I'm going to do it. -
That's very sad news. It's a dangerous sport and this was definitely NOT the way to start off the winter Olympics

If/when you do ever decide to have them, I mean.

Good luck with your interview, Ruth! Just wait until you have kids. You're gonna be on a much longer schedule that also includes working nights

Wow, sounds like you are having a tough week. That is completely ridiculous that they didn't ticket the guy for hitting your dad. A traffic violation is a traffic violation, no matter who you are. If he can't stop at a stop sign, then he shouldn't be driving a snow plow. Hang in there!

I know, I was hesitant and very worried about SIDS and would check to make sure he was breathing every fifteen minutes because I was so paranoid. He's been doing perfectly fine, though. In some infants, my pediatrician said there's no other way to put them to sleep except on their stomachs, especially in infants who have certain health problems or stomach conditions. Of course I am aware of the SIDS factor and I've discussed this with my public health nurse as well as the pediatrician many times and I know sleeping on their backs is the standard sleep position, but I was told that he is fine to sleep on his belly as long as he can turn his head from side to side and adjust himself properly, which he does. He takes his naps during the day on his belly as well and he will pick up his whole head and turn it to the other side when he needs to. He always turns it to the side, never face down, which is how many of the babies die of SIDS because they can't control their heads yet and end up suffocating themselves. At night, he sleeps right next to the bed in his cradle by Andy and I, so I keep a very close eye on him and always make sure he has his head turned to the side before we go to sleep. We don't have anything fluffy or anything that can restrict his airway in the crib, only a sheet covering the mattress pad, which is very flat and stiff. He will not sleep any other way, and we have tried-- it results in sleepless nights much like Kyle described of his little guy.

Breylen was doing the same thing for three nights in a row, but not arching his back type deal, which makes me think that Cash is in some type of pain. It sounds like it could be gas, but if gas drops aren't helping and neither is burping, I'm not sure. It could be teething maybe. Do you guys have any of those teething rings that are water filled that you stick in the freezer for them to chew on? See if giving him something cool and soft to chew on helps. Is he sleeping on his back? I know he's old enough to switch sleeping positions on his own, but we've found that Breylen sleeps 100000000000 times better on his belly and that was the problem with him for those nights that he kept waking us up with his screaming. Once we placed him on his belly, he zonks out for hours and only wakes up twice a night for a feeding and changing, then goes right back to sleep. I know exactly how you feel with the frustration. It has definitely been taking its toll on me and Andy, too. Sometimes you wish there was a "return" button stamped on the baby

Very nice pictures! He is a cute little guy

I hope everything works out for you Randy! Stay strong and remember we're all here for you!

Nice looking house!! I love the look of log-cabin style homes! Cute kids too

He was watching the Weather Channel the other day and they mentioned the "Texas Panhandle" and he started asking me why they call it that and I didn't have an answer, so I guess he decided to consult the Southerners

Yikes, sounds scary! I hope he is okay!!

Andy is 6' 4", I'm 5' 8".

This is very sad I am happy to hear that Ethan will be able to help people with his organ donations, though. It sounds like he's going to give a lot of people a great gift. At least that is one good thing to come out of such a tragic incident Prayers for Ethan's family sent.

Congratulations I was in your shoes ten months ago (our son is one month now) and we got the little boy Andy wanted, so it all turned out and we just love him! It's quite an experience but it's all worth it to hold your little one. Like you said -- make the best of it and don't look back because you don't have time to dwell on things now. I hope everything works out for you and I wish you the best of luck!

Congrats to the both of you! He's a cute little guy!

That's so cute! I think you've definitely instilled the "hunting" gene in her I used to go sit up in a tree stand and make my dad be the deer when I was little. LOL!

Hahaha! Well, sorry to break it to you, but he's gone twice since that post, so perhaps no lawyer career in his future But he WILL be a future hunter, that's for sure!!

What a nice dog! It looks like she's pretty comfortable there

I think that must have been the problem with him because tonight, just a few hours after I posted this, he had a normal bowel movement so I think it must have been the soy formula that was making him constipated. So I think he's back on the right track now

Hey everyone! It's hard to believe, but our little guy will already be one month old this Sunday! I just wanted to share some photos because I don't think I posted any on here yet. It's been a crazy month getting used to having a newborn around 24/7 but we're finally getting him on a schedule. We are just amazed at how much he changes and grows every day! He has already grown an inch since birth and gained a pound since then, too! He's starting to make vocal sounds like "ahh" and "ooh" when you talk to him and he's beginning to smile He wiggles and moves all over the place and holds his head up a LOT now and we've discovered he's got Andy's appetite One thing I'm wondering though is if any of you have advice on constipation in newborns? I don't know what the problem is, but for about a week now, he's been constipated and I can tell he's miserable every time he tries to go We've tried putting Karo Syrup in his bottles, and it makes him go, but not the way he normally would. I'm not sure what's causing it either. I'm thinking it could be his formulas because we had him on a soy based formula for a while because he seemed very gassy when we had him on a milk based one, but I think that may have been due to the fact that he had never had formula before and so his body was just getting used to it. I have just started putting him back on the milk based formula now and he seems to be doing fine with it, and he also gets breast milk. So, if anyone has any advice on that, it would be much appreciated because I'm frustrated with what could be the problem. I'm going to take him to the doctor's if this doesn't improve through a home remedy. He seems perfectly fine otherwise, though. Just a few days after he was born. After a bath

I met the band Kansas when they came to play at a casino in Hayward, WI when I was like eight years old. We stopped at a gas station across the street from the casino after their concert and they were there buying beer to take back on the bus. Haha! I've also met Harold Ensley, some of you probably know who he is. He used to have a TV show on for years and was an avid hunter and fisher. He and my dad were friends for quite a few years. He's now passed away, but my parents and I took a trip down to see him when I was fourteen and I got to fish with him. I met Roger Raglin (sp?) when I was about the same age, thirteen or fourteen. I've also met the bands Army of Freshman and Bowling for Soup at Warped Tour in 2005. I feel like I'm forgetting someone, but I'm not sure. :hammer1:

I definitely wouldn't mind having my morning coffee looking at a beautiful sunrise like that!

Hahaha! Someone has quite an imagination.
