I've got the Realtree AP/blaze orange Otterbox for mine. It's nice but kind of bulky. I dropped my phone getting out of the truck a couple weeks ago, bounced uder the truck, but no damage to the phone or the case. The lifeproof case is nice too, pricey, but worth it.

Congrats William!! Nice buck

Awesome deer Tom!! Congrats

I'm using a buck alpha dorado and a Gerber gator. I also have a gut hook, I think it's made by outdoor edge. Have used it a few times, and for as cheap as it looks and feels it works pretty darn good.

Picked up a new Nikon camera
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2 replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Photography & Video
Congrats on the new camera. I just bought my first DSLR about 4 months ago. It's a fun, addicting hobby. -
I haven't tried it yet, but reviews I've read from those who have tried it have been positive. I have needed a new sight for a while now, and knew I wanted one as soon as they announced it, but I haven't been able to find one since the release a few weeks ago. This late in the season I have decided I am just going to wait until next spring to pick one up.

Whoa, crazy. Congrats Tim, can't wait to see the pic. -
Seems like every once in a while we get a wave of spammers coming through. This seems to be worse than I remember though. Good thing we got some good mods to zap em quickly :gun2:

If this was public land, I wouldn't even think of doing it. And if this was land that I had access to year round, I probably wouldn't need them either. However, this is private land that belongs to my uncles in-laws, which is a good 6-7 hour drive from here and I only get up there once a year, twice if I am lucky. In the daytime, I can walk out no problem, at night it is a different story. It's so thick back there that in the dark you can't see your hand 6 inches from your face (I've had the joy of experiencing this when the light I was using died on me halfway to my blind). I've even been turned around in the dark with the trail tape I've been using. These will go up the day we get up there and come down the day we leave. I got a pack of clothespins today, actually got them for free. My mom and aunts were cleaning out the house of one of my aunts who passed away a while back and they found them and gave them to me. So I just need to get the reflective tape now.

Here is an updated picture of my 2007 GMC Sierra. Just added the topper to it about a month ago. -
What do you guys use for marking a trail to your stand. You can get turned around in the dark pretty easy in the woods I hunt in the upper peninsula. I usually use just some orange or bright pink trail tape, but sometimes they can still be a bit tough to see. I was going to just buy some reflective markers, but then I thought maybe I'd just make some. I figure for the price of a pack of 10 (which wouldn't be enough) I could make maybe twice or three times as many. Even if I do end up spending a little bit more, I'd still have a lot more. I was thinking of using some clothes pins, probably the colored plastic ones so I could see them in the daytime as well and just cut strips of reflective tapes for each side. Anyone done this before? or have another way that you have tried?

Still going down. $3.17 down the road at speedway. $3.14 if I use my rewards card.
-
It is about an average of $3.35 around here.

Welcome to the forums. I'd start with contacting the manufacturer and see about getting a users manual for that particular model and read it front to back. Then as wtnhunt said, read Bluelks muzzleloading chapters posted at the top here in the muzzleloader room.

Same with me. I'll listen to anything that sounds goods (to me). One day/week/month I can be on a country kick, next thing you know I'll hear a song that will put me in a rap/hip-hop mood. Then it could be rock, and so on.

Glad to hear everything went well, Chris. No kiddin, go put one of the GIANT Ohio whitetail on the ground. Don't try and hide it, we all know that's where all the big are.

Hoyt released their new bows for 2013 yesterday, and looking at the videos, the camo pattern didn't look like AP. While it had some things that looked similar, you could tell it was different. Now that they (Hoyt) have their website updated, you can see the color options. No Realtree AP, but a Realtree XTRA. This was an older pattern, right? Comparing the sample Hoyt has and the old pattern I found I'm thinking maybe Realtree is maybe revaming it to a better HD type pattern? Thoughts?

What do you guys wear for hearing protection when shooting? Do you just go with the plain ole ear plugs, or do you have the electronic earmuffs? I have a pair of Peltors that are on their last leg, one side already went out so I am thinking about replacing them. Any recommendations on what to look at, or what not to get?

I haven't found a good one yet. I've tried most of the arcade style ones and they are fun for a little bit but then just get boring.

decal marks on windows?
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2 replied to Michiganbowhunter_SQ2's topic in Vehicles and Hunting Transportation
At this point I just plan on leaving them. It's an eye sore, at least to me, but I don't want to mess with something that is going end up costing me more money if I mess it up. This is a used topper/cap that is in GREAT shape, and we got a good deal on it compared to what this model costs brand new. As for replacing the glass, or the entire window, we were told it is pretty pricey. We took it into the place we usually buy our toppers from (the previous own had actually bought it from that same place) so they could wire the interior light and third brake light. They were telling us not to close it by grabbing the sides because it could break the glass, especially in the cold, then they told us how much the lid along costs, lets just say I'll be being extra careful with it lol. Thanks for all the help anyways guys. -
I quit using one when I bought my z7 a couple years ago and it hasn't caused me any trouble. I keep a pretty loose grip, haven't dropped the bow yet.
-
I've had it since it came out. I like it and haven't had any trouble. What exactly don't you like about it? If it was a brand new phone then yes it should have iOS 6 on it already. You can check by going to the settings app>General>About and scroll down to where it says version (should say 6.0)...or after you click General you can click on software update and it'll tell you if it there is an update or not.

Hate to hear this, thoughts and prayers on the way from Michigan.
