  3. How many of you michiganders watch fred trost and great lakes outdoors and michigan out-of-doors? i try to watch it every week...wekk this week is the annual big buck night....usuall some pretty nice deer. as for those of you not from michigan...do you have any local shows like this? the ones here are on what in my area...is kind of a public access channel. they are no realtree outdoors but its fun watching normal people like us out in the same woods that we hunt. sometimes they go to ranches but for gun season they have people who take a regualr video camera to thier camp and film a couple days of their hunt
  4. Re: Post rut, post gun bowhunts? i'll probly get out a couple times with the bow during late season...we also have a week for muzzleloader comin up in a couple days so i am gunna get the encore out for that as well
  5. Re: Another Kansas beauty.... man those brow tines are huge...thats a great deer right there
  6. Re: Nice 9pt thats a really nice deer....but it'd be hard to take him knowing there is a bigger one around....i'd say that if by the last day you don't have the bigger one...give the 9er a ride in the back of the pickup
  7. Re: Exploding Carbon Arrows (graphic): [ QUOTE ] Obviously he was shooting right handed arrows off a left handed bow.... [/ QUOTE ] Didn't know there was a difference It just doesn't seem right to me...how can and arrow explode and drop down and go into your hand like that, that fast? either he did something incredably(sp) dumb or i don't think the picture is real
  8. Re: Shooooooo! That was close...... i to have dial-up...i would like to get something faster but its hard to beat $3 a month for AOL
  9. Re: Best 3x9x(40 or 50)scope....in the $150-$350 range [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] size does not matter as much as quality. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like you're talking from experience. [/ QUOTE ] LMAO!!
  10. Re: My weekend Buck... *pic* nice buck...Congrats!!

  16. I am getting a rifle barrell in 300 win. mag. for my encore for x-mas. what power scope would be good for this caliber? i don't really have any place where i hunt where the shot will be over 300 yards (if even that far)....would a 3-9x40 be ok or should i get something with more power? thanks in advance MBH_SQ2
  17. Re: Deer vs. Bear man thats crazy...thanks for sharing!
  18. Re: Hi all!! welcome to the forums...great place with great people
  19. Re: Bonds and Giambi i was never a big fan of Giambi's anywho..didn't have anything against him but didn't really care what he did or didn't do......aas for Bonds....i don't really care...in my eyes, he's still not huge like everyone thinks he is, yeah he's bigger than what he was when he first started but thats called workin out....besides...doing steroids doesn't mean you are gunna come out and start hammering baseballs out of the park...put arnold swarzen-however you spell it in the batters box when he was in his prime in weightlifting and i bet he could barely hit it into the middle of the outfield..if that....its all about hand eye coordination, making good contact with the ball....if size mattered then hank aaron wouldn't hold the record because he was half the size of bonds.....either way Bonds will be in the hall of fame.
  20. Re: 2004 Muzzleloader Buck great deer jamesvee...congrats!!
  21. Re: Peep sights.. [ QUOTE ] I use a combo of a kisser and the hose, my only problem is that the peep hole (?) is a little small. I might run a drill bit through it this weekend steve [/ QUOTE ] i just went and bought a hose peep...i to use a kisser with it...and the hole on the one i got was to small so i took a drill bit and drilled it out to be just a tad larger than my old peep...works like a champ now being left eye dominant and shooting right handed i need to have as big a diameter as i can
  22. Re: Biscuit Vs. Drop away i'm not a big fan of the biscuit....i just don't see how your fletching making contact with the brissles (sp) can be just as good or better than your fletching making contact with NOTHING! i bought the muzzy zero effect this past fall and man that thing is nice....no contact what so ever. oh well...this could go on forever, i guess its like the whole mathews/hoyt thing...just go with what works for ya....like jimt said...if you are shooting good, just leave it as it is.
