well today we went out dispite the snow / frezzing rain and managed 20 before we got too cold and went home

Re: Speed Kills yup I know they are popular but we could never kill nothing clean ....most used shell around here is Kents our local shop dosen't stock our brands for 12 ga as no one wants them but maybe its just a fad in this area who knows LOL

well I started pileing decoys aboard last night and couldn't stop LOL this morning I had headed out for what i thought would be a great day! well it took along time to set up alone and I got everything out and waiting ....daylight came and went with hardly no birds ..there was light winds and it was so calm that the birds were flying way out to sea more but I did manage to get 2 scooters and one hen eider,,, also I had my gun apart once and a scooter was coming and I went to push the pin back in and wouldn't go so I hit it with palm of my hand and drove the pin in the palm of my hand I hit it so hard so now I have a blood stained gun hat shirt and all LOL and its sore as can be now

well yesterday morning me and Alisha decided to try a new area and it is known for rough seas and plenty of ducks well it just happened to be calm winds and cold so the ducks flew really good I had my little ledge looking boat and had 2 other boats headed out along with me to keep a eye on each other and on the way in I had one boat breaking the chop for us to give a smoother ride ....when we frist got there my buddy in another boat told me where to anchor as he hunts this spot day after day ...so me and Alisha got our decoys out and all set up waiting for daylight ...my buddy is one I trust so we was only about 40 yards apart as it came shooting time I cought a flicker of wings turned and seen a hen eider that had passed behind us as I jumped up and shot she fell to the water stone dead Alisha was too excited to see me get one so easy next we had a bunch of 4 go between me and my buddy and all 4 hit the water he got 2 and we got 2 and for about 20 mins we couldn't load our guns fast enough in them 20 mins we had 12 ducks between the 2 boats dead in the water and they were still coming but we had to stop shooting and start picking up.....a few times I let Alisha shoot alone and let me tell ya she can shoot that 10 ga like a pro and hittin the ducks pretty hard if it was a single coming in she had it in the water I think shes gonna out shot me once she gets going as this week is frist time she ever shot at a flying bird or target....we ended up with 8 eiders all hens and a hen scooter and a surf scooter (I think she got the surf) her shoulder is a few shades of colors but she loves it I am thinkin on buying a browning sliver for her so it will be lighter then the 10 ga

I spent some time today covering my boat in eel grass to break up my boat around the ledges we hunt....there must be about 100 bunches of eel grass tied to it I still gotta make a cover and all for my motor tho ...what you guys think?? the cover is so I don't have to bail after rain storms as I leave my boat in water from now till end of Jan tied up at local wharf

I have one ordered after seeing it on a hunting show and want to try getting some fotage of some seaducking and wondering if anyone has tried it ???

well I just got home last night from spending a week in WV with ALisha and her family...during the week me and her dad shot the bows out bcah and I think I inpressed him on how good I shot (I inpressed myself too LOL) another day me and her dad went to the rifle range were we shot any were from a 7 mm to a 22 LOL and I got to shoot a handgun for the frist time also why I was down Alishas mom walks in with 2 nice shirts and a pair of dress pants for my b-day and then comes a icecream cake with a duck on it for me ...Alisha had got me a hand made wooden duck call a litle choc lab door stop a little hand carve duck for my desk and a pic of a lab sitting on the steps with gun and decoys around him I think they spoiled me for my b-day LOL here is a pic of the door stop the little duck and my call

Re: Getting rust off of shotgun shells I always just used sand paper for mine works for me I guess I just use them for 3rd shot so if they jam it was last shot anyways ....plus I keep rod with me to drive out jamed shells
