Re: 300 Win Mag. or 300 WSM I have a 300 WSM. My gun is lighter but the load is more expensive. But since i don't shoot it much just to check and see if its on at a 100 yards. The Recoil is mild i think. Nothing compared to a 3.5 turkey load, and i never notice recoil when i'm huntng anyways. If you looking for a bench gun get a 223. If your looking for a Venni shreader. This is your gun. I could stick my arm into the exit wound. Amazing blood trail. You hit a deer with this gun you will know. 300 WSM or 300 win mag. Shot both and actualy my Buddy mikes 300 Win mag i feel has more recoil in his A-bolt than my model 70.

Alright. I am very fond of this gun. 7.62x39 cartrige. Cheap ammo, cheap gun. We have a Chineese and a synthetic stock and it shoots great. Never Clean it, shoots no matter the tempature. I have been hearing Arguments between the Yugo and Chinese version. Could someone help me sum this up and give me some advice on the best one.

Re: 270 win what everyones favorite cartridge Hmm... I like my 243 alot... 100 Gr. Winshcester Supreme Power Point Plus. We have a 280, 8mm, 270, 30-30, 30-06, 7mm, 308, 7.62x39, and 300 WSM, 223. My definate favorite out of those 11 my favorite is my 300 WSM. For deer I use Federal 165 gr. My exit wounds on my deer were the size of a baseball and left the most amazing blood trail I ever saw. prolly 3 feet wide and impossible to miss. Overkill yeah... but heck. The Power that I feel when I use it lol

Well I am back from my hunting. Saturday I saw 10 doe and a small 6 point and a fork. Sunday was my big day. I was waiting in my stand and about at 8:30, what appears to be a nice buck enters the thicket to my left. 2 up, and I just wanted to shoot the first 8 I saw this year just to get some horns. Well it turns out it was an even better deal cause it was a 3 pointer cause it was about 2 1/2 years old and poor mass and bad antlers. On one side and almost a rail on the other the 3 points. So he was a good one to get rid of. But I get done gutting him.. get back into my stand and an hour later I notice a 5 point 1 1/2 year old. I was like "awesome great deer in another 2 years!" So he tried to jump the fence and fell flat on his face I kinda chuckled thinking he totaly wiffed when jumped, but my amusement went into anger when i saw him climing the ridge limping and falling over. My anger was because his foot was blown off. Already with a buck tag spent. I really didn't wanna shoot it. But after i gave it a final survival test. I kicked my stand and he tried to run and fell over. I just gave a mercy kill. I figure better me eatin the meat instead of a coyote. But that is upsetting. I really hate it when people do this kinda thing. People who just don't know how to shoot. Shure accidents happen but in the last 3 years I have made 2 mercy killings. One was an 8 point with its jaw blown off. It just angers me that some people don't respect the animal enough to make a clean shot. I will only shoot at a running deer if its within 50 yards. Any farther and theres a good chance of wounding one. I'm Just frustrated that so many people arround me hunt like that. I have nothing agains deer drives but when i hear them unloading their rifles and wounding deer it angers me. So anyone else make a mercy kill yet this year. Was i wrong to shoot it, cause i wasn't shure if it would make it this winter.

Re: Wish Me Luck! Thank you all for the kind words and support. No we did not win this football game. Sadly we lost 17-6. Hard way to end your senior season. This was a tough game and takeing nothing away from Mukwanago, we had a terrible game, and theor tough defense is part of it.. I don't know what it was but our offense and defense just wern't clicking and working together. On offense we couldn't find a rythym and on defense we let them score too much. It was a **** of a ride with my teamates. WE began this Journey with a dream of going to state, and another dream on winning it. We made 1 of those goals, but the second one just didn't work out as planned. We are the other team in D1 to accomplish even part of these dreams. From loosing that one time in the regular season to DC Everst, the Team to beat in the state by 3, to Beating them by one in the second round of the playoffs. To the 4th string fieldgoal kicker kicking the game winning field goal at Wasaw East. My team and my guys have believed in each other, us and that dream to Touch The Turf at Madison. I touched the Turf, made some great plays. But as a team we didn't get it done. Its about 12:17 now.. I gotta be up at 3 to go and deer hunt. Laters and Thanks again yall.

Well it was my final pratice for football ever. Kinda sad but I would have wanted it to end any other way. Tommorow I play in the Division 1 state football championships. Marshfield Football has been down to state 5 out the the last 8 years and I wanna bring home the gold once again to the lil hick town of marshfield. Wish us luck. Say a prayer. Re: How many atv wrecks? none. I ride really agressive with my Polaris 500 and 70o, don't wear a helmet, I just know what i can and can't do. I've lost control for split seconds and luckily i could recover. If you know your machines limits you shouldn't have wrecks.

Re: Remington ammo = junk wow that sucks... I use Remingtons with my 280 and 30-06. Never failed me. I would actualy Recoment Winchesters... they are not cheap but will work every time. I have had a fe Core locts not fire but never a winchester.

Re: Sentimental Guns I dunno... For some reason I like stainless and black. Composits are alot easier to maintain and lighter weight. I haven't given much thoguht in to my pass down gun. Prolly be my Remington 788 243. But I ain't thinking bout that yet.
