  1. Re: Happy Thanksgiving Tonight is the last night for me boys. I haven't been able to out-do my buck from Iowa. I've been working on a buck that would eat that Iowa 150" for breakfast. Had one opportunity on him about a week ago and didn't take the shot. Best of luck to everyone who is still hunting, and congrats to those who have tagged out already.
  2. Re: Nice Late Season Pics... I think he is stepping back in that picture. He's in good health from what I have seen.
  3. Re: 900 Club I'm at 820" now. 1 buck at 150" 2 bucks at 145"= 290" 2 at 130"= 260" and one more at 120". 150+290+260+120=820 I hope to make a significant change in that number in the next few years.
  4. I thought these were a couple good pictures of a couple nice young bucks. I've passed up both of these bucks in recent days. I look forward to seeing how these two turn out next year. Young buck with small drop tine. Same Buck with small drop tine. Young buck with hook-antler coming off of the base.
  5. Re: Road Hunting Done Right ?? Illegal. It's using a vehicle to directly aid in the harvest of an animal. It's like having someone do a drive on a fourwheeler while you post.
  6. Re: Happy Thanksgiving Come on guys! I can taste it.
  7. Re: Met UFC x-champ today How did his nose look?
  8. Re: Couple of Odd Bucks.... No octagon for me, but my brother has found mma fights. BTW, I'm 99% sure I found the cause of all of these broken tines and injuries.
  9. 3:30 in the afternoon, right under my stand.
  10. Re: Couple of Odd Bucks.... And the story gets yet a little more weird. I got this picture of another buck last night. Check out his front leg. High Res Pic
  11. Re: Couple of Odd Bucks.... Initially I thought it could be from a firearm, but the fur surrounding the wound doesn't appear to be charred, or burnt at all. Plus, look at the size of the thing. I'm clueless as to what might have caused it. I've got about 10 or so more pictures of this buck, but the quality of the pictures is about the same.
  12. Got these pictures just the other day. The first buck has a huge chunk of flesh missing between his neck and shoulder. High Res Pic This next buck has got a hook-style antler coming out from under his left beam. I'm not sure if it's connected to the beam or not. Sure is cool though. High Res Pic
  13. He survived rifle season, muzzleloader season, and the majority of bow season. I've seen him one time from the stand during bow season, but he stopped just shy, at 70 yards.
  14. Re: 7 - The Freezer Fillers Guys we are really close to taking this one....even a couple small bucks would seal the deal.
  15. Re: Iowa M/L Buck Nice one Bill!
  16. Re: 7 - The Freezer Fillers Do you get extra points if you shoot a doe as well as a buck?
  17. Re: Iowa Success! I was checking his reservations, and it looked like he just checked out!
  18. Re: 06-07 RT Forum Deer Contest - ENTRY 13 Scoreable Points. 5+13= 18 points for team 7. Only one sticker is over an inch. The sticker point on the bucks left main beam is legal. The sticker on the right beam is just under an inch.
  19. Re: Iowa Success! Thanks guys. For you Iowa boys, the buck was shot in Black Hawk county.
  20. Re: 7 - The Freezer Fillers I did not let you guys down! Check my post in the deer hunting forum!
  21. I had a great time again hunting shotgun season in Iowa this year. Last year I had an opportunity on a nice buck, but couldn't convert. This year I converted, and in a big way. I'm pumped about this one! To make an extremely long story short, I shot him on a drive. It was far from a one shot deal, but I got him. But he's got 14 scoreable points, main frame eleven point, four tines over 9" and is 15" wide. I have yet to score him. He had a huge head and neck, but I bet he didn't dress out more than 180#'s. This pictures gives you a good idea of the length of the G2's and G3's.
  22. Re: Texas Heart Shot? If you are confident, it's for sure a killing shot. I wouldn't hesitate with the right caliber.
  23. Re: Real Nice Eight... I do owe ya one. I'll be home most of next week. Off to Iowa this weekend!
  24. Re: Real Nice Eight... Lovely neighbors.
  25. Re: Real Nice Eight... For the record....BB was 21.5" wide. He was aged at 4.5 years old, but weighed only 147lbs dressed. Grossed in the low 140's.
