  1. Merry Christmas everyone! Stay healthy, safe, and enjoy your time with family!
  2. Awesome, good luck! Already looking forward to 2021 with the # of turkeys I've seen in the area this fall.
  3. I have a notebook I try to write down what deer I shot from what stand, sate/time, etc. Though maybe I should do more to really key in on deer activity.
  4. I gotta get this guy entered for the contest team, though I'm hoping this one monster buck is still alive and I may get a shot at him during muzzleloader next week ;-) Was very happy and blessed after a long tough archery season to have this guy on the last day before gun season opened to give me a 10 yard quartering away shot with the crossbow...would have loved to have had my bow instead for that shot lol. Actually had him on trail cam several times and a shed from last spring. Yes, he had a huge body, probably the biggest bodied buck I've shot.
  5. He's a great deer, congrats!!
  6. I'm still here. Work, life, school has kept me occupied but how could I forget this place!
  7. Hi guys! I'm still here. There was some glitch and the forums was not displaying the text box to type in. Anyhow I got an 8 point the last day of archery season so I will get him entered! ? Still hoping for a buck with the gun but it's been slow for movement since season started on the 21st
  8. I've been in the same situation...sounds like a shoulder hit...he might be ok. Hopefulyl with trail cams, you can catch him on camera. I've seen some pics of coming out of Maine...you do have some beauties!
  9. Tagged a doe on this Monday! She is delicious! Plenty of season left so waiting to see if a buck gives me a shot!
  10. Nice job Ultradog! Looks like my type of place! Hope you get a big one out of there!
  11. Wow beautiful buck Rhino! Congrats! Great way to start your season!
  12. So sorry for your loss Buckee! Losing a pet is rough...it wouldn't hurt if we didn't love them ?
  13. Been out a few morning and few evenings, been slow here. Seen alot of turkeys though! Warm and windy today but cool down tomorrow so I'll be out in the AM.
  14. I'm not familiar with that specific one but based on my experiences with a cheaper kit, from Walmart, you get what you pay for. Definitely go with a good gun cleaning kit the first time!
  15. Looks like an abnormal antler to me...pretty neat...looks like a young deer.
  16. Wow...I'll take one please! That is awesome, nice job! I love to just sit in the stand...your mind just stops thinking and worrying...sometimes, lol. I'd camp out in that blind!
  17. Hi guys! Checking in here! Season starts with archery this week on Oct. 1st...I'm not quite ready but I hope to be out by the weekend...weather is going to be cool! Corn is just starting to get chopped so I hope that makes for more deer movement....nearly every field on my road was corn this year so it kind of kept the deer movement to a minimum. Season runs from October 1st to mid-December...shotgun season is mid-November then late archery/muzzleloader after gun for about 10 days in December.
  18. Awesome, congratulations! Nice size doe!
  19. Hi N2H and Dakota! Glad to see you guys are still here!! ?
  20. Congrats on the grandson Rhino! Sure sounds like you've had a busy year! Hope things settle down soon for you and you can enjoy the deer woods! ?
  21. Have not had a morning like this in years. Several years ago lost the land I grew up hunting on. Have a small lease to deer hunt but do the majority of squirrel hunting now on public land. It's tough to find a good area full of squirrels these days. This morning hiked up into a spot I've hunted last few years that has red oak, pignut hickory, shagbark hickory and have gotten a few squirrels from...well hit it right this morning...apparently I found where the squirrels were traveling back and forth from some shagbark hickory. I'd say in no more than an hour, sitting in just this one area, occasionally moving from tree to tree to gain a better view, I was able to take home 4 squirrels! All within probably a 20 yard radius of the area I was sitting. Spending a morning in the squirrel woods is one of my favorite things to do pre-deer season. God blessed me with a great morning!
  22. Congrats Fly and XT! They best eating right there!!
  23. Earlier this year I picked up a TC Encore ProHunter with a 20 ga rifled barrel for deer hunting this year. Any recommendations for a scope mount? Will be putting on a Vortex Crossfire scope which needs 1" rings. Was looking at the scope mount TC already has, I see there is a medium height and high height....wasn't sure which one to go with or if there are other mounts of there you recommend? Thank you! ?
