  1. Re: Loudest Deer Hunter Who Ever Lived That is seriously one of the funniest posts I've read in awhile, cheers to you for making me laugh out loud(which is pretty hard in fact). I agree, we all have days like that, don't sweat it, just go after it harder next time. Good luck to ya!
  2. Re: Grim Reapers!! I've used them for 2 years now and have harvested 2 deer with them. Neither deer went more than 60 yards. They are pretty tough too. My brother also uses these and has never had a deer go more than 80 yards with them. They truly are great broadheads.
  3. I got out my wind checker a few minutes ago and noticed the bottle was getting low. What is it that you can use as an alternative or maybe is what is originally in those bottles? Is it baking powder, soda, or flour? Or is something else. I cannot for the life of me remember what it is. A little help for this struggling mind would be helpful.
  4. Re: general broad head review: reapers, thunderhea I myself use the 100 grain Grim Reapers. The last 2 years I used the RazorTip ones and both deer I shot went down within 50 yards. This year I bought the RazorCut ones and haven't shot a deer yet with them, but the Grim Reapers fly EXACTLY like my field tips and do some unbelievable damage. You will not be disappointed with the Reapers. I recommend them to anyone looking for a new broadhead to try. Just be careful, once you shoot them and see what they can do, you might not go back to another broadhead.
  5. Re: Limbsaver Cable Slide Yeah I put it on myself with no problems and looked on limbsaver.com to see if there was anything extra I needed to know, and it said to make sure once installed that the string doesn't touch at the cross point. When I installed it the first time they did touch, so all I had to do was turn it over and they don't touch now. Works like a charm. Thanks for the replies.
  6. Just purchased one of these, but am unsure if it is safe to install it myself, or best to take it to the pro shop. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  7. I was just curious if anyone had the suit. It's similar to the "Dream Season" suit, just that Waddel designed it. They are a little on the pricey side, but I am curious about it. If anyone has the suit or just the coat or just the pants and can give me a little info on how it feels, how warm it is, better for early or late season or both, etc etc. You get the picture. In case anyone doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about I'll provide some links. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.T...arTarget=browse http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.T...cmCat=CROSSSELL
  8. I'm looking for a nice clay target thrower. I was wondering what one is the best for the money out on the market right now. I have the do all traps competitor and the problem is that it doesn't throw the clay all that far. I want to get something that throws it out there a good ways and maybe one that throws the rabbit type? I saw one at walmart for $100 and was wondering if that was the cheapest one for what I want to do? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
  9. This is a post for those people out there that are like me and don't quite understand all there is to know about the different types of choke tubes. I just bought a Remington 870 Express 20 gauge and was wondering what the different type of choke tubes are used for. So if someone out there that knows a lot about shotguns would be willing to help me and others out, that would be great. Briefly explain what each choke tube is used for and what # shot is best out of the specific tube. Thanks! Turkey Super Full - Turkey Extra Full - Full - Modified - Improved Cylinder - For me specifically I plan on using this 870 20 gauge for rabbit, birds, turkey, and mostly clay pigeons. So any information would be helpful. Anyone willing to do this for me, it would be much appreciated, and if it helps out more than just me, maybe a sticky? Thanks again.
  10. Re: TEAM 15 Yeah that is a brute for sure. Awesome job guys. I didn't see a buck worth shooting all of shotgun so my last ditch attempt will be a few trips in the coming weeks for late archery. Plan to set up on a field and see what happens. Good luck to all that are still hunting.
  11. Re: One heck of a deal The only real problem I see that I am going to have with this climber is it did not come with any backpack straps. Guess I will just have to purchase some, which isn't a big deal. Other than that, it was well worth the $50 and I think it's a little bigger than the one I had stolen, so thats another plus. Go get one.
  12. If you all remember last year I had my climbing tree stand stolen. I was pretty bummed out about it, but fought hard through this season with hang ons and so forth. Last night I get a call from my brother saying Walmart has Ameristep Grizzly climbers for $50. I could not believe it. So today I went and got me one. Check your local Walmart if you are in the market for a climber. Now I know you get what you pay for and I know its not a Summit, but $50 for a climber? I just couldn't pass that up. Just thought I'd share.
