  1. I use Muzzies and I've used them all (almost). I'll never go back to any other brand.
  2. I agree with the Whisker Biscuit. Can beat 'em.
  3. Holy heart attacks. I can tell you right now that I would have missed that buck. I would have fallen right out of the tree stand. Guaranteed.
  4. Amazing that some folks have been hunting through Feb. I'd be Totally burned out. I'm thankful that the season only lasts until about the end of Dec. It takes the pressure off of ME to want to be out in the woods constantly.
  5. The cost is atrocious. Jeff Foxworthy did a funny bit in one of the realtree videos where he was justifying the cost of hunting to his wife. He added all the costs: 4-wheeler, guns, license, mounts, gas, etc. Then he said, "see honey, you have beef for $2.50 per pound or Venison for $20/ pound.. LOL. It's true, it doesn't save you money unless you have land close to home, butcher them yourself, ground and wrap the meat yourself. But you don't create friends, lasting memories, relationships and certainly your kids will never remember spending time with their parents by going to the grocery store.
  6. The Browning BAR is my gun of wish-lists and dreams. I will get one, someday! :-)
  7. The definite benefit of a faster arrow is less arch at 30 and 40 yards. I don't think anything out to 25 will make a difference. However, The comments above are correct. It is called muscle specificity - if you want to run fast, you have to run fast. If you want to run long distance, you have to run long distances. So the advice above is extremely accurate. Concentrate on working that bow, every week or two increase the poundage a few #s. It'll take you only a few weeks or a month of working it every other day to get up to 65#s. if you want to work some weights, I'd work dumbbell rows: = I'd work the weight a little higher and closer to the face to simulate pulling a bow. Other than that - you're good.
  8. GREAT Pics!! I was going to register for the Pikes Peak Half Marathon 8 years ago, but never made it. It is on my list, but I'll tell you what...you just helped move it up a few notches. Thanks for the post.
  9. My car will be paid off this summer. An Altima, 2.5 - I went in to get a Ford F-150 and fell in love with a mini-mobile. I love this car, though. Next car will be a truck, Ford F-150 with extended Cab. Will pay in full. I'm done with car payments. $452.39 every month since 2007.
  10. Yes!!! I threw away my bow last year. It will FORCE me to get a new one. Finally a Matthews!!
  11. I'm fairly sensitive to liberal agendas and this was mild as compared to the libs here in Chicago. I think they wanted to just touch a bit on what could be construed as controversial, but still toeing the line, knowing that the folks in Michigan are pro-hunting. I wouldn't call it biased - maybe I'm so used to hearing outright ignorance and lies here on the other side of the lake that this type of article would be refreshing to read in the Chicago Sun Times and The Tribune.. At least they posted the requirements that a youth had to be within arms length (back-hand distance, as I call it), etc.
  12. I'm waiting for the Iphone 5 and then the IPAD 3 - gonna get them at the same time. My mac book pro rocks.
  13. Sweet! Report back if you get results. Those turkeys are wilier than coyotes sometimes.
  14. I pray all my brothers are ok - Southern Indiana produces a lot of Ball State Grads. My prayers are with everyone.
  15. This was not supposed to be for hunting, I don't think, but a hunter can not ignore the possibilities with this. I promise, you'll want one.Mirrorcube - The Treehotel ExperienceHere are two pics
  16. I'd be creeped out if I saw that. Not even sure If I'd keep the rack. Probably would though.
  17. Definitely a good rub. Hope you get him next year (pics, at least)
  18. Holy Mackeral. Unbelievable, really! Thick and massive. Way to go.
  19. I saw a 6 pointer in Chicago a couple weeks ago still had horns. The darn thing was laying right in the middle of someone's front yard as I drove by. Darndest thing.
  20. Nice buck. Definitely a thick neck for October.
  21. Agreed. 1.5 and 2.5 at best. No way 3.5.
  22. Sounds good, but they would have to already have their DNA in the records to identify them. Then would have to prove that they didn't just wander by and see something poached and kept walking. Would be tough.
  23. Very cool. Makes be envious just to see it.
  24. Anything related to archery - see if you can get your hands on some indian arrow tips made out of stone or something. Easy and inexpensive, I bet.
