  1. Bought a scope for my rifle last week. It hasn't been in the woods since I bought my muzzleloader, but I decided this is the year I take it back out. It is the gun my dad bought me when I first started hunting (Savage .270) and I feel bad for never taking a deer with it. Other than that, I haven't bought anything....yet
  2. I don't think huntingfootage is even working anymore is it? I joined the forums over there and there were a couple posts saying that the guy who bought it isn't doing anything with it. The ones mentioned above are good, I watch all of them. Lately though I have been just searching YouTube. I've been watching hunting videos for that past week on there. A lot of self filmed hunts on their. Some are pretty good, some not so much.
  3. Post em up. I'm looking for some good, simple recipes for deer camp. I'm kind of weird when it comes to some things. Like I like the flavor and taste that onions and peppers give off, but I don't like to eat actual onions or peppers . Yeah I'm weird like that lol. Recipes with those are fine, I can just cut them in larger chucks so that I can pick them out Right now I just keep it simple, cut some into cubes and cook it, then later throw some taters and carrots in there.
  4. I'm pretty pumped for this winter for some reason. I think it is going to be a good one with a lot of snow. I'm really hoping the temps keep following this pattern at least through around November 18th (when we come home from deer camp). Right now temps are around 7-9 degrees lower than the average for that area. So if it keeps that up we'll be in the mid to low 30's up there, and hopefully get some snow for the firearm opener, something we haven't had in a long time up there.
  5. I could, but I don't like stickers or decals that big I'm just going to have to leave it. Nothing I have tried works on any of the three spots.
  6. Arrow rest. Been using a ripcord for quite a while now and it has worked great. Lots of good rests out there, just have to find what you like.
  7. There is nothing there to scrape off. There is no residue of ANY kind on there. The picture I posted above was taken after I sprayed the window and was wiping it down. Once that dries, you can't really tell anything was there. It's just from a decal that must have been on there for a while. If you ran your hand across each of these marks, you wouldn't even think anything was there. There is a place right down the road that does windshield/window repairs on vehicles, I'll have to stop by there and see what they say. I'm also going to shoot the manufacturer of the topper an email and see if they have any recommendations. I'll let ya know what happens.
  8. Yep, I have sent a lot of stuff through UPS and each time I ask for a receipt with the tracking info on it. Sometimes UPS (and other carriers too) is slow when it comes to update their online tracking information.
  9. I went out and tried the goo-gone stuff. It didn't work. Looks like I might just be stuck with it.
  10. You guys still think this will work even though this isn't glue or residue left over? When dry you can't even notice it it, but when it rains or has any moisture then they stand out. If you were to run your hand over it when dry you couldn't even tell anything is or was there. I'll give it a try anyways though.
  11. Pretty sure they are glass. I'll check and make sure in the morning.
  12. I picked up a topper for my truck a couple days ago, got a pretty good deal on it (it's used). While it is in great condition, there is one thing I noticed that is kind of bugging me. The previous owners had some decals on it, on the two side windows and on the rear window and when it is wet you can see where they were. When dry you can't even notice it, and there is no texture or anything that suggest any residue left from stickers. Any idea on how to get it off? I didn't notice it until I was at the car wash spraying the truck down. I haven't tried Windex or anything yet. If that doesn't work, any other suggestions? Here is a picture I took of it, this is the back window, but it is also on the sides as well. If it were smaller it wouldn't be a huge deal, but all three are about 10-12 wide.
  13. If you are worried about resale value, I'd say "pink out" everything you can without changing anything out the bow itself (cams, limbs, riser etc...). Pink String and dampeners, maybe a grip, things that are easily replaceable by any potential future buyers. If you paint the bow itself I think it would hurt the resale value a bit. Also, don't forget about the arrows, look for some wraps and vanes to put on them.
  14. I don't have any land close to me to hunt. No public land in my county, and the closest is at least a 30-40 minute drive from here. Have driven to my uncles place a few times, that is an hour and 20 minutes one way. I used to have permission to hunt a small piece of land about 40 minutes away. I would drive that every morning and hunt all day. Our farthest drive is just over 400 miles and about a 7 hour drive to the farm we hunt in the upper peninsula.
  15. Great pics Trevor, thanks for sharing.:cool2:
  16. Yep, that's pretty much it. Mathews, Hoyt, Elite, Bowtech, PSE, and so on.....they all make really nice bows these days. Even the smaller name companies put out equipment as good as these big name companies. Each person is different and had different needs/wants, best thing when looking for a new bow is ti hit different shops and shoot as many as you can and start narrowing it down. Pick something just out of name brand or because it is the next big thing and you might not be happy with the hundreds of dollars you just spent.
  17. Good luck Chris. Will be praying for you.
  18. At the top of the room you can click on how you want to sort the threads, click on replies and it will sort it by the amount of replies to a thread. I did it and it was a game I started a long time ago that went 181 pages. Not sure if there was anything longer than that. I know there was a forum clean up a while ago so if there was a long one before that then it was erased.
  19. Depends on where I'm at. Sometime I hunt in a small patch of woods behind the house, I'll leave it up then. Our deer camp for our gun opener is in the upper peninsula so I don't put my blind up until we get up there, usually 2-3 days before the opener. It hasn't really mattered so far, I see deer all the time in that spot.
  20. I don't really watch regular tv. My tv is always on a hunting show or some kind of sporting event. To much reality tv cluttering up regular channels.
  21. Head north to my cousins house early tomorrow for the day. Going to golf early then hang out and watch football all day tomorrow. Probably won't do anything the rest of the weekend.
  22. I didn't like the 3-blades when they were first released, I bought a pack didn't like em, and haven't tried them since, might have even threw them away. I like the 2-blades though, I carry a couple in my quiver when I go out. Like anything, you are going to find some people who like them and some who don't.
