerfire rifles are not allowed. My Encore groups better at 100 & 200 yds then my rifles. Go figure. Good luck with the Omega, If you do some research and have a few extra bucks you may find some with some real good looking laminated woods.

I looked at 3 guns today, Tikka T3 Lite .308, Ruger M77 MarkII .300 WSM & Remington 700 XCR .300 Ultra Mag. All these guns have syn. stocks an S.S. barrels. I kind of know which gun I may get but was wondering what the folks on this forum thought of each . It would be used mostly for a deer rifle but not owning any magnum calibers I may want a gun for a western type hunt some day .

Re: Question for AJ. Thanks AJ for the reply. While I was in my gun safe I came across a gun given to me but I forgot I had. It is a Weatherby 224 Magnum Mark V Varmitmaster with a Weatherby 2 3/4 X 10 scope. Something tells me that this is a gun that I should hold on to even if I never use it . What do you think of this gun ?

Re: KANSAS BRUTE That deer has some charactor . Nice buck

AJ, A family member is thinking of trading his Remington Gamemaster 760 Pump in a 30-06 SPRG caliber with a Kassnar 4 x 32 scope on it. The gun is in fair condition . It could use a reblueing and it would look brand new. The stock is in great shape . What would be a fair trade price if I would take it to a gun shop or a gun show and trade it for another rifle? I think he is interested in getting a .308. We have a number of 30-06's .

Re: PA Harvest count For all those unhappy hunters : Price for a Pa license : reasonable. Price for ( 6 ) doe tags : reasonable Price to be out in the fresh air with friends & family seeing great sunrises and spectacular sunsets, the natural sounds of nature and the solitude of not having to deal with the stresses of work : PRICELESS !

Re: Late Season Whitetails Second season archery does start the day after Xmas. As far as the 2nd rut goes It should have come in some where around the end of Nov. I did not see much nor hear from others in the filed that there was much of one. Good luck with late season archery, I'll be out there also. Hopefully my late season spots will pay off.

Re: T/C Encore in the 209 x 50 My Encore shoots better than my centerfire rifles. When I go out with a gun I have taken my 209 x 50 since I bought it 3 years ago.

Re: Best Load for Encore? Oneway, While every gun may be different, 3 out of 4 of my buddies including myself all shoot the Barnes Expanders with 120 gr of 777. Off the bench 1" groups at 100 yds and 3" groups at 200 yds are not uncommon. Good luck in your search for the reciept that works out of your gun. P.S. : I clean the barrel between each shot at the range. I have fired two shots while hunting without swabbing without a problem using the 777.

Re: Muzzy\'s: 3 or 4 blade? I shoot the 3 blade 125's and 100's. I recently went back to them after using expandables for a couple of years and last year I shot a doe and a decent sized buck. Blew thru both deer like a wet paper bag. Nothing bettter than Muzzy's in my book. Shoot both 3 & 4 blade and see what works best out of your set up.