  13. I was thinking of ordering some Under Armour Coldgear stuff. The top, bottom and the hood. The hood is one size fits most, so that isn't a problem, but what size should I order for the top and bottom? I am roughly 6'3" tall, and weigh about 165lbs. I wear a size 32-34 waist. I thought about the medium since that is what 32-34 waist calls for, BUT I don't want it to shrink when I wash it. Was hoping to get some advice from someone that already owns some, if they got a size or maybe even two bigger? I know it's a tight fit, that doesn't bother me, but what size do I want? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  14. I am seriously considering a Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn scope for my Mossberg 500, so I am wondering since I have never used a scope before, what scope rings do I need to buy? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  15. Well I thought I would just post a little review about a coat I purchased recently. I bought the Arctic Shield H3 Parka. Now while it doesn't get too terribly cold here in Indiana, it still gets pretty chilly. I went out hunting a few days ago and had my bibs(not Arctic Shield, yet!) and the Arctic Shield H3 Parka on. I decided to sit on the ground. Got all nice and situated and after awhile I noticed that my legs were getting kinda cold, but my upper body was toasty warm. I only wore a light pair of gloves on my hands as well and just kept my hands in the pockets. All I had under the parka was a fleece base layer and a sweatshirt. Let me tell you what. I was unbelievably warm. I had to put the hood up because of the 10+mph winds making things even colder, but I was toasty warm. I sat from 3:30 till dark with no problems. Got out of the woods and looked at the temperature gauge in my car and it read a cool 23 degrees. That is probably the coldest weather I have hunted in before and I could have stayed the whole day in that weather. Just thought I would pass along some information if anyone was looking for a good cold weather coat/parka. While it is a little expensive($129.95) it is worth every penny to me. Here's a link in case anyone's interested. Good hunting! http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.T...t=SearchResults
  16. Re: new world record deer???? [ QUOTE ] For the record, that is the ONLY big deer in Indiana. We have NO big deer. Please stay at home and hunt. [/ QUOTE ] My thoughts EXACTLY. Here is the website where you can see a picture of "the new state record" buck. http://huntingindiana.proboards52.com/in...4280&page=1 Scroll down a bit on the first page and you will see it. A monster for sure.
  17. Re: Anyone know how to get rid of winfixer??? My suggestion would be to download the SpySweeper trial version and give that a try. Couldn't hurt could it? Keep me informed if it works or not. Good luck. http://www.webroot.com/consumer/products/spysweeper/
  18. Re: New Hoyt Trykon? http://www.hoyt.com/products/trykon.tpl If I didn't just get an Ultramag earlier this year, I'd be all over this bow, BUT I still love my Ultramag.
  19. Re: How about it Indiana deer hunters Congrats to you both. I didn't even go out at all today, and probably won't tomorrow considering the wind is supposed to howl. I am really looking forward to this coming week and weekend as it looks as though a cold snap will be coming. Should put them in full rut, or I hope. Good luck the rest of the season.
  20. Re: ratting and doe\'s That should be normal. Why would a doe want to come to something that is fighting? She wouldn't, and she more than likely won't. If she does happen to come looking and doesn't see the deer that are making the noises then she will move off, but more than likely the noise will just scare her. The grunt was probably a good idea, but maybe next time make sure it's a buck before you rattle. Be still and let that old doe come to you, you never know, she might just have that monster buck trailing her. Good luck.
  21. Re: TEAM 15 Yep opening day of shotgun is tomorrow, so I will be out in my stand where my brother saw a huge 10 point. Hopefully he will make the stroll by. Good luck guys.
  22. Re: Seen a Monster 9pt this morning. Very Tall Buc Thats a good thing fellow Hoosier. Although I haven't seen a shooter, I'm sure he is there somewhere, so I'm still excited for tomorrow. Good luck.
  23. Re: Truball, Great Customer Service This is my first time shooting a TruBall Release. I have the Truball Stinger and I absolutely love it. Its comfortable, light and never fails. It is very nice to know that they stand behind their products like that. I will definetely buy their product(s) again.
  24. Re: Grim Reaper Price ? I paid $32.99 for a pack of them at my local bow shop. 3 broadheads in a pack. So yes, they are a bit expensive, BUT they are well worth the money.
  25. Re: Mechanical Broadheads I also shoot Grim Reapers. Have for the past 2 years and don't plan on switching anytime soon. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
