I would say a nice med/light action rod I am not too sure on what combo set but i would suggest shimano ....I have a bunch of their gear and haven't been let down yet...me and Alisha have been talking about rods and reels for long time as I am used to fishing smallmouth and her trout and she has just got a cabelas med/light rod and she loves that as far as I know

I text alot me and Alisha text to keep in touch with her in WV and me here in NS its hard to just call all the time or to get online and chat... we send each other around 1000 a month or more just letting each other know whats going on...why I am hunting I will text her too to let me know how I doing and that i am ok (I hunt seaducks from a boat alone) I think text is a great thing for us but if i could call her without paying soo much I would no question but as it is now its the way to go for us

monday morning I got a call 5 am saying my hunting buddy wouldn't be able to make it as he was calling from the boat and going lobstering ....so what do you do ? you are all set and ready to go and no parnter .... well come daylight I started calling around everyone was busy or out lobstering and then I called one guy said sure he had some things to do then he would go with me ...I think it was like 10 am when we got set up and sunk the box downa dn got ready ....there wasn't many ducks around in this area but there was enuff to shoot LOL I had a male toll right in to me and shot it and ened up loosing it as buddy ant used to seaducking and there was a 4-5 knot tide just behind me next a male came stright on and I killed it dead and drifted back to the box and I ened up taking one more hen so i only got 2 to bring home but MAN WAS I PROUD!!!!!!! this sink box works soo well and I am pleases with it and way it handles ....it sticks alittle high right now but that has to do with the weight I had on top of it but then I took rock weed and put on top of that to make it look like a big rock ...I designed and made it all myself and its great feeling to have something you make work here I am standing up holding my 2 eiders ....sorry for dark pics my buddy wasn't used to my camra here I am sitting down

since Alisha has been up here this fall we have had some long days in the boat but we have managed our limits with not much trouble except for our first hunt which we only bagged 4 eiders...Alisha was also able to bag a nice drake eider to mount which she is undecided on what pose to get done...its soo much fun to see her smile when she knocks one down I think I need lessons from her LOL she is pretty good for someone who has only ever been on 7 duck hunts in her life
-
all we did to get ready was tie down the cover on my boat and take down our swinging sign on our steps LOL and I think it was about 4-5 am and I had Alisha up driving to the wharfs to watch the waves comeing in ...I live about 25 mins from lewis so we never got hit too hard either
