  1. durring daylight ....would be hard to see any shooting lanes and do any clearing for those after dark, and the sooner the better, to let the area settle down as much as possible before using it
  2. makes me glad im not that good of shot
  3. as long as the dog enjoys being out with you, is willing to go into the thick cover, thats all you need

  7. i like it alot, i passed on my only chance at a bobcat...opening day of deer season, had a nice cat walk by me at 30 yards, but i didnt want to ruin a chance at a buck, or put a 180 gr 300 win mag into it ...lol
  8. dont get me wrong, i have been hunting, just a little later and with a rifle, im up on all the lastest gizmo's and such..... i mean look at my signature, i managed ok but thanks

  12. yeah well i couldnt go into the woods without sneezing and wheezing, my eyes swelling shut, or being so medicated all i could do is fall asleep...lol now all i get is a little itchy eye so it wont be as big of deal....i never gave up on hunting, just did it with my rifle a little later in the year...
  13. Well im going on my first bow hunt after giving the sport up 25 years ago. people like Steve B, Randy O and buckee got me interested in trying it again. so i bought a new bow ( martin) and everything i should need, been shooting it all summer, at 20, 30 and 40 yards im pretty darn good. so i called a buddy in Michigan the other night, we planned a trip, so early october i will be sitting in the michigan woods ( where i grew up) and giving this sport another try....wish me luck for the record.... my alergys used to be so bad durring the bow seasons in wyoming, it was just a big waste of time being out hunting, now after along time they have lessened quite a bit, so thats why i stopped bow hunting.
  14. when the bull is hung up with his cows, it might not be possible to pull him away.....at best you have to make him feel theres another bull to worry about. this might take more than just using a call, try raking a tree with a branch, shed it up, stomp around all while bugling.... but like i said, he might stay with the cows, or just move them over the next ridge too.....its hunting, not killing....good luck
  15. did i miss the shot, or did you edit out throwing the buck knife at it nice doe my friend
  16. lol congrats, why i remember you as a young hatchling
  17. i tried to take some vacation time , but as short handed as we are, my boss said it would have to be worked out between my relief and myself, so basically im screwed, im not going to ask anyone to work 6 straight weeks so i can go hunting somewhere....but i do work two weeks on two weeks off. however the weeks are in the wrong slot for the hunting areas i go to...lol except for pheasant hunting, its right on schedule, so yeah im happy.....
