  1. My son is going to be hunting whitetails with a .243 and shooting hornady 100 btsp bullets. What kind of penetration and damage will he do if he accidently shoots a deer in the shoulder vs double lung it?????
  2. Drew a bear tag this year and using a 30.06. What is the best bullet to put a bear down as fast as possible?
  3. Asking $14,900 which is $1,000 below trade in value. Must sell. http://www.nadaguides.com:80/usedcar...455&da=-1&nx=1
  4. Browning White Medallion 30-.06 It has never been fired. Asking $800 (dealer cost is $940)
  5. I would go with the xtrema2. It shoots softer and a lot less felt recoil with the kickoff if you wish to get it. For a good clean job it is easier as you don't have to take a recoil pad off etc... to get to the spring in the stock on the benelli. The beretta has the spring on the magazine tube. The beretta shoots lighter loads reliably and you hear a lot less problems with them then the sbe2.
  6. How does the camo job hold up on the browning bars?
  7. Kahles, Ziess and Meopta are better then leuopolds and nikons hands down. I have a leopold and am looking to get rid of it. If I couldn't get a Kahles or Ziess, bushnell elite 4200 is the next best thing that is less money.
  8. The nova is a lot better pump then a remington express model.
  9. xcoil puts the limbsaver to shame. Have had both
  10. Strut, can a 7 mm barrel with a twist rate for the lower grain bullets still throw an accurate heavy bullet? I know 223's, 22-250 have problems doing this.
  11. Looking at energy and drop what can a 7 rem mag do a 270 wsm can't? Trying to choose a new gun for whitetail, antelope, mule deer and elk.
  12. I got one, I need to read how to submit the pictures etc...
  13. Re: TURKEY TEAM #20 Howdy, fellas! I was part of the first turkey contest winning team as well. Still have all my wears! I have multiple turkey tags this season, hopefully will harvest several. Biggest thing is getting time away from family to do the scouting that is needed.

  15. I bought a remington lv sf in 204, it is laying new in box waiting for glass. Only problem is I have decided to get a t/c pro hunter. AJ, what approximately do you think I can get from a dealer and from private party?
  16. Re: T/C ENCORE PROHUNTER How are the triggers on those? Are they adjustable?
  17. Re: Swarovski z6 Z6 – More field of view, more flexibility and more safety for the hunter Cranston, Rhode Island - Swarovski Optik announces a new reality in riflescopes. The Austrian based company has announced its first riflescope with a 6 times zoom factor. This new generation of riflescope technology from Swarovski Optik, called the Z6, demonstrates an entire new era in optics. The Z6 from Swarovski Optik is ground-breaking technology as this marks the first time such a unique magnification range has been developed- the world’s first 6 times zoom in a 30mm riflescope. Swarovski Optik has been setting the standard for performance and design for years and the new Z6 will set yet another standard for others to shoot for. The Z6 scopes have achieved significant improvements in eye relief without compromising Field of View. The field of view has increased by nearly 50% in some models, while the significant increase in eye relief also ensures the shooter a much higher level of safety and comfort. The illuminated versions offer an innovative reticle illumination construction, which has an ergonomic design providing an unrestricted view over the riflescope. With the Z6i models, the High Grid technology is built into the eyepiece for the best possible reticle illumination, well protected by a sturdy forged aluminium housing and is completely watertight. The new riflescopes have a wide choice of reticles in the second image plane, which means that only the target is enlarged when changing the magnification and not the reticle itself. This makes aiming considerably easier. The new 30mm Z6 scopes will be available in 1-6x24, 1.7-10x42 and 2-12x50. The non-illuminated version of the scope will begin to ship in January with the illuminated version to follow in the spring of 2007. They will also be available in the Swarovski Rail.
  18. Anyone been reading about the new scopes they are coming out with? They will have a 6x erector.
  19. Re: which rifle should i lean towards? 2 names always come up when wanting the best scope at a reasonable price. bushnell elite 4200 and ziess conquest
  20. Re: which rifle??? I would go with remington also. In the event you ever want to upgrade triggers, stocks etc... everything is made for remingtons.
  21. Re: 270 wsm vs 7mm mag AJ, what is the general conscensus on if the 270 wsm will stay around? Also, how is the barrel life? Last question, I see hornady doesn't make 270 wsm loads. Are there any premium rounds made for this?
  22. http://www.remington.com/products/ammuni...70WSMB*PRA7MMRB According to that data, I don't see the benefit of the 7mm mag over the 270 wsm. Only possible benefit would be able to shoot slightly higher 175 grain bullets. Am I missing something? What is the barrel life for each of those?
  23. Re: Beginner Deer Hunter I had the 7400 and didn't find it to be very accurate.
  24. Re: Rifle killed it\'s first scope to keep others from making the same mistake, what brand and model was it?
  25. Re: which scope [ QUOTE ] Please do not buy a Tasco. Between my brother and I we have had five give out on us in the last three years. Barska I can't say because I haven't owned one but they seem kinda cheap. The scopes I have had the best luck with are the higher end Simmons. Only had one of the Walmart special Simmons go bad. The Aetec and Whitetail model Simmons I have have been great. I don't agree with the whole, "Spend as much on the scope as you do the gun." thing that people say. But I do believe that the cheapest scopes are mostly worthless. [/ QUOTE ] I agree to some extent. If I am going west on an elk hunt where I my shot distance is lengthened. I want a scope that is known to handle recoil on the bigger guns, has great light gathering and clarity for shooting at dawn/dusk. Espeically if I had to make any windage changes where I need to be able to move back the scope back to where it normally is. Other then that most burris, nikon, leupold etc... will work for taking deer at reasonable distances. I still prefer to have 87%+ light transmission.
