    Wyoming bound

Have a safe trip and good luck...
  2. Hmmm.....Well I think he is at least 3 1/2 but it is hard to tell on the score but if you take into consideration what you can see I think he is at least 125 inches maybe higher if I could get a good look at his mass and width.
  3. AMEN! Strut I took a "friend" bowhunting with me on a piece of property several years ago that took me a long time to secure. He wounded more deer that fall. The following year I went to see the landowner before season like I do everywhere I have permission to hunt. He tells me that he allready gave permission to my "friend" and his uncle and all his buddies. That fall they pulled some real hijenks and still to this day NO ONE can get permission to hunt that ground.

    Seat Belts

Well I am glad to see everyone here agrees on this point. Unfortunately there are still those few who still do not. Yesterday was my wedding anniversary I took my wife shopping and out to eat when we got home I was playing with me son Chase and my cell phone rings. Yep, another fatal accident and yep no seatbelt. This is the second time this year I have had to see someone I have known most of my life in a way I can not/will not discribe.
  5. I have only hunted in Montana for elk. I hunted public/private ground once and only private ground once that hunt cost me $2,500 plus the tag which isn't cheap no matter how you look at it. I was very fortunate to take a 300 inch 6x6 my first day on that hunt. I shot it out of a tree stand over looking a rancher's alfalfa field. My second trip I didn't get an elk but I did spot and stalk a good Mule Deer. We saw lots of bulls on our second trip but we drew straws on who got to shoot first and my buddy never could seem to get the right shot. Our best day was the first day we were out when we had a 340 class bull at 30 yds twice after that we could only get as close as 100 yds.
  6. Isn't it amazing how in just a few short years two politicians from Chicago have screwed up an entire state. When Jim Edgar left office and The convicted felon George Ryan took over there was a surplus in the budget. It really is embarassing how many politicians from Illinois have been brought up on charges.

    Seat Belts

Seat Belts Ii Was Jus Trying To Get A Feel For What Everyone Thought. I Am The Traffic Crash Investigator For Our Department And I Have Handled 3 Fatal Accidents In The Last Month And All Would Have Lived If They Would Have Been Wearing Their Seatbelts. It Seems To Me I See A Lot Of People Without Them On.

    Seat Belts

Just curious on everyone's thoughts on wearing seatbelts?
  9. I will be in the timber along a travel route next to a bedding area that morning and wishing I where in the woods in the afternoon while I am working.
  10. Congrats....and best wishes
  11. He is a 10 point with good mass. Could use more tine length but he will score higher than what everyone thinks in my opinion. He looks to be around 20 wide for an inside spread and his main beams are going to be at least 20 inches if not a shad longer so there is 60 inches right off the bat. He looks to have around 25 inches of tine length on each side so ther is another 50 inches for a total of 110 inches. Now you have four circumfrance measurements if you look at his base I would say it is at least 4 to 5 inches. You can estimate this buy comparing it to his eyes. A deer's eye's around usually around that and he seems to have that in this photo. So if you give him the benefit and say 4 4/8 at the base and take off 4/8 (1/2 inch) on each progressive measurement that gives you 15 inches on each side for a grand total of around 140 inches. I could be wrong but I am willing to bet I am close.
  12. I want to clarify I DID NOT! vote for him in the Senate race
  13. No I didn't because I am not impressed with anything they have put out. Obama is suppose to be my senator but has spent more time trying to get elected than representing the people of Illinois which was suppose to be his sworn duty
  14. Have tried it but no luck. Can't hardly find the time anymore to hunt rabbits since I use all my vacation to deer hunt
  15. I would wait unless they up our chances of rain last I looked it was only 30%. But if you feel you need to get them out I would use a no-till drill that way what moisture you have will remain there and might be enough to get it started
  16. Can't use it here in Illinois it is Illegal
  17. I always take the last full week of October and first two weeks of November off. Seems to work for me.
  18. You guys still wanting to do something.....I am game. I am down in east central
  19. I am a pope and young measurer but I am in Illinois. Would love to do it I don't get to many bear skulls to do around here but it is a long way out. Let me know if you don't have any luck
  20. I have a TRX Team Realtree Extreme 32 by Fred Bear and it shoots great. I have taken several whitetail with it and all were passed completely through
  21. I would like to be able to spend more time in the woods and see my good friend Butch finally take a pope and young buck.
