Hey everyone, just checking in. I saw some turkeys tonight when we were out feeding the deer and I'm pretty excited to go get one the second week in May!
-
Good deal Kyle! I'm very glad to hear he's back to his normal self.
-
This is horrible news I would be scared to death if something happened to my son like this, so I can imagine how worried Kyle and Jen must feel. Prayers sent for all three and I hope Cash gets better soon! Poor little guy

Wow, thanks for all the advice, guys! The kitchen flooring that is currently in place is ugly linoleum that came with the house so that will be getting ripped out and shouldn't be too difficult to tile. We decided to hire someone to do the flooring and we're going to be heading over to a few places where he did their flooring so we know he's credible and does nice work. I also really like the idea of the wood veneer on the cabinets. That's something I'm going to look in to. We're thinking Home Depot and Menards for a lot of our supplies. There's a big Home Depot about an hour away that we're going to go take a look at. I washed all the cabinets really well with a de-greaser and a few other products so they should be good to go and when we spray painted the stove hood, I cleaned that beforehand and let me tell you, it was pretty gross how dirty it was. You wouldn't think by looking at things how greasy they can get, but once you start cleaning, it's amazing what you find.

I'd like to re-do my parents' kitchen. I am an avid HGTV watcher and I love architecture and houses, especially kitchens. This is what I'd like to do to it: - Install ceramic tile flooring and backsplash - Paint and stain the cabinets - Put hardware on the cabinets, preferably in a brushed nickel or bronze finish - Build and install a faux crown molding to go around the kitchen (see them do it on HGTV all the time and it takes them less than a day to make and put up) The oven hood was a creamy, off-white color and very dated looking so Andy and I spray painted it black to match the stove, so that's been crossed of the list of improvements. Using Microsoft Paint and Photoshop, I've created what I'd like the kitchen to look like: The cabinets aren't exactly the color I want them to look in real life. I'd like the paint to be a little lighter colored and to look more Oak stained, and the tile backsplash to be a little more textured. (I know in the picture the cabinets look a little weird because I was trying to create a wood finish, but that didn't work out as well as I'd hope.) Anyway, I'm wondering if any of you have re-done your kitchens yourselves? If so, I have a few questions. 1. The cabinets are laminate and this has to be a lower budget kitchen re-model, so there isn't room to get all new cabinetry. I know by painting cabinets, you can update them nicely. Can you stain a laminate cabinet after it's been sanded and painted? I'd like to stain them in a light Oak finish, like I said above. 2. Has anyone installed tile backsplash themselves? I've watched them do it on TV, but I really don't want to screw up if I decide to do it myself and I'd like some tips/advice if anyone has done it, same with the flooring. 3. Where did you get your supplies from? This re-model has to last a long time and I want paint, stain, and ceramic tiles that can hold up and last many years. I'm really excited to get started.

Yes, he's doing much better! He slept a lot today, but that's about all that seems abnormal. Sorry to hear that about Cash, the screaming is NOT fun!!
-
LOL! That is really funny! I don't have any Muppet's videos, but maybe I should invest in some for next time he gets his shots at four months!
-
Oh, I probably should have mentioned that's where they did the shots. Whoops. They did two in one leg, and one in the the other. (I think two in the left, one in the right?) Both of them were swollen around the injection site, but they look better this morning. He finally fell asleep last night and slept really hard for quite a few hours and was a little fussier than normal when he woke up, but he eventually went back to sleep after I cuddled him for a while. He woke up this morning around 7:00AM, seemed normal --- smiling, cooing, kicking his legs, and he made me a big poopy diaper. :clown: I think he'll do much better today. I've got the Tylenol ready just in case.
-
Today Breylen got his first set of shots since he's two months old now and he has NOT stopped screaming since we got him home. The crying is non-stop, top of the lungs, red in the face, can hardly breathe type of crying. We gave him .4ml of Tylenol as recommended by the doctor, but it doesn't seem to be helping and I also tried giving him a warm bath to soothe him and try to make his little legs feel better (they're both swollen) but that didn't help, either. This has already made both Andy and me cry and it's so hard to watch him scream with tears running down his face and there's nothing we can do to help him. Any suggestions? :helpsmilie:

Sorry to hear this, Griz I hope everything works out for the best for you and your family! Prayers sent!!

Oh yeah, it's TOTALLY my favorite thing to listen to. :bang: Yeah, and now that we have Breylen, I know as soon as he's old enough, guess who ELSE is going to be showing me how loud the calls can get? Then I'll have two of them following me around the house: WAAA WAA WAA WAA WAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! As if listening to him and my dad practicing turkey calls in the basement wasn't bad enough.....
-
We ended up getting quite a bit with claiming Breylen on the taxes. We're finally going to get some stuff paid off

LOL! Awww! What a cute little guy!! I love how just says, "Hi!"

In my opinion, they aren't worth the money. I don't trust any supplement/fat burner/weight loss pills, shakes, etc. I believe that successful weight loss that burns fat and will last is exercise and careful eating. I just had a baby two months ago and I gained seventy pounds while pregnant, and I have lost forty five pounds in eight weeks from exercise and sticking to a 1200-1500 calorie diet. I started running in 2006 for recreation and I have stuck with it ever since and now thoroughly enjoy it. If you regularly exercise four to five days a week and keep yourself on a strict diet and drink plenty of water, you'll drop the weight and build muscle pretty fast.

Congratulations Mrs. Strut! Tim, I think you probably sparked a contest that might be a monthly thing with a new judge each month :-p I see there's lots of willing-to-be judges!

I'm with joeaveragehunter on this one. When a wolf comes along and attacks/kills/eats one of those people's little yappy dogs, cattle, or maybe even their kid, we'll see who wants to shoot the wolves then.
