Re: Got me a new rifle today!! I shoot the 300 WSM. Great cartrige. That BLR must be light at a feather. I'm thinking about buying a BLR or BAR in either a 270 WSM or 7mm WSM so let me know how it shoots.

Re: Tag sharing? In wisconsin you can shoot for someone elses tag as long as they are present to tag the animal after the kill and register it. I like this system. Especialy for drives and if I'm in the woods and my dad has a buck tag.. Mine is filled.. and my dad and i are hunting in seprate locations. If i see a big buck walk by you can bet that thing is hamburger.

Re: Gun Selection The WSM is a true preformer weather you like it or not. If you want something with great preformance no matter what the conditions the 300 WSM is the way to go. The shortmag has a tendency to preform the same or better as its big brother. And that extra preformance IMO is always welcome.

Re: A toss up between rifles I dunno about that. Semi Autos Eat recoil and **** lead. I would recomend a BAR. This gun is AWESOME. Great accuracy, and quick follow up shots are as fast as you can get another bead. The BLR looks sweet also. Our winchester 88 in 308 shoots like a dream. Winchester should bring that back. This gun is awesome and worth a pretty penny. Don't use it much no more. But those lever actions in preformances cartriges are awesome.

Re: Gun Selection Expensive yes. But hey, thats what you get when you want hte best. All the shortmags are great preformers. Its kinda like in cars. You want a regular pony car.. fast... yeah. Or go with a Mustang Cobra. Faster.. **** yes. If I could only learn how to reload. The world would be my oyster with all these short mags.

Re: Gun Selection I would Select a 300 WSM in A Model 70 or Browning A bolt. Or get a Kimber in that load. Enhanced preformance at those distances is always welcome.

Re: recoil of a 10 guage Thats the other thing.. When your hunting you normaly wear a few layers of clothes and a jacket. Then with the recoil pad and the jacket i think you won't even notice.

Re: recoil of a 10 guage I know Browning makes a Gold 10 Ga. The gas Auto I bet eats up alot of recoil. Look into that but like strut10 said. The 10 ga is worse on recoil than the 12.
