  1. Re: which scope good scope used in the same sentence as tasco and barska is an oxymoron
  2. Re: If you had a grand to spend... I would buy a tikka, maybe adjust the trigger and go have fun. Not really another gun I would be excited to own for under $1k. I suppose I could get by with a remington, then get it bedded and floated while getting trigger adjusted. But I rather have the tikka from the get go.
  3. Re: remington 700 lv sf Thanks for posting, really would like to hear what kind of accuracy you are getting out of that. What price did you find your 223 for?
  4. Anyone have thoughts on this gun? How are the triggers? Are they adjustable, if so what is weight range?
  5. Re: which gun should i go for No one has a better idea of what a gun can handle for hunting loads then a waterfowl guide. Most guides will tell you the winchester sx2 is one of the most reliable guns they see in the blind.
  6. Anyone have experience with them? They seem to be well made and very accurate with 1/2 moa guaranteed.
  7. Re: Educate Me So for long range shooting where accuracy and flat trajectory are important a lower BC is desired?

    goose calls

Re: goose calls There are so many good goose calls on the market it isn't even funny. Zink, GK, Sanders, Grounds, Foiles etc....
  9. AJ, how does one determine damage of a bullet? I know I recall you saying a 150 grain out of a 300 win mag will do more damage then a 180 etc... How does a person determine that? What is the ballistic coefficient number and what is it used for?
  10. Re: Illuminated Riflescopes AJ, at predatormasterforums I found numerous posts where many felt IOR was way above anything in usa leupold etc... On a couple of posts people were saying the only scopes they would buy would be nightforce or IOR. The glass is made at same place as some of the others and uses zies t3 coatings. thanks for putting me on to this line of scope
  11. Re: Illuminated Riflescopes IOR f.y.i.- I have talked with folks on various forums and I keep hearing the glass it comparable to swarovski, ziess, schmidt bender etc... but it is sells at a discount. They are a little heavier in weight though.
  12. Re: Illuminated Riflescopes The ziess iluuminated scopes start at like 1400 so those are out. I read a review from a guy at predatormasterforums and he thought the leupold was clearer then the burris. I will have to find a place that has them both and look at them. At what distance is it important to have side focus for parallax?
  13. Re: 22-250 or .204 ??????????? How come no one likes the 223?
  14. Re: Illuminated Riflescopes My only reservation with the nikon is the lower mag power of 6.5 could give me troubles when in the woods chasing critters with brush etc.. or finding game that is moving at closer distance. That is kind of why I was looking at a happy medium of 4x14. Does that rational make sense?
  15. Re: Illuminated Riflescopes Reguardless of price how would you rate the clarity/quality of glass in these scopes?
  16. Re: Illuminated Riflescopes Of those AJ which has the best clarity? Is the vx3 the only with with 30mm tube? I have never heard of IOR, what info can you share?
  17. What options do I have for a good illuminated rifle scope under $1000. Will be putting it on a varmint caliber and am looking for 3x12 or 4x12/16. I want good light transmission and clarity.
  18. Re: 280 REM They are nice shooters, furtherst my deer have run with lung shots is 20 yards with 150-160 nosler partitions.
  19. Re: 204 vs 223 I am guessing the furthest I would shoot would be 250, I don't do prairie dogs. I wouldn't shoot it so much that ammo price is a concern. Thanks for the input. Will have to see what tikka and kimber odder in these calibers.
  20. Looking for a gun to do some plinking, target practice at longer distance and coyote hunting. Both the above look like flat shooters with plenty of energy out quite aways. What are the pros/cons of one versus the other?
  21. Re: patternmaster question A majority of the shotgun mfg companies and choke companies say not to use hevishot for legal reasons I think. I guarantee you that most every good choke out there is being shot with hevishot. Wad Wizard, terror tubes, patternmasters, tru locks, briley, hastings I wouldn't necessarily shoot too large of shot through a given constriction though.
  22. Re: scopes You need to look through them to see which your eye likes better
  23. Re: Pricing My Gun I didn't post a picture. Scope has no scratches on finish or lenses. Is 6 years old. Gun has minor marks on synthetic stock and no marks/rust on action/barrel.
  24. Whats it worth? M77Mark11 All weather .280 Ruger Leupold 3x9 varix2
  25. Re: Recoil Pads limbsaver is good but xcoil is WAY better
