  1. I would turn the clock back 34 yrs and buy prime Illinois Whitetail habitat for about $300 an acre. If you would have told me when i graduated from high school that what would have been considered at that time to be "scrub" timber ground would now be selling for $3000 to $5000 an acre, I would have laughed you back to the stone age.
  2. I have taken 2 deer with the Rage 2 blade so far with no apparent problem and complete pass through on both Deer. I would be interested to know if there were any major bones hit on this Deer, and if so, what kind of shape were the blades in? I think that would be the one weakness of the Rage broadhead. Sounds like the shoulder bones were more to blame than the broadhead for the lack of a blood trail if they were indeed plugging both the entry and exit. While the blades not staying deployed is certainly an issue, I am not sure I would characterize a shot that results in a Deer falling within sight as a failure. I pretty much agree with what Pass_Thru_Archery is saying.
  3. Rotating the O-ring is what I do when the blades don't want to stay closed. Seems to work for me. I think as it is time to replace mine, I am going to go with the new Extremes. They have gotten rid of the O-ring and replaced it with the shock collar, which looks to me like it will be much better than the O-ring. Also, they have replaced the pain in the Butt pin that holds the blades in the ferrule with a screw.
  4. I say if you lease hunting rights for land from a company that makes it's profit from the trees on that land, it is in your best interest to find out what their long term plans for that tract are before you plunk down your hard earned money. While it would be nice to get a heads up, to expect it is probably asking too much.
  5. I have a Pro Staff 2-7x32 on my CVA muzzleloader and would recommend them without hesitation.
  6. 1 pin to 20 yards here, also.
  7. Currently shooting a 2011 PSE Bow Madness XS.
  8. Good advice here. I am not sure if it is still the case, but at one time Archery Research bows were made by PSE.
  9. Same here. 1 pin from point blank out to 20.
  10. I took it here in Illinois 3 years ago with my Son and really enjoyed it.
  11. Recently the Google Earth program on both my desktop and Android smartphone began locking up as soon as i tried to zoom in. I tried Google's website for a fix, but none of the suggestions i came up with seemed to help. I tried un-installing and re-installing on both devices, but the problem persists. Anyone have problems with Google Earth lately? I really enjoy playing around with it and of course it is invaluable as a scouting tool. Thanks in advance for any help!
  12. Truly disturbing. Hard to tell for certain if speed was a factor, but it does illustrate that you must drive with caution in adverse road conditions.
  13. Same here. I have only used this setup for 1 year, but so far I am happy with it.
  14. I have lived my entire life within 40 minutes of Busch stadium and have been a Cardinal fan literally as long as I can remember. I agree with what MUDRUNNER said. Looking forward to another Baseball season. GO CARDINALS! :toot:
  15. Old High School nickname based on my first name. Everyone would always greet me with "hey randyman" and it just stuck.
  16. Just one more piece of evidence that there is no hope for the species.
  17. So far I have not waded into the Facebook or Twitter thing but may someday.
  18. No changes in equipment, did all that last year. The one big change for me is I recently joined a private hunting club, so I have 160 acres of prime Illinois Whitetail habitat I need to get familiar with. This property has produced some very nice Bucks, so I am excited about the upcoming season.
  19. 2006 Ford Ranger with 107,000 on the odometer. Two more payments and it's mine. Gonna try to drive it at least another 5 years.
  20. My Sister, Niece and Great Niece live in Harrisburg and thankfully all are OK. Reports of number of deaths in Harrisburg range from 6 to 10 with some still unaccounted for. Prayers to all affected.

    Trout Season

Used to do opening day at Bennett Springs every year, but it just got too crazy, so I just try to make it several times a year during the week through the summer. Good Luck!
  22. While Kyle Busch is a complete rubberhead, he can drive a race car. To me what happened speaks more to the new car than anyting else. If the same thing would have happened with the old car he would have went straight to the back and stayed there. Time and again those cars can sustain significant damage and still run like scalded dogs.
