Oddly enough, for me it is the smell of Skunk. How many of you folks remember "Skunk Screen"? It came in 2 separate bottles and didn't have any smell until you mixed the 2, then look out! When my Dad and i started hunting Deer back in the mid 80's it was all the rage and we used it faithfully. We only used it a couple of years, but the scent of Skunk always instantly takes me back to those days hunting with my Dad.

If he is too stupid to walk away and just leave it alone, you know he is too stupid to kill it! I think it is clear who should have been killed here. Clean up the gene pool a little bit.

Sad to say, that is quickly changing. I feel for anyone who had permits to hunt in the affected State Parks. When are Illinois residents going to wise up and quit electing Politicians that are products of the Chicago Democrat Machine? First our Governor and now possibly the next President of the United States. As far as Obama helping out, forget it. Not only is he a Blago crony, he is a US Senator, not a State Senator. Nothing much he could do even if he wanted to. There isn't any reason to believe a Governor who won't even live in Springfield is going to care anything about the Illinois that exists South of Chicago. Illinois residents need to make sure we don't have to put up with "Rod" past 2010.

Actually, "blue tongue" and Chronic Wasting Disease are 2 different diseases. We have both here in Illinois. As you stated, Blue tongue or EHD (epizootic hemorrahgic disease) is spread through insect bites and CWD is spread from animal to animal. I won't bore everyone with details, but Google both terms to research the differences in the 2 diseases.

Just goes to show that as a group, Motorcyclists do a much better job of lobbying than passenger car drivers.

I heard on some national news (can't remember which channel) it was some human DNA and Opossum DNA. Get this, the Woman anchor actually said something to the effect of, "It was Opossum DNA, not possum DNA, I've heard of a possum, but i don't know what an Opossum is"! Here's your sign!

I live in a "Shot Gun only" State (and Muzzleloaders and some handguns). My understanding always was it is not so much about how far the projectile will carry, but with a shotgun being a relatively short range weapon, you're more likely to be sure of your target and background than with a centerfire rifle. I don't believe you will see centerfire rifles become legal in Illinois any time soon.

I personally don't do the Snake killing thing. I do hunt in areas where I am likely to see Copperheads, but i simply am not afraid of being bit. It is hard to argue with removing poisonous Snakes from one's yard, but to "kill every Snake you see" is indefensible in my book. If I'm afraid of Dogs, does that mean i can kill every one i encounter in the woods or my yard? I would venture to guess that many more people are bitten/killed by Dogs than Snakes in this Country. I won't attempt to live anyone else's life for them, just something to think about.

How many of you truly believe that any top flight Cup owner would pay someone MILLIONS of dollars and risk MILLIONS more in sponsorship money on someone who didn't have a fair amount of talent driving a race car? The way some of you talk, i wonder what's keeping you naysayers from being a millionaire race car driver.

I must start this post by stating emphatically that i do not like KB. That having been said, to claim he isn't good is nonsense. No driver since Richard Petty has dominated year after year. No driver wins entirely on his own, Kyle just found a team where everything gells just right. Rick Hendrick and Joe Gibbs are nobody's fool. You would be hard pressed to find someone in the garage area that would agree that Kyle Busch is not a good driver. Immature and Cocky, sure. But the Kid can wheel a race car.

Just for the record, that was my only intent. I'm not flaming non-residents, just being brutally honest. Nothing but my opinion.

I am always amused by the non-residents who whine about how much it costs for them to hunt in Illinois, yet they still line up when it is permit time. The way our Governor is pillaging the budget of the IDNR, you non-residents can expect to keep paying more and more as the IDNR looks for ways to plug the gaps. You can always stay home and hunt the monster bucks you have there!

If i saw it on the Internet, it must be true! After cleaning my share of Snapping Turtles, i don't believe it is a Turtle. They don't have a "body" under their shell.

It's called "Poetic Justice"! I posted a few days ago about what a pain these things are. I finally used some spray insecticide and it helps, but there seems to be 3 to take the place of every one i get rid of. Keep up the GOOD work!
